- Colorado St +7.5 vs. Colorado – Saturday at 7:30 pm ET

Florida State -6.5 vs. Memphis – 12 pm ET on ESPN
This is a case of a bye week coming at a perfect time for Florida State.
After a brutal 0-2 start to the season, they had a chance to regroup and get ready to take on a Memphis team playing its first road game of the year after wins at home against much weaker opponents in Troy and North Alabama.
This line was well into double digits before the season started, and this is much too big of an adjustment based on a 2-game sample size.
Florida State has the more talented roster from top to bottom. Look for them to show it Saturday afternoon with a win and cover.

Coastal Carolina -17 @ Temple – 2 pm ET on ESPN+
Until Temple shows they are capable of playing competitive football, I’m betting against them every week.
Temple added another 3 turnovers to their season tally against Navy last week, making it 9 turnovers in just 2 games. For an offense that is already struggling to score (14 points in 2 games), that’s just too much to overcome.
Their defense continues to struggle, as they allowed nearly 300 rushing yards against Navy last week. Now they will face a Coastal team that has been dominant on the ground, averaging 285.5 rush yards in their first two games.
The Temple defense won’t be able to slow them down, and the offense certainly can’t keep up. It will be Coastal in a blowout.

Pitt +2.5 vs. West Virginia – 3:30 pm ET on ESPN2
The line opened above a field goal and got bet down under the key number of 3 early in the week.
This is pretty much a Super Bowl-type game for Pitt as they face West Virginia in the Back Yard Brawl.
Look for Pitt to rely heavily on top RB Desmond Reid in this one. Reid has put up 145+ yards in the first 2 games of the year. The West Virginia defense struggled against Penn State, allowing them to rush for over 220 yards, so I expect them to be able to move the ball on Saturday.
Between the strong ground and electric atmosphere at home, look for Pitt to cover and likely win the game outright on Saturday afternoon.

Colorado St +7.5 vs. Colorado – 7:30 pm ET on CBS
Colorado State played Colorado very tough last year before getting outscored 29-14 in the second half and overtime to lose by 8.
Colorado struggled mightily against Nebraska last week. They could not get anything going on the ground and relied far too much on QB Shedeur Sanders, who was not able to produce enough to keep it close.
Now they have their second-consecutive road game against a Colorado State team that was able to work on some things against Northern Colorado last week to get ready for this one.
Colorado is also dealing with some early season injuries and will be without Shilo Sanders at safety and top RB Dallan Hayden.
Look for Colorado State to keep it close on Saturday with a chance to pull off an outright upset.

Minnesota Vikings +5.5 vs. San Francisco 49ers – 1 pm ET on CBS
The 49ers are traveling on the road off a short week to face a Minnesota team that looked really good in a Week 1 win against the Giants.
The 49ers will be without star RB Christian McCaffrey again, and that will spell trouble against a Vikings team that gave up less than 75 yards on the ground last week.
Minnesota is a place the 49ers have traditionally struggled, including in last season’s 22-17 loss to the Vikings. The Vikings have covered 9 of their last 10 at home against San Francisco, and I expect it to happen again.
Look for the Vikings to keep this one close Sunday afternoon and cover the spread.

Denver Broncos +2.5 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers – 4:25 pm ET on CBS
The Broncos looked surprisingly good against the Seahawks on the road in their opener last week. They were done in by some crucial turnovers from rookie QB Bo Nix but still kept it somewhat close.
The Steelers will again go with Justin Fields at QB as named starter Russell Wilson continues to deal with a calf injury.
The Steelers’ offense was not able to generate much against the Falcons despite having great field position and the defense forcing 3 turnovers. They had to settle for 6 field goals, with those being the only points they scored in their 18-10 win.
Now, the Steelers have to go on the road for the second straight week, which is not an ideal situation to start the season.
Look for Denver to keep this one close Sunday afternoon and cover.

Houston Texans -6 vs. Chicago Bears – 8:20 pm ET on NBC
The Chicago Bears are extremely lucky to be 1-0 after getting a win against the Titans in Week 1, thanks to 2 special teams/defensive touchdowns.
The Bears will not be so lucky against a Houston team that has explosive offensive capabilities.
The Texans put up 29 points and over 400 yards of offense in their Week 1 win over the Colts. Look for that offense to keep clicking in their home opener.
The Bears are a mess offensively, with rookie QB Caleb Williams not looking good for the Bears last week, throwing for under 100 yards.
I don’t think their defense won’t be able to contain the Texans’ offense enough to give themselves a chance.
Look for the Texans to win by at least a TD Sunday night and take them -6.
