Best Prediction Markets in the U.S.

Prediction markets are having a moment in the U.S. What started as a tool for academics and analysts has become a mainstream way to put money on real-world events.

Combined monthly trading volume on the two biggest platforms, Kalshi and Polymarket, shot up from under $5 billion in September 2025 to about $24 billion by April 2026, according to Pew Research Center.

To put that in perspective, legal U.S. sportsbooks took in around $14 billion a month in 2025, which means prediction markets are now moving more money than the major betting sites.

The best prediction market platforms let you put real money on outcomes across sports, elections, interest rates, tech, entertainment, and business news. You can make predictions about which team wins the Super Bowl, whether the Fed cuts rates in June, who wins the California governor's race, whether OpenAI goes public before year-end, or which song finishes No. 1 on Spotify on December 31.

My picks for the best prediction markets for sports, politics, economics, culture, and other real-world events are Kalshi, Polymarket, OG, Crypto.com, and ProphetX.

Below, I break down what each platform is actually like to use, where they earn their place, and where they fall short.

1. Kalshi: Best Overall

Kalshi logos

Kalshi launched in 2020 as the first CFTC-regulated event exchange in the US and leads the market by trading volume. It's my highest-rated prediction market app. It's available in all 50 U.S. states.

Welcome Bonus

New users can claim the Trade $10, Get $10 welcome offer. After trading a combined $10 across any markets on the platform, $10 in bonus funds gets credited to your account. Use Kalshi promo code ODDSASSIST to claim the offer.

Market Variety

What sets Kalshi apart from Kalshi alternatives isn't just how many categories it covers; it's how far it goes inside each one. Most platforms that offer climate markets have one contract type: whether this year ranks among the hottest on record.

Kalshi has daily and hourly temperature markets for specific US cities such as New York, LA, Miami, and Philadelphia, plus dedicated markets for hurricanes, natural disasters, and snow and rain.

In crypto, competitors mostly offer end-of-year price targets or milestone contracts, like “Will Bitcoin cross $100k?” Kalshi runs contracts on Bitcoin price at 1 pm today, at 5 pm, and at 15-minute intervals throughout the trading day, across BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, DOGE, and more.

On politics, most platforms cover national elections and, at best, congressional control. Kalshi goes down to individual Senate primaries, House races, Governor contests, and international elections across Brazil, Peru, Hungary, and beyond, plus SCOTUS decisions and Trump policy markets.

Kalshi also has Art markets, which you won’t find on any prediction market apps. The contracts are tied to real auction results, so traders can take a position on how much major works or collections sell for.

Kalshi offers a Mentions market where you can trade on whether a specific word gets said during a live event, whether that's an announcer saying “ankle” during an NBA game or a CEO flagging a specific term on an earnings call. No other prediction market platform offers anything comparable.

I made a tool that tracks Mentions markets at Kalshi, so be sure to check it out if you find this trading category interesting. It pulls Kalshi's Mentions market data and maps it against earnings call transcripts, so you can see which phrases are being priced in before a call and compare that against what actually gets said.

When it comes to sheer sports variety, nobody touches Kalshi, which is why I consider it the best platform for sports trading. I've stumbled onto 150+ markets for esports alone at one time. This is the place to trade the deep cuts, super niche stuff like AFL and PDC darts. My personal favorite is City Titles, where you call whether a town like Boston or New York hauls in one or multiple championships in the next several years.

Features

Kalshi also supports maker orders, which give you more control over your entry price than a straight taker order does. Say you want to trade whether the Fed holds rates in June, and the current contract is sitting at 97 cents. Instead of buying at whatever the market is offering, you can post a limit order at 95 cents and wait for someone to fill it on the other side.

In terms of Kalshi banking, the site accepts PayPal and Venmo in addition to ACH, cryptocurrencies, wire, and debit, which is more than most platforms in this space offer. A handful of deposit methods come with small fees or brief security holds.

Kalshi recently started offering perpetuals, or perps, giving traders another way to trade crypto price movements beyond standard Yes/No event contracts.

Pros and Cons

Pros: Kalshi has the widest market coverage of any US prediction market platform. It goes deeper inside each category than most competitors, supports maker orders for better price control, and offers PayPal and Venmo funding. Liquidity is strong on major markets, too.

Cons: Kalshi's taker fees are slightly higher than Polymarket's, especially on markets priced near 50/50. Some deposit methods also come with small fees or holding periods.

Best Use Cases

Kalshi is the right call if you want to trade politics, economics, culture, climate, or crypto without switching platforms.

It's also a better fit for traders who want short-resolution contracts rather than year-end questions. Daily temperatures, Fed decisions, and 15-minute BTC prices are available here and almost nowhere else.

Pricing

Kalshi uses a probability-based maker/taker fee structure. Taker fees generally range from $0.07 to $1.75 per 100 contracts, depending on the market, while maker fees range from $0.02 to $0.44 per 100 contracts.

Kalshi fees are highest near 50/50 and lower at the extremes, which means high-conviction trades at the outer ends of the probability range are relatively cheap to enter.

Expert analysis
Expert analysisDave Rathmanner | Founder of Odds Assist
I've found the politics markets on Kalshi to be more consistently well-priced than what I see on platforms that treat politics as a secondary offering.

The Mentions category is where I get the most edge personally. Knowing what language tends to show up on earnings calls in specific sectors, or what phrases a politician favors, gives you something to trade on that doesn't show up in traditional market data. I haven't seen anything like it on any other US platform.

Kalshi Quick Facts:

  • OA Rating: 92/100
  • Sign-Up Bonus: Trade $10, Get $10 with promo code ODDSASSIST
  • Fees: $0.07-$1.75 Per 100 contracts taker/$0.02-$0.44 per 100 contracts maker
  • Sports Markets: NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, soccer, esports + 8 more
  • Other Markets: Politics, art, culture, crypto, climate, economics, mentions, companies, financials, tech & science, health, world
  • Payment Methods: Online banking, PayPal, Venmo, wire, debit card, cryptocurrencies
  • Payout Speed: Up to 5 business days

2. Polymarket: Lowest Fees

Polymarket logo blue

Polymarket originally launched in 2020 as a crypto-native prediction market and became one of the most-traded platforms in the world, driven by the 2024 US Presidential Election, where it processed over $3.7 billion in volume and outpaced most traditional polling in accuracy.

