PrizePicks has been one of the top DFS apps since launching in 2019. In November 2025, it rolled out a new prediction markets feature in its app through a multi-year partnership with Kalshi.
As part of the expansion, PrizePicks launched two distinct products: Team Picks and Culture Picks.
- Team Picks is where you make picks on sports games, including who will win, spreads, and totals.
- Culture Picks is for non-sports prediction markets, like politics, entertainment, and other real-world events.
The trading process is the same in both. PrizePicks uses a $0 to $1 pricing model, where the price reflects the likelihood of an event occurring. The closer the price is to $1, the more likely the market thinks it will happen. The closer it is to $0, the less likely it is.
You can sell your pick at any time after placing your order. Your payout is based on the price difference between when you bought in and when you sell. If you exit before the market closes, there’s a small service fee, so keep that in mind if you sell before the market settles.
One thing I appreciate is that PrizePicks keeps prediction market funds separate from the regular DFS wallet. I use Player Picks pretty often, so having a dedicated budget for each section of the app helps me stay organized.
They also offer strong sports coverage, with prediction markets for all major U.S. leagues (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL) as well as combat sports.
On the downside, fees are higher than some competitor prediction market apps. They charge $0.005 to $0.02 per contract, which is significantly more than Kalshi, for example.
It’s also a bit of a letdown that they don’t offer options for player-stat predictions, though you can make player stat picks on the DFS side of PrizePicks.

- Subpar pricing: The platform's contract pricing is higher than what you’ll find on alternatives like Novig, Prophet Exchange, or Polymarket. If you trade often, the extra cost adds up.
- Mobile-only access: You need the app to use Team and Culture Picks. There’s no desktop version available. As someone who likes managing picks from a laptop, that feels a bit limiting.

PrizePicks prediction markets operate on a straightforward contract system using a $0-to-$1 pricing model. Each market is built around a simple yes-or-no question.
The price you pay reflects the market’s view of how likely that outcome is.
If the outcome hits, your contract pays out $1. If it doesn’t, you get nothing in return.
That’s it. From there, it's all about finding value and picking your spots.
Maybe you enter at $0.40 and exit at $0.70 to lock in some profits. Or, maybe you ride it out and hope it settles at the full dollar.
Either way, you're just trying to stay ahead of the market.
Viewing a Market and How Pricing Works
When you open a market on PrizePicks, you’ll see a few different possible outcomes. These might include what a commentator will say on air, which company will IPO first, whether Bitcoin hits a certain price by a set date, or when Drake will release his new album.
Each outcome has two sides:
- Yes: Which you choose if you think the event will happen
- No: Choose this if you think it won’t
Instead of showing raw prices like $0.43 or $0.78, PrizePicks displays payout multipliers. These look like 1.06x, 4x, or 7.69x, depending on the market.
Behind the scenes, those multipliers are just another way of expressing the same $0-to-$1 model.
- A lower multiplier means a higher price, which signals that the market sees that outcome as more likely.
- A higher multiplier means a lower price, suggesting it’s a longer shot.
In other words, you’re buying a contract that could be worth $1, but the market decides how much you’ll need to pay to get in.
Placing a Position
Once you pick a side, a simple order slip pops up.
It always works the same way:
- You enter the amount you want to risk.
- The app calculates your potential payout if your pick is correct.
- The most you can lose is the amount you put in.
PrizePicks figures out how many contracts to buy for you based on the current market price.
Let’s say the multiplier is 4x and you make a $10 entry. If your pick is correct, your payout would be about $40. If the multiplier is 1.06x, that same $10 returns around $10.60.
All costs are shown upfront before you confirm your entry.
Market Movement and Volatility
Prices, or multipliers, can move in real time before and during the games.
If many people are buying “Yes,” the price goes up, and the multiplier drops.
If more people are loading up on “No,” the price goes down and the multiplier increases.

That’s just a reminder that pricing isn’t locked in until the moment your position is confirmed. What you see while typing in your stake might shift slightly by the time the trade goes through.

