Fanatics Sportsbook is one of the newer players in the U.S. online sports betting industry, launching on August 16, 2023, in Maryland, Massachusetts, Ohio, and Tennessee.

It wasted no time expanding into additional markets, largely thanks to the acquisition of PointsBet's U.S. assets for $225 million. Thanks to that purchase, Fanatics has expanded quickly and now operates in 19 states, including AZ, CO, CT, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, MD, MA, MI, NY, NC, OH, PA, TN, VT, VA, and WV.

Of course, having built-in name recognition has helped make rapid growth possible. But a name will only do so much. For Fanatics to flourish like it has and expand quickly, the product has to appeal to sports bettors.

While it is far from perfect, there are quite a few things that help Fanatics stand out. The generous welcome bonus gives $1,000 in bonus bets over your first 10 days of playing. It has a solid live betting platform and allows you to live stream many games.

Another thing that helps Fanatics stand out is FanCash. You earn some with every dollar you wager, which you can use to purchase your favorite team’s gear from Fanatics or convert into bonus bets.

As much as I like Fanatics, it could use some work in certain areas. For one, the design can be a bit confusing, making it hard to find the games you’re interested in. The betslip also isn’t as intuitive as competitors and I find myself constantly clicking the wrong buttons when trying to access it.

There is also no desktop site; you can only bet and manage your account via the app.

Overall, I think Fanatics is a solid sportsbook and worth testing out if it’s available in your state. At the very least, you can take advantage of the valuable welcome offer and see if you can turn those bonus bets into withdrawable cash.

While Fanatics shines in some areas and is definitely reputable, it is not so great that I’d make it my primary sportsbook. I will, however, use it for line shopping and place bets when it offers the most advantageous odds.

Fanatics Odds Competitiveness

The valuable sign-up bonus Fanatics had was enough to get me to open an account, but the competitive odds were what had me coming back.

In my time playing, I’ve found that Fanatics offers great odds for almost all markets, but they are especially competitive for player props.

We collected data from over 7,000 recent games for most legal U.S. sportsbooks and calculated the average vig at Fanatics to be 4.74%.

This is lower than many other big players in the industry, including BetMGM (5.17%), DraftKings (5.30%), and BetRivers (5.94%).

Superbook (4.62%), ESPN BET (4.7%), and BetPARX (4.72%) are some books with lower vig, on average.

Overall, the vig at Fanatics does not vary much by sport: NFL (4.70%), NCAAF (4.66%), NBA (4.68%), NCAAB (4.64%), MLB (4.59%), NHL (4.52%), and Soccer (5.67%).

As for specific markets, Fanatics is on the lower end among competitors when it comes to spreads (4.67%), moneylines (4.81%), and totals (4.71%). Only the Superbook was lower in all three categories.

The following three sportsbooks graded out with comparable odds or better:

Fanatics Sign-Up Bonus

The current welcome offer at Fanatics is Bet $100, Get $100 for the first 10 days.

You essentially get a Bet $100, Get $100 deal for 10 days straight, equating to a max value of $1,000 in bonus bets.

Your bet will be matched up to $100 each day. Bet $100, and you’ll get a $100 bonus bet. Bet $50, and you’ll get a $50 bonus bet.

Here are some important terms:

  • You must wager at least $5 each day to claim
  • Odds on a qualifying bet must be -200 or longer (e.g., -110, +110, etc.)
  • Bonus bets expire 7 days after they are issued
  • Payouts from winning wagers using bonus bets will not include the value of the bonus bet token. For example, if you place a $100 bonus bet on a market with +100 odds and win, you’ll only receive the $100 in winnings, not $200 which would include the initial stake.
  • There is a 1x playthrough requirement on bonus bets you can withdraw from your winnings.

The max value of the Fanatics Sportsbook sign-up bonus is exceptional relative to the competition, coming in at  $1,000.

I love that you don’t have to lose your first wager to get the bonus, like with the “no sweat” and “second-chance” promos common at many sportsbooks.

On the downside, you need to deposit $1,000 and make ten $100 wagers to max out the offer. It’s not your first 10 wagers that count, but your first wager for 10 days. So, you’ll need to make at least one bet for 10 days straight after signing up.

Here are three sportsbooks with better or comparable sign-up bonuses according to our ratings:

App & Website User Experience – My Takeaways

In my opinion, the user experience of the Fanatics Sportsbook app is fine but nothing exceptional.

On the positive side, it loads pretty fast, the search function works well, and there’s virtually no lag when switching pages. The team logos and player pics make finding games and players easy—something that somehow not every book has.

Fanatics Sportsbook NBA

Starting with the negatives, Fanatics doesn’t have a desktop site. Most people I know use apps, but many serious bettors like how you can view many more games and markets on desktop.

In addition, the homepage is very cluttered. Yes, the information can be helpful, but there is so much going on that it can be challenging to navigate.