After a CFTC enforcement action in 2022 forced it out of the US market, it came back in late 2025 following its acquisition of QCEX, a CFTC-licensed exchange.

Polymarket is available in all 50 U.S. states, except Nevada.

Welcome Bonus

New users who register with my link get $50 in trading funds after depositing $20. Use the Polymarket promo code ODDSASSIST to secure the intro promo.

Polymarket also runs a daily rewards program for traders who add liquidity through limit orders, with automatic payouts weighted toward orders posted closer to the current market price.

Market Variety

Polymarket US is more curated than the global version, which has over a thousand markets across politics, crypto, science, and other categories.

In the US, Polymarket offers only a few categories outside sports, including politics, temperature, tech, and culture. Inside politics, though, it's probably the most efficient prediction market available in the country.

When I'm trading politics, Polymarket's prices usually give me the clearest read on the race. Its biggest markets tend to have enough liquidity and trader attention to turn new information into prices quickly. I've seen congressional control markets reprice within minutes of fresh polling data.

Polymarket gives sports traders plenty to work with. Beyond the major leagues, you'll find motorsports, UFC, esports, and niche sports like cricket. They've even added NPB and KBO baseball markets that are hard to find anywhere else.

Features

Like Kalshi, Polymarket supports limit orders and gives you access to an order book.

Before you enter a position on congressional control, a presidential primary, or another political market, you can see where other traders are bidding and offering. You can also see how much money is available at each price.

That helps you judge the trade before you place it. If buyers and sellers are close together, you have a better chance of getting the price you want. If they're far apart, you may need to post your own limit order or wait for a better entry.

Unlike most Polymarket alternatives, Polymarket doesn't charge fees on deposits and withdrawals, with a $50,000 daily limit on most payment methods.

Pros and Cons

Pros: Polymarket has the lowest fees of any US prediction market platform. Maker orders earn a rebate instead of paying a fee, and deposits and withdrawals don't cost anything. You also get high daily limits, a full order book, and the option to place limit orders.

Cons: Polymarket doesn't offer parlays for sports markets.

Best Use Cases

Polymarket is the best fit for political traders who care about cost and execution quality.

I use it alongside Kalshi rather than instead of it. I check prices on the same political contract across both before entering a position, and the difference is often worth the few extra seconds.

Pricing

Taker fees scale from $0.0005 to $0.0125 per contract based on the contract price. Maker orders pay nothing and earn a rebate instead. Therefore, Polymarket fees are the most favorable in the US market by a meaningful margin.

Expert analysis
Expert analysisDave Rathmanner | Founder of Odds Assist
Polymarket has the best political prediction market in the US right now. The community is better-calibrated, prices move faster on new information, and the fee structure rewards traders who add liquidity instead of charging them for it.

The US version is still bare bones as far as trading options outside sports. But for political trading specifically, this is the platform I trust most on pricing. I've been caught more than once by a price discrepancy between Polymarket and Kalshi on the same contract, and more often than not, Polymarket turned out to be right.

Polymarket Quick Facts:

  • OA Rating: 88/100
  • Sign-Up Bonus: Deposit $20, Get a $50 trading bonus
  • Fees:
    • Taker: from $0.0005 to $0.0125 per contract
    • Maker: No fees
  • Sports Markets: NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, F1, cricket, esports + 6 more
  • Other Markets:
    • Global: Politics, crypto, finance, tech, culture, world, economy, elections, mentions
    • U.S.: Politics, economy, tech, culture, and temperature.
  • Payment Methods: Apple Pay, bank transfer, wire, and debit cards
  • Payout Speed: Up to 5 business days

3. OG: Best for Culture and Companies

og prediction market logo new png

OG launched in February 2026 as Crypto.com's prediction-market-only spinoff. It's a sports trading app first, but the platform gives you plenty of trading options for real-world markets, from company headlines to culture markets and current events. It's available in all states except Arizona, although sports contracts are off-limits in several states.

Welcome Bonus

After signing up with OG via my link, you can claim a $10 bonus after making a $10+ trade. You don't need an OG promo code to claim the bonus.

Market Variety

OG is built around sports, but the rest of its market menu is no slouch, either.

You can trade culture markets tied to year-end Spotify rankings, including artists like Bad Bunny, Drake, and Taylor Swift. OG also has Game of the Year markets for GTA VI, Resident Evil Requiem, Half-Life 3, and other major releases.

OG gives company news traders a few good markets to pick from. For example, you can trade which company will have the best AI model by the end of the month.

OG also lists IPO markets, including whether OpenAI goes public before year-end and which companies announce an IPO in 2026. SpaceX, Plaid, Kraken, and Anthropic are all part of that conversation.

The macro side is worth a look if you trade rates. OG covers both Fed and ECB decisions, while Kalshi doesn't currently offer ECB markets.

OG doesn't match Polymarket or Kalshi on the number of competitions per sport, but it covers enough niche sports to scratch that itch when you want something outside the majors. Sailing markets are in the mix, for one. For my money, the props they cook up are the highlight. Even away from the major U.S. sports, soccer hands you options like first and anytime goal scorer.

Features

OG displays markets in American odds format, so you'll see -335 and +203 rather than percentages or cents. If you've been betting on sports for years, you won't have to think twice about reading them.

OG excels in banking, offering Venmo and PayPal in addition to ACH, wire, and debit for deposits, and withdrawals come back within 24 hours.

OG also has a parlay builder, but it only works for sports contracts right now. You can tie multiple sports markets into a single position, giving OG a sportsbook-like feature you won't find on most prediction market apps.

The biggest downside of OG is the lack of limit orders and a full order book. You're taking the market price on every trade, which gives you less control over your order than you get on Kalshi or Polymarket.

Pros and Cons

Pros: OG has a wide range of culture and company markets, plus ECB rate coverage alongside Fed markets. It also supports PayPal and Venmo, offers up to $100 in welcome bonuses, and has a parlay builder for sports contracts.

