NFL Week 14 & NCAAF Week 15 Best Bets

Tulane vs. Army UNDER 45.5 – Friday, 8 pm ET on ABC

The temperatures will be in the 20s with wind gusts up to 20 mph for this game on Friday night.

Army is a team that is very effective at controlling the clock by running the ball and limiting possessions for the other team. This will keep the game close and low-scoring.

The Tulane defense has seen the option offense already this year and shutout Navy in the game 35-0. They are allowing 15 points per game in their last 8 games.

Expect there to be limited opportunities for both teams to score tonight. Even when they’re in range, field goals will not be easy to kick with the wind.

Play this game UNDER 45.5 on Friday night.

NCAAF Pick of the Week: Clemson +2.5 vs. SMU – Saturday, 8 pm ET on ABC

Clemson faces off against first-year ACC team SMU in the title game on Saturday night, and the advantages will clearly be with Clemson.

First, the game simply means more to them. They must win to get in the playoffs. If they lose, they will be eliminated. Meanwhile, SMU is likely in the playoff, win or lose.

These teams are very evenly matched statistically, but the intangibles all break Clemson’s way. In addition to being a must-win game, Clemson has a lot of experience in these big games and the coaching advantage with Dabo Swinney.

Clemson is the team more likely to come up with a big turnover that turns the tide. SMU has turned the ball over 19 times this year. Look for the Clemson defense to force a few during the game and use that to propel them back to the College Football Playoff.

Pittsburgh Steelers -6.5 vs. Cleveland Browns – Sunday, 1 pm ET on CBS

This is a tough spot for the Browns, playing their second consecutive road game on a short week after losing in Denver on Monday night.

Besides being a tough spot, the Browns are not very good, especially defensively. They are allowing over 27 points per game on the road this year while averaging just 18.1 points per game on the road.

The Steelers will have revenge on their mind, as they lost to the Browns in Cleveland just a few weeks ago, 24-19.

Jameis Winston continues to struggle with turnovers, throwing 7 interceptions in his last 4 games.

Look for the Steelers to have some short fields and take advantage. The Browns’ defense will not get enough stops to give the offense a chance.

Look for the Steelers to win by at least a touchdown Sunday afternoon and take them -6.5.

NFL Pick of the Week: San Francisco 49ers -3.5 vs. Chicago Bears – Sunday, 4:25 pm ET on FOX

This is more of a play against Chicago than a play on the 49ers.

The Bears are an absolute mess right now, having lost 6 in a row. They fired their coach after the Thanksgiving Day debacle against the Lions and now have to go face a 49ers team desperate for a win to keep their season alive in the wide-open NFC West.

Despite their 5-7 record, the 49ers rank 7th in the league in total offense and 5th in the league in total defense. Meanwhile, the Bears are 22nd in defense and 26th in offense.

We’re getting a lot of value in this number based on the 49ers’ injuries and struggles, but they are still the better football team from top to bottom. Look for them to get the win and cover Sunday afternoon.

Dallas Cowboys +5.5 vs. Cincinnati Bengals – Monday, 8:15 pm ET on ESPN

This is a great scheduling spot for the Cowboys, as they are coming off a mini-bye week following a Thanksgiving Day win over the Giants.

The Bengals have the 27th-ranked defense in the league, and no matter how good their offense is, they are always giving up too many points and keeping games close. They are allowing 34.8 points per game in their last 5.

Dallas has had some injury issues, but the extra time off should help with some of that. WR CeeDee Lamb is expected to play, which will be a nice boost for the Dallas offense.

Look for this to be a close game and take Dallas +5.5 on Monday night.