It doesn’t help that the betslip gets in the way and that you must slide down to minimize it. It would be nice if it stayed minimized and you could click to open it up instead of it taking over the screen automatically.

Fanatics Sportsbook Betslip

One last thing that annoys me: the odds boosts are a great perk, but there isn’t a dedicated page for them. Instead, you have to scroll through the home page to find them. If you are in a hurry, it can be easy to miss them (and therefore miss out on some value).

Here are three sportsbooks with better UX, in my opinion:

Here are some other screenshots of the Fanatics Sportsbook app to help you get an idea of what it looks like (click to expand):

Sports & Betting Markets

Competitive odds and a generous sign-up bonus are nice, but if a sportsbook doesn’t carry the sports and markets I’m looking for, it’s a hard pass.

The good news is that Fanatics offers a solid selection of sports with an extensive betting menus for most.

What Sports You Can Bet On at Fanatics

While Fanatics does not offer as many niche sports as some sportsbooks, it has all of the major pro and college sports/leagues. Below is a complete list of the sports available on Fanatics:

  • Australian Rules
  • Baseball
  • Basketball
  • Boxing
  • Cricket
  • Darts
  • Football
  • Golf
  • Hockey
  • MMA
  • Motor Sports
  • Soccer
  • Table Tennis
  • Tennis
  • Volleyball

The overall number of sports may be smaller than some sportsbooks, but the breadth of competitions is top-notch. For example, baseball odds are available for MLB, NCAA, NPB (Japan), KBO (Korea), AAA International, and AAA Pacific Coast League.

Basketball has odds for the NBA, Euroleague, NCAA, and 19 countries.

For a more extensive selection of sports, give these sportsbooks a try (selection may vary from state to state):

Market Variety

Every sportsbook covers the standard betting line for games and the standard futures. When it comes to market variety, I typically look for three things: prop bets, futures, and parlays/same-game parlays.

Let’s review what Fanatics offers in those three categories.

The prop depth for MLB, NBA, and NHL games is in line with most sportsbooks, offering for all of your standard player statistical categories (i.e., points/runs/goals scored, rebounds, assists, blocked shots, steals, strikeouts, hits, home runs, and so much more).

Several player prop markets also have alternate lines: MLB—hits, RBI, strikeouts; NBA—points, rebounds, assists, three-pointers, steals, etc.

With that being said, there are sportsbooks that offer more when it comes to market variety, such as:

  • BetMGM: 4/4 for player and game props
  • BetRivers: 4/4 for player and game props
  • Betway: 4/4 for player and game props

You’ll find all the major futures on Fanatics Sportsbook, such as champion, conference/division winners, and player awards like MVP and rookie of the year.

I really like how they have a page set up for my local teams with several relevant futures for each.

If you are looking for more unique futures betting options along with a diverse selection, here are three sportsbooks worth exploring:

  1. FanDuel: Unique championship offerings, e.g., NHL: Canadian Teams vs. the Field. Similar markets are often available during football season for the CFB national championship and the Heisman Trophy.
  2. DraftKings: Extensive NFL draft markets.
  3. Caesars: MLB regular season series betting.

At many sportsbooks, you’ll have to navigate from one game to the next to view your options and select the legs you want to include in your parlay. But with Fanatics, the parlay builder lists each game scheduled for that day on one page by market.

The SGP builder with each game is just as intuitive and easy to use, and there is a tab for preselected SGPs.

I really like how Fanatics actually lists out the odds for each individual option you can include in your SGP. Many sportsbooks display no odds, making it hard to gauge if you’re getting good value or not.

To make the SGP builder even more helpful, Fanatics could add a way to see the dynamic odds (which factor in the odds based on the other legs of your parlay) like DraftKings does.

Live Betting

Fanatics’ live betting platform is one of the most user-friendly ones on the market. Odds are competitive and there is little lag time when the odds get updated.

Whenever one of the major North American leagues is active, you’ll find games available.

Along with the traditional betting line, you’ll find an extensive selection of player, team, and game props.

Microbetting is an option for some sports, but not all. For example, MLB games have a market for at-bat props (e.g., whether a player will get on base ot not).

Certain NFL games are also available to stream live, thanks partly to a partnership with Genius Sports Limited.

Early cashout is also available via the live betting platform which is a big plus.

Other sportsbooks with great live betting platforms include:

  1. FanDuel: 5/5 rating
  2. BetMGM: 5/5 rating
  3. DraftKings: 5/5 rating

Fanatics Reviews from Customers

The Fanatics Sportsbook app has a 4.7 rating on the Apple App Store from over 19,000 reviews and a 4.5 rating on the Google Play Store from nearly 4k reviews.

Most users have had a positive experience using the Fanatics Sportsbook app, often noting:

  • The VIP experience: One Reddit user raved about watching a Browns game from a VIP suite and hanging out with Nick Chubb’s father (Browns running back) thanks to Fanatics.
  • The app’s smoothness: Several user comments described the app as “the smoothest out of all of them.”
  • FanCash: Users love the chance to earn FanCash that can be used for buying apparel or converted to bonus bets when making bets.