Cons: OG doesn't offer limit orders or a full order book, so you're taking the market price on every trade. Its market coverage outside culture and company headlines is also thinner than Kalshi's.

Best Use Cases

OG makes sense if e-wallet banking is high on your list. I’d also point culture-market traders there, since OG has a broader mix of entertainment, pop culture, and related markets than most apps in this range.

Pricing

OG charges $0.02 per contract, making OG fees on par with most prediction markets.

Expert analysis
Expert analysisDave Rathmanner | Founder of Odds Assist
OG is the prediction market app I’d open when I want something less buttoned-up than Kalshi and less politics-heavy than Polymarket. It doesn’t beat Kalshi on total market count, and it doesn’t beat Polymarket on politics.

The downside is the lack of price control. OG doesn’t have limit orders or a full order book, so you don’t get to name your price like you can on Kalshi or Polymarket. You take what the app gives you when you trade.

OG Quick Facts:

  • OA Rating: 89/100
  • Sign-Up Bonus: Trade $10, Get $10
  • Fees: $0.02
  • Sports Markets: NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, soccer, tennis
  • Other Markets: Companies, financials, culture, politics, economics
  • Payment Methods: ACH, PayPal, Wire, debit card, Venmo, Instant deposit via Plaid
  • Payout Speed: Up to 24 hours

4. Crypto.com: Best for Short-Term Crypto Trading

Crypto.com is the prediction-market product within the broader Crypto.com brokerage ecosystem. Crypto.com got CFTC approval in 2024 as the first prediction market platform authorized to offer event contracts tied to sports outcomes. It's available in all U.S. states, except New York. Check out my guide to see where Crypto.com sports contracts are unavailable.

Welcome Bonus

New users at Crypto.com who register with my link can earn up to 1 BTC in CRO rewards by trading $100 or $500 of eligible tokens within the first 30 days. You don't need a Crypto promo code to lock down the welcome bonus.

Market Variety

The culture and companies market list is essentially identical to OG, which shares the same origin. You get Top Artist on Spotify, Video Game of the Year, Best AI Model by the end of June, OpenAI IPO timing, and Company to Announce IPO in 2026 with the same candidates.

On economics, Crypto.com covers the US Recession by the end of 2026, Fed decisions for June and July, and ECB Interest Rates.

The crypto market list is the most granular of any US prediction market platform. Bitcoin price contracts run from 5-minute windows through hourly, daily, weekly, and beyond, covering specific price targets at specific times of day.

You can trade Bitcoin at 12:35 pm and Bitcoin at 12:40 pm as two separate contracts with different resolution prices.

The coin coverage spans BTC, ETH, LTC, BCH, DOGE, AVAX, LINK, DOT, SHIB, XLM, HBAR, CRO, SOL, ADA, and XRP. For traders with a view on intraday crypto price movement, this is the only US-regulated platform where you can act on it with that kind of precision.

Features

Crypto.com supports deposits and withdrawals in over 350 cryptocurrencies, as well as PayPal, ACH, wire, and debit.

The broader Crypto.com brokerage interface adds some navigation friction if you're only here for prediction markets, which is the main practical advantage OG has over it.

Pros and Cons

Pros: Crypto.com has the deepest intraday crypto price markets in the US, plus 350+ crypto payment options.

Cons: Crypto.com can feel heavier if you only care about prediction markets, since they're part of a larger brokerage app. The welcome bonus is also tied to crypto trading volume, not prediction market activity overall.

Best Use Cases

Crypto.com is the right pick for traders who want granular short-term crypto price contracts alongside culture and company markets.

Pricing

For $1 contracts, Crypto.com charges $0.02 to open a position and $0.02 to close it, meaning Crypto fees are the same as you get on OG.

Expert analysis
Expert analysisDave Rathmanner | Founder of Odds Assist
The 5-minute Bitcoin price contracts are what make Crypto.com worth having on the list. That level of intraday granularity doesn't exist anywhere else in the US-regulated space right now, and for traders who follow crypto price action closely, it opens up a category of trade that the other platforms simply don't offer.

For everything outside of crypto, OG is a cleaner version of the same product. The main reason to choose Crypto.com over OG is if you're already in the ecosystem, or if the short-term crypto markets are specifically what you're here for.

Crypto.com Quick Facts:

  • OA Rating: 86.5/100
  • Sign-Up Bonus: Trade $100, Get Up to 1 BTC in CRO Rewards
  • Fees: $0.02
  • Sports Markets: NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, soccer + 5 more
  • Other Markets: Companies, financials, culture, politics, economics
  • Payment Methods: ACH, PayPal, Wire, debit card, 350+ cryptocurrencies
  • Payout Speed: Up to 5 business days

5. ProphetX: Best for Sports Trading

prophetx-logo-smaller

ProphetX is a CFTC-regulated sports prediction market available in every U.S. state except Nevada. You can read up on ProphetX's backstory in my states guide.

Welcome Bonus

New users who register with my link can claim the ProphetX Trade $10, get a $20 welcome offer with the ProphetX promo code ODDSASSIST.

Market Variety

Sports market variety is where ProphetX makes its name.  A football game can pack in 170+ markets, including first-half markets, team totals, TD scorers, passing props, rushing props, receptions, tackles, field goal props, and first-quarter markets.

The app has a good long-term sports section, too. You can trade futures such as Super Bowl winners, NFL MVPs, and season specials. I’ve seen creative football markets on ProphetX like player milestone contracts tied to single-season records.

ProphetX is locked in on sports at the moment, other than a few entertainment markets like Hot Dog Eating contests. That lack of category range is a big reason it isn’t higher on my list.

Features

ProphetX doesn’t use a full manual limit-order slip, but you can work your entry price with the plus and minus buttons. If you want a better price, you can move the offer and leave it resting in the market. If another user accepts the other side, your trade fills.

Banking is pretty flexible on ProphetX. Deposits work through Zerohash for crypto, Aeropay for online banking, and wire transfer. There are no deposit or withdrawal fees, and users can withdraw as little as $1 through online banking.

Pros and Cons

Pros: ProphetX has a large prop selection and no withdrawal fees. Its trading fee is 2% of net winnings in each market, while parlays don’t carry a fee.

