College Football Playoff National Championship Best Bets
Notre Dame +9.5 vs Ohio State – Monday, 7:30 pm ET on ESPN
This is a matchup of two very evenly matched teams.
These teams rank first and second in the nation in yards allowed per game, and offensively, they are putting up nearly identical numbers, with Notre Dame averaging 37 points per game and Ohio State averaging 35.8 points per game.
Notre Dame has a very strong pass defense, which could force Ohio State to focus more on the ground game. And, as we saw earlier this year against Michigan, that tends not to work out well for them.
Look for Notre Dame to control the ball and the clock, relying on a combination of short passes, runs, and some scrambles by QB Riley Leonard.
With points likely to be at a premium, asking Ohio State to win by more than one score in a very evenly matched game is too much.
Take the Irish +9.5 Monday night. They will be right there at the end with a chance to pull off the upset.

Notre Dame Kicker Mitch Jeter OVER 5.5 Points (+102)
Notre Dame kicker Mitch Jeter has become a reliable option for Notre Dame in the playoffs.
He has made at least 2 field goals in all three playoff games. With points being hard to come by against the Ohio State defense, don’t expect Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman to be afraid to run Jeter out there to try to put some points on the board.
In addition, the weather will not be a factor with the game being played indoors. Look for Jeter to go over 5.5 points.
Longest Field Goal Made OVER 44.5 Yards (-115)
This goes right into the thinking that points will be hard to come by, and both teams will kick it and take 3 when the opportunity presents itself, especially when 4th-down conversions will be far from a guarantee.
As we saw in the game against Georgia, Jeter clearly has the leg from that distance, and Freeman tried FGs from 47 and 48 yards (both were good)
On the flip side for Ohio State, Ohio State Kicker Jayden Fielding has been accurate this year, hitting 11 of 15 with a long of 46, so Ohio State should have no issue trying a FG from distance indoors.
One of these kickers should connect on a long one to cash this prop.