However, while there were plenty of positive comments, there were some negative ones as well, most often referencing:

  • Getting limited: Several customers have issues with limits placed on their account without explanation during the first 10 days (keeping them from maximizing the welcome bonus and using bonus bets). If you win a lot on Fanatics Sportsbook, don’t be surprised if they cap your max bet amount quickly.
  • Confusing welcome offer: Many users note that they didn’t understand how to claim and use the daily bonus bets. Given that it requires logging in and placing bets for 10 days, it’s definitely one of the most confusing welcome offers currently available.
  • Withdrawal issues: Several people on Reddit complained of issues with getting withdrawals processed.

Fanatics Deposits, Withdrawals, & Payout Speed

Fanatics offers a variety of banking options for you to choose from for both deposits and withdrawals.

However, the number of options provided does not compare to many sportsbooks. Notably, Fanatics is missing Play+, Skrill, PayNearMe, and a few other popular gambling-specific banking methods.

You can make a deposit into your Fanatics account using one of six options. All but one allow you to make deposits instantly.

Deposit Method

Online Banking$5 Instant
Debit Card (all major providers)$5 Instant
PayPal$5 Instant
Venmo$5 Instant
Apple Pay$5 Instant
Instant Bank Transfer$5 Instant
Wire Transfer$5,000 Up to 2 hours

Withdrawal Methods & Payout Speed

The withdrawal methods offered by Fanatics are similar to the methods available for making deposits. While you can’t receive a withdrawal instantly, the timeframes are similar to what competitors offer.

But Fanatics does offer one interesting tool you will not find at many sportsbooks: a withdrawal tracker. It will help you track where your request is in the process and give you a good idea of when you’ll receive your money.

  1. FanDuel: 5/5 rating
  2. BetMGM: 5/5 rating
  3. BetRivers: 5/5 rating

Odds Boosts, Promotions, & Loyalty Program

I have mixed feelings about the promotions and odds boosts Fanatics offers outside of the sign-up bonus.

The ability to earn FanCash is my favorite part and the odds boosts are also great (despite them often being difficult to find).

Let’s take a look at each type of promo for all customers:

Odds Boosts

The odds boosts Fanatics offers are typically located under the third heading on the home page and just below the screen. Unfortunately, there isn’t a dedicated page for them.

Three options are offered and cover the premier sporting events of the day—typically NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and big college games. They are listed according to the starting time for their respective games.

Bets are capped at $25 which is about average compared to other books but still disappointing. I like when books have no limits or very high limits (like Caesars which has a max limit of $100).

I like how Fanatics’ odds boosts have a reasonable chance of paying out. They aren’t just on longshot bets like some other books—you’ll often finds boosts for close to 50/50 bets.

In my opinion, Fanatics Sportsbook is lacking compared to other top sportsbooks. Outside of the welcome offer, there are only a few daily odds boosts and the Power Hour reward.

Here are some promotions that Fanatics usually runs outside of the welcome offer:

  • Odds boosts: These give you a chance to earn more if you win a wager than you would have otherwise by giving the odds a boost, such as changing them from +110 to +170.
  • Refer-a-friend: Get friends to register for an account using your custom link and after they place a $10+ bet, you’ll both receive $40 in bonus bets.
  • Power hour: Every day at 12 pm and 6 pm ET, Fanatics offers you a chance to claim rewards such as odds boosted for a specific market, profit boost tokens, and bonus bets.

If you’re a promotion hunter, check out the following sportsbooks which we rate higher when it comes to promotions for existing customers:

Rewards Program

The Fanatics reward program—called Fanatics Rewards—may be my favorite on the market. With every bet you place at Fanatics, you earn what’s called FanCash:

  • 5% for same-game parlays
  • 3% for parlays
  • 1% on straight bets and odds boosts

FanCash can be used in one of two ways: to lower the cost of purchases at Fanatics or to convert it into bonus bets.

Fanatics FanCash

If bonus bets and discounted merchandise are enough of a carrot for you, Fanatics has a solid rewards/loyalty program. But if you are interested in something more, check out the programs offered at BetMGM, Caesars, and BetRivers.

Fanatics Sportsbook Customer Service

You can contact Fanatics customer support through the following ways:

  • Live chat: You must start chatting with a bot before talking with a person. It did not take long for me to reach a service rep. Once I did, they answered my questions without fail and in a timely fashion.
  • Email: [email protected]. Note that it may take up to 24 hours for them to respond.

If you ask the chat robot about customer service, it will provide you with a link to the FBG Help Center, which provides answers to many commonly asked questions.

To find customer service, navigate to the bottom of the home screen. In one of the last lines, you will find a link to the chat (‘here’) and the email address for questions that do not require a timely answer.