Cons: Liquidity can be weaker outside major sports and main markets.

Best Use Cases

ProphetX is best for sports traders who track lines across multiple books and want an edge when shopping for value.

It’s not for you if you want to trade on real-world events because ProphetX doesn’t currently offer any markets outside sports.

Pricing

ProphetX charges 2% on net winnings for all markets except parlays, which incur no ProphetX fees.

Expert analysis
Expert analysisDave Rathmanner | Founder of Odds Assist
ProphetX is the app I’d check when I want sports pricing without sportsbook juice. The best part is that it gives you a real exchange mechanic while staying familiar to bettors who think in American odds.

The edge is not automatic, though. You still need to check the available liquidity before you size up. A great price with only a small amount available is not the same as a great market. When the liquidity is there, ProphetX can beat what you’d see at standard sportsbooks. When it isn’t, you may need patience or a backup book.

ProphetX Quick Facts:

  • OA Rating: 89/100
  • Sign-Up Bonus: Trade $10, Get $20
  • Fees: 2% Commission on winning bets; parlays don't incur any fees
  • Sports Markets: NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, F1, golf, UFC + 6 more
  • Other Markets: Entertainment
  • Payment Methods: Online banking, wire transfers, cryptocurrency via Zerohash, and paper checks
  • Payout Speed: 48-72 hours

6. Novig: Best for Trader Rewards and Incentives

novig logo

Novig is a peer-to-peer sports prediction market platform. It uses a sweepstakes model with Novig Coins and Novig Cash rather than direct real-money wagers, which gives it a wider reach than many state-regulated sportsbooks. I cover Novig's state availability and its key differences from a sportsbook in my states guide.

Welcome Bonus

New users who register with my link can use the Novig promo code ODDSASSIST to claim $50 in Novig Coins after spending $5+.

Novig is the only prediction market that gives users free money to make picks. Through its mail-in bonus, you can get 5 free SC. It’s a good way to try the app without making a purchase.

Novig also has a cool challenges promo where you opt in, place eligible orders on specific markets, and earn points when you hit certain checkpoints. The Early Bird Challenge, for example, rewards users for trading 1, 5, and 10 Pro Baseball first-inning run total markets.

Market Variety

Novig focuses on sports, with markets for NFL, college football, NBA, college basketball, NHL, MLB, tennis, golf, NASCAR, UFC, and soccer. The platform also offers entertainment markets like Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest.

I like Novig's props markets. You can find NBA points, rebounds, assists, team totals, first basket, made threes, combo markets, soccer shots on target, soccer saves, anytime TD scorer, first TD scorer, interceptions thrown, passing attempts, longest rush, and kicking points.

Features

The one part I don’t love is how funding works on Novig. Users have to buy preset coin bundles, and while the $5 minimum is easy enough to live with, I’d rather choose the exact amount I want to spend. Cashing out comes with a higher bar too, since Novig requires at least $20, while Kalshi lets users withdraw as little as $1.

Also, Novig almost exclusively focuses on sports. That works if you’re here for games and props, but it won’t give you the broader real-world markets Kalshi offers, such as politics, economics, or climate.

Pros and Cons

Pros: Novig has no trading fees, plenty of props, and a simple app experience.

Cons: You can’t sell a matched position before settlement. It also uses a sweepstakes model, so users need to understand the difference between Novig Coins and Novig Cash before treating it like a standard prediction market app.

Best Use Cases

Novig is best for sports traders who want better prices on main markets and props, especially when they’re already comparing lines across multiple betting sites and prediction markets.

It's also a good option in states where traditional sports betting is limited, since the sweepstakes structure gives Novig a different legal route than standard sportsbook apps.

Pricing

Novig doesn't charge trading fees.

>>Best Prediction Market Bonuses

Expert analysis
Expert analysisDave Rathmanner | Founder of Odds Assist
Novig is at its best when you treat it like a price-shopping tool. I’d look there for main lines, props, and live markets, especially when a sportsbook price looks taxed.

The important limitation is position control. On Kalshi, Polymarket, Robinhood, Fanatics Markets, and FanDuel Predicts, selling before settlement is part of the trading experience. On Novig, matched entries are locked. That changes how you manage risk. You need to be comfortable holding, hedging, or passing when the market moves against you.

Novig Quick Facts:

  • OA Rating: 84/100
  • Sign-Up Bonus: Spend $5, Get $50 in Novig Coins
  • Fees: None
  • Sports Markets: NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, UFC + 5 more
  • Other Markets: Entertainment
  • Payment Methods: Online banking, credit, and debit cards
  • Payout Speed: Up to 48 hours

7. Fanatics Markets: Excellent Market Variety

fanatics-markets-logo

Fanatics Markets is a prediction market app launched through a partnership with Crypto.com. It gives Fanatics a regulated event-contract product separate from its sportsbook, casino, and merch business, while tying the experience back to the Fanatics ecosystem.

Welcome Bonus

New users can claim a Trade Match up to $25 in FanCash. No Fanatics Markets promo code is required; just sign up with my link to secure the welcome bonus.

Market Variety

Fanatics Markets covers 14+ sports, including NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, soccer, Formula 1, tennis, golf, UFC, college football, and college basketball. The sports offering goes beyond game winners, spreads, and totals. Props and futures are available too, including football markets such as first TD scorer and longer-term championship outcomes.

I figured Fanatics Markets would be mostly sports, given where Fanatics comes from. That’s not really the case, since you can also trade politics, culture, and company markets, including forward-looking AI questions.

Features

The app has an order book, which makes it easier to see available liquidity around the current price. Since Fanatics doesn’t post formal contract limits, your practical limit comes down to how many contracts are available near the price you want.

At launch, I was ready to write off Fanatics Markets because users couldn’t partially sell contracts. Now that partial selling is available, the platform looks much more competitive.

That said, I’m not ready to push Fanatics Markets into my top 5 just yet. The biggest reason is fees: the app charges around $0.04 per contract, which puts it behind Kalshi and Polymarket in trading costs.

