Monkey Knife Fight is a DFS platform that offers a wide range of fantasy sports options, including NFL, college football, NBA, NHL, and soccer contests. This platform stands apart from competitors because its DFS competitions pit the player against the website, not against other players.

If you’ve shied away from DFS because you don’t want to spend all day seeking information to beat experienced players that use their own algorithms, this site offers another way to play DFS that might better fit your style.

Not only does Monkey Knife Fight eliminate the need to worry about other players, it also eliminates the need to worry about fitting players into a salary cap. You don’t have to analyze the costs of each player to form the team that can win you thousands of dollars. Instead, you can play the contest that makes sense for your time commitment and your bankroll. Each contest gives you the opportunity to make the team that you want, based only on how much you’re willing to risk and what you think is most likely to happen.

New customers can get a sign-up bonus of a 100% match of their initial deposit up to $100, along with a free $5 entry, with Monkey Knife Fight promo code ODDS100.

Monkey Knife Fight Review

Monkey Knife Fight might be a relatively new player in the world of DFS, but it has quickly turned itself into one of the best DFS apps and the third largest in the United States behind FanDuel and DraftKings. It has been able to gain a large market share largely because it offers a completely different experience than competitors because its founder Bill Asher wanted to create a DFS experience where any player had a legitimate chance to win a contest.

To that end, Monkey Knife Fight’s DFS contests pit the player against its own predictions rather than making players compete against each other in a contest with only a few winners.

In a contest between the 49ers and Seahawks, for example, MKF might make a prediction of 240 passing yards for Geno Smith and allow you to predict whether he’ll have more or fewer than their prediction combined with at least one other player stat.

There’s no worrying about whether someone else has chosen a better matchup for that day. All you have to do is focus on the predictions that you want to make.

Monkey Knife Fight has also removed any worries about a salary cap for its contests. If you’ve ever played traditional DFS, you know how frustrating it can be when you have to decide between two matchups you really like, because you only have space for one on your team. With Monkey Knife Fight, that doesn’t happen. If you really like two specific players to do well, you’re free to enter contests for both of them without worrying about how one might affect the other.

Monkey Knife Fight’s contests include More or Less, Rapid Fire, and Stat Shootout options. The aforementioned Geno Smith example falls under the More or Less category, as you’re simply picking whether he’ll beat his predicted number or not. Rapid Fire pits two players against each other as kind of a one-on-one DFS contest, and Stat Shootout lets you pick your own miniature fantasy team in order to get a specific stat.

You’ll be able to enter contests in all of these categories on games involving the NFL, college football, the NBA, NHL, soccer, UFC and plenty other sports.

There are a few notable drawbacks to Monkey Knife Fight, such as the lack of any kind of rewards system. No matter how often you play at Monkey Knife Fight, you aren’t going to earn any kind of loyalty for your efforts. There is also a $20 minimum withdrawal limit which is higher than some competitors.

Also, Monkey Knife Fight has poor customer reviews in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Some common complaints include issues with the app and trouble withdrawing money.

One other thing to note is that Monkey Knife Fight requires you to make at least one play per year to keep your account active. If you don’t, your balance will be returned to you and your account closed.

Monkey Knife Fight Game Types

When Bill Asher created Monkey Knife Fight, he wanted the site to provide an experience that allowed the average fan to have a fighting chance at winning money. Because of that, Monkey Knife Fight’s game types are quite different from traditional DFS offerings.

All of Monkey Knife Fight's games are against the house instead of against other players. The games work similarly to parlays in sports betting in that you have to get all of your picks correct in order to win.

Here’s a look at each:

More or Less

The most simple option of Monkey Knife Fight’s game types is More or Less, which pairs at least two athletes and asks players to choose whether they think each player will have more or less than their total in that stat.

It can be passing attempts, rebounds, shots taken, fantasy points accrued, and more depending on the sport. You can pair between 2 and 6 players, with prizes ranging from 1.7 times your stake to 40 times depending on the number of players.