Liquidity: How Much Action Is in the Market
Every market on PrizePicks shows a total liquidity figure. This represents how much money is currently in play for that specific question. Think of it as a snapshot of how deep and active the market is.

Event Resolution and Payout
Once trading on a market closes, everything moves into the resolution phase:
- No new positions can be entered after the cutoff.
- When the event takes place, PrizePicks, in partnership with Kalshi, uses a set of clearly defined rules to determine the official outcome.
If your prediction was correct, each contract you hold is settled for $1. If not, you only lose your original entry amount.
Each market has its own specific rules.
Let’s say you're trading on a Dog Show market. The resolution might depend on whether certain phrases are said on-air, and the rules will spell out which phrases count and which sources are used to verify them.
Ability to Sell Early
PrizePicks gives you the option to sell your position before the market closes, using the current price at the time you decide to exit.
If the price has moved in your favor, this lets you close the position without waiting for the event to settle. It’s a useful way to manage your position or exit early if the price moves in your favor.
There is a small fee for selling early, so it’s worth thinking about whether the timing makes sense. Sometimes taking the early payout is smart. Other times, it may pay to stay in and wait for the full $1 settlement.

All pricing in PrizePicks prediction markets is determined by user activity. The markets operate through PrizePicks Predict, run by Performance Predictions II, LLC, a CFTC-registered Futures Commission Merchant.
Regulation through the CFTC allows PrizePicks to offer event contracts in partnership with Kalshi.
The platform does not set prices. They shift in response to user demand and supply. When demand increases for one side of the market, the price moves closer to $1. If fewer people believe in an outcome, the price stays lower.
There is no built-in house margin. PrizePicks does not manipulate probabilities or embed an edge into the pricing. All price movement reflects what traders in the market believe about the likelihood of each result.
As for costs, there are only 2 types of fees on the platform:
- A small fee is included in the cost when you buy contracts
- A fee is applied if you sell a position before the market closes

Fees are added to your entry amount when an order goes through, and subtracted from your payout when selling an order.
If you hold an order until it settles, you won't be charged any fees, unlike if you sell early.

I’ve been on PrizePicks for a long time, so navigating the app feels pretty natural at this point. Still, the interface is clean enough that even first-time users should pick it up quickly. Switching between products is simple with the dropdown menu at the top of the screen.
Even though everything runs through the same app, PrizePicks does a good job keeping things organized. Your wallets stay separate between fantasy and prediction markets, so you always know exactly where your money is.
Interface & Navigation
One thing PrizePicks gets right with prediction markets is the top-down structure. You start with a broad category like Movies, Politics, Crypto, AI, or Companies.
From there, you can tap into more specific clusters, such as highest temperature, major film awards, earnings reports, price targets, or weekly political topics.
The layered market categorization makes browsing feel intuitive. It’s easy to dig into niche markets without getting lost in the app.
The visual design, though, is not my favorite. The layout uses oversized tiles, big fonts, and bold headers that take up a lot of space. It’s not difficult to use, but the overall look can feel a little heavy, especially if you’re used to cleaner, more minimal prediction market apps.
The good news is that once you get used to the style, the app runs smoothly. Switching between categories is quick, and markets load almost instantly.
The Entries tab is also well done. Active trades are clearly separated from completed ones, and you always know where your money is, how each position is valued, and how things are trending.
Opening a Position
Placing a prediction on PrizePicks is simple and fast. You choose your outcome, enter the amount you want to risk, and the app handles the rest.
Once the trade is confirmed, you get a full breakdown on the confirmation screen. It shows your multiplier, your expected payout, and exactly which contract you now hold.
Managing Positions
Once you open a position, you can see the details in the Entries tab (bottom center of the screen).
Once you're here, you'll see the trade details and the “Slide for Early Payout” section, which is essentially cashing out.
This might be the best part of the entire user experience.
Instead of hiding the sell option in a menu or tucking it behind a small button, PrizePicks uses a swipe gesture to make early exits simple.
When you're ready to sell, you just drag a slider across the bottom of the screen. As you do, the app shows exactly how much you’ll get if you close the position right then.
If you click into Pulse, you can see a line graph that tracks how your position has changed since entry.
It’s not a full trading chart as you’d see on a crypto exchange. Think of it more like a heartbeat monitor for your pick. It gives you a quick read on whether the market is trending in your favor.