Banking is another area where Fanatics Markets falls short. There’s no PayPal or Venmo, and the deposit fees are the part I really don’t like. Withdrawal fees are one thing, but shaving money off the front end before I even trade is hard to defend.

Pros and Cons

Pros: Fanatics Markets has broad sports coverage, good prop variety, and important trading tools.

Cons: Fees can be tougher on small trades and quick flips. Fanatics also charges a 2% deposit fee and doesn’t offer any e-wallets for deposits and withdrawals.

Best Use Cases

Fanatics Markets is a good fit for sports traders who want a prediction market app with familiar Fanatics branding and more sports variety than many newer event-contract platforms.

It’s especially useful if you want to trade sports contracts with an order book visible before entering. That liquidity view can help you avoid markets where the current price looks fine, but the next available contracts are much worse.

Pricing

Fanatics Markets charges per-contract fees when orders match and settle. The cost combines a Trading Fee and a Technology Fee. For many contracts between $0.20 and $0.80, the total fee is $0.02 per contract.

Expert analysis
Expert analysisDave Rathmanner | Founder of Odds Assist
Fanatics Markets is one of the better sports-first prediction market apps. The order book is the key piece for me. It gives you a quick read on whether a price is tradable or just sitting there with limited size behind it.

The fee model is the part I’d watch closely. Fanatics is more appealing when you’re taking a larger position or holding for a bigger move. If you’re trying to jump in and out around tiny price changes, the fee can make a good-looking trade much less attractive.

Fanatics Markets Quick Facts:

  • OA Rating: 85.5/100
  • Sign-Up Bonus: Trade Up to $25 in FanCash
  • Fees: Up to $0.02 per contract
  • Sports Markets: NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, soccer + 9 more
  • Other Markets: Culture, economy, climate, crypto, politics
  • Payment Methods: Debit cards, Apple Pay, online banking, wire
  • Payout Speed: Up to 3 business days

8. DraftKings Predictions: Best Prediction Market for DraftKings Regulars

DraftKings launched its prediction markets app in December 2025 through DraftKings Prediction, its CFTC-registered Introducing Broker subsidiary and National Futures Association member.

If you already use DraftKings for sportsbook, DFS, Pick6, casino, racing, or horse betting, trying Predictions takes very little effort. You’re already in the ecosystem, so the jump is smaller than it would be with a new standalone app.

Welcome Bonus

DraftKings Predictions doesn’t feel like a random side product. It feels like DraftKings is trying to make prediction markets familiar to people who already know how to bet, build picks, and move through a sports app without thinking too much about the mechanics.

You can claim $200 in Prediction Dollars when signing up for DraftKings Predictions via my link.

Market Variety

DraftKings Predictions boasts a wide range of trading categories. I found markets for MLB, the World Cup, tennis, WNBA, golf, MMA, NFL, college football, Formula 1, sailing, crypto, stocks, commodities, politics, culture, business, and economics.

Features

The app uses American odds, which is a smart choice for the audience DraftKings already has. If you’re used to seeing prices through a sportsbook lens, Predictions doesn’t ask you to learn a totally new language before placing an order.

The combo builder is another piece that feels very DraftKings. The app nudges users to add at least two picks, so the experience feels more like building a parlay than placing a one-off prediction market trade.

My main issue is that DraftKings Predictions is bare-bones in terms of features. It doesn’t offer key tools like limit orders or an order book, so users have less control over entries, exits, and sizing.

Fees are the main reason I’m not higher on DraftKings Predictions. DraftKings charges a flat $0.02 fee per contract, per side, and an exchange fee can apply on top of that. For casual users, DraftKings Predictions is simple to try, but traders who care about price control and costs will probably prefer Kalshi or Polymarket.

Pros and Cons

Pros: DraftKings Predictions has a broad sports coverage, combo functionality, and a trusted brand for users who already bet or play DFS with DraftKings.

Cons: Fees are more expensive than on Kalshi or Polymarket. It also doesn’t have the same proven long-term liquidity profile as older prediction market platforms.

Best Use Cases

DraftKings Predictions is best for existing DraftKings users who want to try event contracts without learning a brand-new app.

It’s a natural fit for sports bettors who want familiar categories like NFL, MLB, WNBA, tennis, golf, MMA, World Cup, and Formula 1, but with prediction-market mechanics layered underneath the sportsbook-style presentation.

Pricing

DraftKings Predictions charges $0.02 per contract per side, split between DraftKings and exchange-level fees. A full open-and-close cycle can cost around $0.04 per contract.

DraftKings Predictions may have the easiest path to mainstream adoption because it doesn’t need to teach every user from scratch. A huge number of bettors already know how DraftKings lays out sports, markets, bet slips, and promos.

The question is whether the product becomes a serious trading app or mainly a sports-bettor crossover tool. If DraftKings adds more order control, clearer fee education, and stronger liquidity across live markets, it could become a real threat fast. Right now, I’d treat it as a convenient way to try prediction markets rather than the sharpest trading platform in the category.

9. FanDuel Predicts: Best Prediction Market for Financial and Commodity Contracts

fanduel predicts logo

FanDuel Predicts is FanDuel’s prediction market app, built through a partnership with CME Group. It’s a separate product from FanDuel Sportsbook, with event contracts across sports, financials, commodities, culture, economics, and more.

FanDuel Predicts has a clean app experience and a simple trading flow. If you’ve used FanDuel Sportsbook, the product will make sense quickly, but the mechanics are different. You buy and sell contracts on outcomes, and your position value changes as the market price moves.

Welcome Bonus

New users can get a $25 trading bonus after signing up and making their first trade. No FanDuel Predicts promo code is required; just use my link to set up an account to secure the offer.

Market Variety

FanDuel Predicts offers contracts on various sports, including NBA, MLB, NHL, men’s and women’s college basketball, soccer, and college football. The sports market selection is mostly game winners, spreads, totals, and futures.

Outside of sports, FanDuel Predicts has markets for culture, commodities, economics, and financials. That includes award-show outcomes, energy and metals, inflation, unemployment, rate-related events, and broader market benchmarks.

FanDuel Predict doesn’t offer player props or parlays, which is surprising coming from a brand with so much prop-betting muscle. If you’re used to attacking nightly stat markets or stacking picks together, the app isn’t built for that routine yet.