Here’s how the payouts typically work for More or Less:

  • 2 of 2 players correct = 3.5x your entry
  • 2 of 3 players correct = 1.7x your entry
  • 3 of 3 players correct = 5x your entry
  • 3 of 4 players correct = 2.5x your entry
  • 4 of 4 players correct = 10x your entry
  • 5 of 5 players correct = 20x your entry
  • 6 of 6 players correct = 40x your entry

Here are some screenshots of Monkey Knife Fight DFS More or Less (click to expand):

Rapid Fire

Rapid Fire compares two players against each other. You’re still making multiple picks, but you’re doing it by deciding which player will do better in each stat. Some players’ stats are adjusted if their projected to have less in that stat than the player you’re matched up against.

For example, you can choose whether you think Donovan Mitchell or Jordan Clarkson + 8.5 points will score more points or whether Jarrett Allen or Evan Mobley + 1.5 rebounds will have more rebounds in a game.

You can win anywhere from 1.7 times to 5 times for five outcomes, and you must be correct on all of your outcomes to win.

Here’s how the payouts typically work for Rapid Fire:

  • 2 of 2 players correct = 3x your entry
  • 2 of 3 players correct = 1.7x your entry
  • 3 of 3 players correct = 5x your entry
  • 3 of 4 players correct = 3x your entry
  • 4 of 4 players correct = 10x your entry
  • 5 of 5 players correct = 20x your entry
  • 6 of 6 players correct = 40x your entry

Here are some screenshots of Monkey Knife Fight DFS Rapid Fire (click to expand):

Stat Shootout

Finally, Stat Shootout is the closest that you’ll get to traditional DFS contests. Unlike a traditional DFS contest, however, you won’t be hamstrung by a salary cap when you’re making a team for one or multiple games.

Instead, your goal will be to choose a team to reach whatever goal Monkey Knife Fight sets in a certain stat. This can be combined touchdowns, assists recorded, shots on goal, or any stat that all players can accrue in your game.

Your only limitation is that you can’t draft all your players from one team. You can either try to reach Monkey Knife Fight’s predetermined target for 1.5 times to double your stake, or you can be more aggressive and set a higher target to win a larger prize ranging from 1.8x to 2x your entry.

The way that you want to play is entirely up to you.

Monkey Knife Fight User Experience

You can play Monkey Knife Fight on both the mobile app and on the website. Both have very simple designs that make it easy to play.

Monkey Knife Fight looks admittedly bare bones, but it offers a very user-friendly experience for players. It is very easy to find the contest you want in each sport and decide on the buy-in you wish to make.

You’ll have easy access to all the available contests each day, and load times are quick without the bells and whistles that can slow down browsers and apps.

Contests are broken down by sport, so you’ll have no trouble finding the matchup you want in the sports you know best. There are also pictures of most players, making it easy to find the ones you’re interested in at a glance.

In our experience, Monkey Knife Fight rarely has any glitches or crashes like some other platforms, though many customer reviews reference that the app often has error messages, trouble loading, and is generally slow.

Monkey Knife Fight is always updating and improving its app, however, so maybe many of these customer reviews are from an older version than we’ve used and based our review on.

Monkey Knife Fight Reviews from Players

Monkey Knife Fight has an average rating of 2.2 from over 65 reviews in the Apple App Store and 2.7 from over 100 reviews in the Google Play Store.

Positive reviews often reference how easy it is to use, the variety or sports and games, and how it’s easier than traditional DFS platforms where you’re playing against others.

By far the most common complaint in negative reviews is trouble using the app. Customers note that it doesn’t load/is slow to load, has error messages constantly popping up, and refreshes too often to make it easily usable.

Despite the negative reviews, we still think it’s worth trying out MKF for yourself. Like us, you may have a pleasant experience as many of the kinks have been worked out or should be worked out in future updates.