PrizePicks Team and Culture Picks banking works differently than it does for DFS on PrizePicks. Since Team Picks and Culture Picks are handled through PrizePicks Predict, which is CFTC-regulated, you won’t be able to use all the same deposit methods.
Deposits for Team & Culture Picks
The deposit options for prediction markets are more limited compared to what’s available for Player Picks. Currently, the following methods are supported:
- Visa debit cards
- Mastercard debit cards (available in select states)
- Apple Pay (for deposits only, and only when linked to a debit card)
- Online banking via Instant Bank Transfer (Trustly)
If you deposit using something like a credit card or PayPal (both of which are allowed for Player Picks) those funds won’t be available for use in the prediction markets. Even if your full balance shows in the app, it won’t transfer over unless it was added through an eligible method.
The deposit screen in the app clearly spells this out. You’ll see which payment methods are approved for both sections and which are restricted to fantasy only, so you can avoid any confusion before you make a deposit.
Why Some Deposits Don’t Work
If your deposit doesn’t go through, it’s usually due to one of the following reasons:
- Your bank or debit card isn’t supported, which is common with some smaller credit unions.
- You’re trying to use a payment method that’s already linked to a different PrizePicks account.
- The name on your card or bank account doesn’t match the name on your PrizePicks profile.
- You’re trying to deposit less than the $10 minimum.
- You’ve hit your daily or monthly deposit limit.
- You’re located in a state where deposits for Team or Culture Picks are not allowed.
If the money leaves your bank but the transaction is rejected by PrizePicks, the funds will automatically return to your account. Most returns are processed within one to three business days if the money goes unclaimed.
Withdrawals
Withdrawing funds on PrizePicks is straightforward, but there are two key rules to keep in mind:
- You can only withdraw using a method you've already used to deposit. This includes PayPal, Venmo, debit cards, or a bank account, but only if you've made a deposit with that method before.
- Some payment methods, like Apple Pay, credit cards, and Discover debit cards, can only be used for deposits. You won’t be able to withdraw funds to those.
The minimum withdrawal is $10. Each time you request a payout, you’ll need to confirm it with a one-time code sent to your email. Most withdrawals are processed within 48 to 72 hours.
If your withdrawal gets rejected, here are the most common reasons:
- You're trying to use a withdrawal method that hasn't been used for deposits.
- Your banking information was entered incorrectly.
- You're trying to withdraw again before 24 hours have passed.
- You're still within the 72-hour hold after using Instant Bank Transfer to deposit.
PrizePicks Background
PrizePicks first launched in 2019, built around a stat-based format that stood out from the rest of the DFS crowd. Instead of focusing on salary caps and roster-building, it offered stat-based fantasy entries that were easier to enter and follow.
That straightforward games setup resonated with users and helped turn PrizePicks into a major player in the fantasy space well before prediction markets entered the picture.
In 2025, PrizePicks began preparing to branch out beyond fantasy. At one point, a partnership with Polymarket was teased to bring prediction markets into the app. The collaboration was announced but never reached full launch.

How do I track my open positions?
Your active picks appear under the Entries tab. Opening a position brings up a ticket-style view with your entry amount, current value, max payout, and a live trend graph that updates as the market moves.
How do fees and limits work?
PrizePicks charges a small fee when you enter a contract and another small fee if you sell early. There are no hidden margins built into pricing. Your maximum risk is always equal to your entry amount.
Which deposit methods are allowed for Team and Culture Picks?
Only Visa debit, Mastercard debit, Apple Pay (on debit), and Instant Bank Transfer (Trustly) are supported. Deposits made via PayPal, Venmo, or credit cards are limited to the DFS side and cannot be used for prediction markets.
How do withdrawals work?
You can withdraw only to a method you’ve used before for deposits, such as a bank account, debit card, PayPal, or Venmo. The minimum withdrawal is $10, and each request must be verified through a one-time code sent to your email.