Features

FanDuel Predicts doesn't offer limit orders, which limits trading flexibility significantly.

The bigger issue for me is the cost. FanDuel Predicts charges 2% on potential trading payouts, so a larger position gets taxed pretty quickly. If I’m loading up on a trade I really like, FanDuel is taking enough off the top to make me think twice.

Pros and Cons

Pros: FanDuel Predicts is easy to use and doesn't charge withdrawal fees. Beyond the standard sports slate, it has a strong lineup of financial and commodity contracts, covering inflation, unemployment, rate events, energy, and metals, which gives macro-minded traders real reasons to open the app.

Cons: The app lacks limit orders, parlays, and player props, making it less appealing for sports traders.

Best Use Cases

FanDuel Predicts is a good fit for traders who want exposure to financial and commodity markets like inflation, rate events, energy, and metals, all inside an app that's simple to navigate. It also works well for FanDuel Sportsbook users who want an easy first step into event-contract trading.

It’s less suited for experienced traders who want to set entry prices, browse order-book depth, or trade player prop markets.

Pricing

FanDuel Predicts charges a 2% transaction fee based on the potential payout. You pay it when you buy into a position, and you pay again if you sell before settlement.

FanDuel Predicts is the app I'd hand to a FanDuel regular who's curious about event contracts but doesn't want a steep learning curve. The sign-up, the look, and the banking all carry over, so you're trading inside an hour.

What stops me from using it more frequently is the 2% payout fee. On a small position, it's nothing, but size up on a trade you love, and FanDuel quietly clips a real chunk before you've won a dime. Also, they don't have player props, which is puzzling for a brand that practically wrote the book on props. I use it for the financial markets and shop for my sports trades elsewhere.

FanDuel Predicts Quick Facts:

  • OA Rating: 76.5/100
  • Sign-Up Bonus: Trade & Get $25 Bonus
  • Fees: 2% on potential payout
  • Sports Markets: NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, CFB, NCAAB, and soccer.
  • Other Markets: Culture, commodities, economics, financials
  • Payment Methods: Online banking, debit cards, Apple Pay
  • Payout Speed: Up to 3 business days

10. Robinhood: Best for Education Markets

Robinhood logo

Robinhood brings prediction markets into a broader investing app that already includes stocks, ETFs, futures, options, and crypto. It launched prediction markets in 2025 through a partnership with Kalshi and has since grown into one of the more complete event-contract options in the U.S. Robinhood availability spans all states, except Maryland.

Welcome Bonus

Robinhood doesn’t offer a prediction-market-specific bonus right now. New users can still get reward stock worth $5 to $200 after signing up via my link and linking a bank account or debit card.

Market Variety

Robinhood covers various non-sports and sports categories. I found prediction markets across sports, politics, climate, crypto, entertainment, economics, financials, education, technology, exchange rates, and more.

The sports coverage is strong, too. Robinhood has markets for NFL, college football, NBA, college basketball, golf, NHL, Formula 1, soccer, tennis, MMA, MLB, boxing, cricket, and esports.

Robinhood has also added more of the stuff sports traders want, including props and parlays alongside game winners, totals, spreads, and futures.

You don't see a platform outflank Kalshi on an entire trading category very often, so Robinhood earns a real tip of the cap here. Its Education markets let you trade outcomes tied to college tuition, school rankings, and higher-ed events, a corner of the space almost nobody else touches.

Features

I’m high on Robinhood from a features standpoint. It has the trading tools I want to see, including limit orders and an order book, so it feels more complete than prediction apps that only let users take the price in front of them.

Banking is where Robinhood loses me a bit. The app only supports bank transfers and debit cards, so if you’d rather keep trading activity away from your bank statements, Robinhood doesn’t give you much flexibility.

Pros and Cons

Pros: Robinhood has a broad market mix, strong liquidity, limit orders, good sports coverage, and unique education markets.

Cons: Prediction markets are not separated enough from the rest of the Robinhood app. Also, the platform only offers 2 deposit methods.

Best Use Cases

Robinhood is best for users who already think like traders. If you’re comfortable with limit orders, buying power, settlement, and position management, Robinhood gives you more control than many sportsbook-branded prediction market products.

It’s also a strong fit if you want sports contracts and non-sports contracts in one account, especially across economics, politics, climate, crypto, technology, and education.

Pricing

Robinhood uses a probability-weighted commission model. Its own commission is capped at $0.01 per contract, and exchange fees can add up to another $0.01 per contract. Total fees can reach up to $0.02 per contract.

Robinhood fees are highest around the middle of the probability range and lower when a contract is closer to $0 or $1.

Expert analysis
Expert analysisDave Rathmanner | Founder of Odds Assist
Don't read too much into the number 10 ranking here. Robinhood is only a touch behind the next handful of apps on my list, so the drop-off is nowhere near as steep as the position makes it look. Adding a standard welcome bonus, the kind that fronts you a preset amount of tradable funds, would be a major step up.

Feature-wise, the essentials are covered, limit orders and an order book included.

The thing to know is that Robinhood is a brokerage with prediction markets bolted on, so PDT rules, cash accounts, unsettled funds, and withdrawal holds can all affect how quickly you move money and recycle capital.

What can't be disputed is the market variety. Robinhood covers more categories than most other platforms, even though Kalshi offers more depth in each. The education markets are the ones I geek out over the most. I'll sit there weighing next year's tuition at Harvard or which school lands the top ranking, and because those prices track hard data, I can actually handicap them instead of guessing. Nobody else lets me do that.

Robinhood Quick Facts:

  • OA Rating: 82.5/100
  • Sign-Up Bonus: Up to $200 Stock
  • Fees: Up to $0.02 per contract
  • Sports Markets: NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, soccer, F1 + 4 more
  • Other Markets: Economics, elections, entertainment, technology, crypto
  • Payment Methods: ACH, wire, debit card
  • Payout Speed: Up to 5 business days

How Prediction Market Contracts Resolve

Resolution is the part of prediction market trading that most guides skip over, and it's the part that bites you if you don't understand it going in.

Resolution Sources

Every Kalshi contract has a designated resolution source written into the rules before trading opens. For economic markets, Kalshi uses official government data releases: the Bureau of Labor Statistics for CPI, the Bureau of Economic Analysis for GDP.

For rate decisions, the Federal Reserve's own announcement is the source. For elections, the source of the resolution is the Associated Press calling the race, not the official certification of the results.

For entertainment awards like the Oscars or the Emmys, resolution occurs when the awarding body makes the official announcement.

That distinction between “AP call” and “official certification” matters more than you'd think. On election night, a contract can resolve hours before a state formally certifies its results.

If you understand that going in, you know exactly when to expect your position to settle, and you're not sitting around waiting for something that already happened.

What Happens When an Event Is Postponed or Canceled

Edge cases are worth knowing about, too. If an event gets postponed or canceled, Kalshi's market rules specify how resolution works in those scenarios.

For entertainment markets, a delayed Oscar ceremony doesn't mean the contract expires worthless. It means the resolution waits for the rescheduled event. Reading the resolution criteria before you enter a position takes about 30 seconds and saves a lot of confusion later.

Polymarket uses a slightly different approach, with resolution sources specified per market and a community-based dispute process for ambiguous outcomes.

For political markets, the resolution logic tends to be straightforward. For more unusual markets, it's worth checking the details before you put money down.

What Moves Prices on Prediction Markets

Sports markets move on game events. Real-world markets move on information, and the information cycle varies by category.

Political Markets

On political markets, the biggest price movers are polling releases, fundraising reports, and major news events. A single high-quality poll showing a candidate up five points in a swing state will move a market faster than almost anything else.

Prices also react to what's happening on competing platforms. If Polymarket and Kalshi are pricing the same contract differently, arbitrage traders push them toward each other, which means a sudden move on one platform is often a signal worth paying attention to on the other.

Economic Markets

Economic markets run on a calendar. The Fed announces rate decisions on specific dates. CPI prints on a specific Tuesday every month. GDP estimates come out quarterly.

Unlike sports, where the action is live and unpredictable, most economic markets have a known resolution date weeks in advance. Positioning before a data release tends to be where the value is. Once the number hits, prices adjust fast, and the easy money is gone.

Culture and Entertainment Markets

Culture markets move differently again. Award show contracts have a precursor circuit that functions almost like a forecasting ladder. Critics' Choice typically comes before BAFTA, BAFTA before the Oscars, and the earlier results carry a real signal.

I've watched Oscar Best Picture contracts move meaningfully after BAFTA results landed, even though the two organizations vote independently. If you're trading entertainment markets, tracking the precursor season is probably the single most useful thing you can do.

Crypto Markets

Crypto markets on prediction platforms move with the underlying crypto markets, plus a layer of platform-specific mechanics around resolution dates and price targets.

A broader Bitcoin rally doesn't automatically resolve a contract. What matters is whether the price hits the specific target at the specific time the contract resolves. Those are different questions, and confusing them is a common mistake for new traders.

How to Choose the Best Prediction Market Site

I use six criteria to rank the best prediction market apps.

Market Selection

Market selection should be the first filter. There's no reason to use a prediction market app that doesn't cover the topics you want to trade.

For politics, Kalshi and Polymarket are the first two places I'd check. Polymarket US has a smaller menu right now, but its political markets are active and price news quickly.

Kalshi is the better pick if you want the widest range in one account. It covers politics, economics, culture, climate, companies, and plenty of smaller categories that most competitors don't touch.

OG and Crypto.com make more sense if you want to trade on culture and company markets. They won't match Kalshi's full range, but they're strong for music, gaming, AI, IPOs, and company headlines.

Fees

The difference between platforms can look small on one trade, but it starts to matter once you're placing a lot of orders.

Polymarket offers patient traders the best fee deal. If you use maker orders, you can post the price you want and earn a small rebate when another trader takes it. Kalshi offers more favorable fees for traders who make limit orders.

OG and Crypto.com keep fees simple with a flat $0.02 per contract. That's easy to understand, but it won't always be the cheapest option depending on the contract price and how often you trade.

Liquidity

Liquidity is easy to overlook until you try to enter or exit a market and the price you want isn't really there.

When a market has thin liquidity, buyers and sellers are usually far apart on price. That means you may have to pay more to enter a position or accept less when you want to get out.

It can be even more frustrating in fast-moving markets. If news hits and you want to close a position, there may not be enough money waiting on the other side at a fair price.

Kalshi and Polymarket usually have the strongest liquidity for political and economic contracts. OG and Crypto.com can have weaker liquidity once you move outside their main categories.

Welcome Bonus

When this market was finding its feet, plenty of prediction apps launched with no sign-up offer at all. That has flipped. Nearly every major platform now puts a welcome bonus on the table, so I treat it as one of my core scoring criteria.

A few different bonus structures are out there, and you can see the full breakdown in my prediction market bonuses guide.

The most common type of sign-up offer you can find at prediction markets is the trade-and-get, where the app credits you once you place a qualifying trade, which is the model that Kalshi, OG, and ProphetX run with.

A handful go the deposit-and-get route instead, handing you the bonus when you fund the account, like Polymarket and Novig.

Bonus size drives most of my score on a signup offer. Prediction markets don't attach wagering requirements to their bonuses, so a bigger offer generally means more usable value. That's not to say that the conditions are irrelevant. Short time limits, high qualifying trades, and low caps can each cut into an offer's value.

User Experience

User experience may sound irrelevant, but it affects how you trade.

Real-world events usually ask you to track a few things at once. You need to know how the contract resolves, where the price has been, whether another app has a better number, and when the next poll, earnings call, rate decision, or data release is coming.

A good interface makes all of that easier to check before you trade. A bad one makes you hunt for basic information while the price is moving.

OG will feel familiar if you're from sports betting, as it supports American odds.

Kalshi and Polymarket both give you order book visibility, which helps before you enter a position. You can see where buyers and sellers are priced, then decide whether to take the current number or wait for a better entry.

Banking

Payment options won't change how every market trades, but they matter when you need to fund quickly or cash out without extra friction.

Crypto.com is the best match if you use crypto. It supports 350+ cryptocurrencies, giving it the broadest crypto funding menu in the group.

Kalshi and OG make more sense if you prefer PayPal or Venmo. Both support those options, which is useful if you don't want to rely on bank transfers or crypto.

Polymarket is the strongest pick for higher-volume traders who care about banking costs. It has no deposit or withdrawal fees and offers high daily limits, making it easier to move larger amounts.

Tips for Trading on Prediction Markets

  • Read the resolution rules before you enter. Resolution rules are especially important for real-world events. A political market based on an AP race call can settle differently from one based on official certification. An economic market tied to a BLS release settles on a specific number, date, and time. Spend 30 seconds on the rules before you trade, and settlement will be a lot less confusing.
  • Use the economic calendar. CPI, Fed decisions, GDP, and jobs reports all have release dates that you can see weeks in advance. The best price is often available before the number drops. Once the report is out, the market usually reprices quickly, and you may be chasing a move other traders already caught.
  • For award markets, follow the precursor awards. Critics' Choice, SAG, and BAFTA all happen before the Oscars, and each one can shift the race. If a movie keeps winning precursor awards but is still trading cheaply in a Best Picture market, I'm at least taking a closer look. Some smaller award markets don't always adjust quickly.
  • Compare prices before you trade. The same political outcome can trade a few percentage points apart on Kalshi and Polymarket. On a meaningful position size, a better entry can save real money. Checking both platforms usually takes less than a minute.
  • Be careful with long-dated markets. A year-end contract gives you time to change your mind and exit if your read changes. It also gives the market plenty of time to move against you. I treat longer-dated entries as a starting point, not a promise to hold until settlement.
  • Use limit orders instead of taking the price in front of you. Posting a limit order makes you a maker, which means lower fees and, on some platforms, a rebate paid back to you. Taking the current price costs the most, especially in a market trading near 50 cents where fees peak. If you're patient and your read isn't time-sensitive, set your number and let the market come to you.
  • Lean on Prediction Markets Pro for mentions and politics markets. Prediction Markets Pro tracks the data that drives contracts in politics markets from mention counts and speech patterns to polling shifts, and it saves you from manually counting how many times a politician says a word. For mentions markets in particular, where a contract can hinge on a single phrase in a single speech, having that history in front of you is the difference between a guess and a read.
  • Check the order book before you size up. A price means nothing if there's no volume behind it. I've seen contracts showing a tempting number with only a handful of shares available at that level, which means a decent-sized order would move the price against you on the way in. Look at what's actually resting on both sides before you commit real money.
  • Don't confuse a price with a probability you agree with. A contract at 60 cents means the market thinks the outcome happens 60% of the time. Your job isn't to pick winners; it's to find contracts where you believe the true odds differ from the price. If you'd bet on something at any price, you're not trading, you're just rooting.
  • Trade the resolution date, not just the outcome. Two contracts can ask the same question with different deadlines, and the shorter window is almost always the harder bet. A market asking whether Bitcoin hits $150K by Friday is a different animal from one asking by year-end, even though the headline reads the same. Match the timeframe to how confident you are, not just how confident you are in the outcome.
  • Sell early instead of holding to settlement. You don't have to ride a contract to $1 or $0. If your position moves from 40 cents to 70 cents on news, you can cash out the gain right there and free up capital for the next trade. Holding for the last 30 cents means carrying full risk for a shrinking reward, which is rarely the smart play.
  • Watch for correlated contracts across a single event. A market on a Fed cut and one on a recession by year-end aren't independent, and neither are separate contracts on the same election. If you load up on several positions that all depend on the same thing happening, you don't have a diversified book. You have one big trade wearing a disguise.
  • Fade the overpriced longshot. Prediction markets have the same favorite-longshot bias as sportsbooks, where 3-cent contracts on dramatic outcomes tend to trade above their true odds because people love a lottery ticket. Selling a longshot you think is overpriced is often better value than buying the favorite on the other side.

Prediction Markets FAQs

What is the best prediction market for politics, economics, and culture?
Kalshi covers the most ground across politics, economics, culture, crypto, commodities, and climate. For the lowest fees on political trading specifically, Polymarket is the better call. For culture and companies with a parlay builder and sportsbook-style interface, OG is worth a look.

How old do you have to be to use prediction markets?
You must be 18 or older to trade on Kalshi, Polymarket, and most other US prediction markets. That's a lower bar than sports betting, which requires you to be 21 in most states.

Are prediction markets safe and legal?
Yes. The major US platforms operate under CFTC regulation, which means federal oversight rather than state gaming licenses. Your funds are held in segregated accounts, and every contract is fully collateralized, so you can never lose more than you put in.

What is the difference between a prediction market and a sportsbook?
At a prediction market, you're trading contracts directly against other users with no house setting the line. Prices move with supply and demand, and you can exit before settlement if there's liquidity on the other side. At a sportsbook, the house sets the odds and builds a margin into every line, and your bet is fixed once you place it. You can check my guide on how prediction markets work to learn more about these platforms.

Can you exit a position early?
On most prediction market apps you can, including Kalshi, OG, Crypto.com, and Polymarket. You can sell contracts before settlement as long as there's liquidity on the other side. That means you can lock in a profit if prices move in your favor, or cut a loss before the market fully resolves.

Are prediction market apps available across the US?
Kalshi and OG are available in most US states. Availability varies by platform, so always check the current terms for your state before depositing.

Can you use more than one prediction market at the same time?
Yes, and you should. The same contract can trade at different prices across platforms, so keeping accounts on two or three lets you shop for a better entry. It also gives you a backup when liquidity dries up on one of them.

Can you trade live during a game or event?
Yes. Kalshi, Polymarket, and most major platforms offer live trading on in-progress sports events, with prices updating in real time as the action unfolds. It works the same way on real-world markets, so a political contract will move the moment a result gets called.

How do prediction markets make money if there's no vig?
They charge trading fees instead of building a margin into the price.

Do you pay taxes on prediction market winnings?
Yes. Profits from CFTC-regulated prediction markets are generally taxable income in the US, and platforms don't withhold automatically. Most make tax documents available in your account settings at year-end.
