Online sports betting in Kansas kicked off on September 1, 2022, following a quick regulatory process that allowed betting sites to launch just a few months after Gov. Laura Kelly signed the legislation.
Six betting apps currently operate in the Sunflower State. Among them, I prefer using FanDuel, Caesars, and BetMGM. I usually switch between them to shop for the best lines and take advantage of their promotions.
If you're curious what other sportsbooks are available in Kansas, keep reading as we'll list them out, including their sign-up bonuses, best/worst features, and everything else you need to know.
List of All Kansas Sportsbooks
There are six online sportsbooks currently available in Kansas. The state's four casinos can host retail sportsbooks and partner with up to three online platforms. As the market reaches total capacity, Kansas could eventually host up to 12 betting sites.
1) FanDuel: Best Overall Kansas Sportsbook
FanDuel partnered with Kansas Star Casino to access the market and set up a retail betting shop there. They've been active in Kansas since the launch of sports betting in the state on September 1, 2022.
FanDuel is my top pick for sports betting in Kansas because it consistently provides the best odds in the market. In our analysis, we found that they consistently charge less vig than any other KS betting site, meaning they take less of your money on each bet. FanDuel usually sticks to an average of -110 odds on spreads and totals, which is more favorable than other books that might push odds to -111 to -115.
What I also like about FanDuel is how quickly they post lines—they're among the first to open betting as soon as the previous games wrap up. They also have great promotions, offering plenty of chances to pick up bonus bets. FanDuel has one of the deepest lineups of prop bets. With college sports betting legal in Kansas, fans can find great betting options for local teams like the Kansas Jayhawks and Kansas State Wildcats.
A small critique I have of FanDuel is their tendency to over-promote parlays. Parlays can sometimes be fun, but they shouldn’t be part of your long-term betting strategy if you're hoping to win money.
FanDuel Sportsbook Quick Facts:
- OA BetReview Rating: 94/100
- Sign-Up Bonus: Bet $5, Get $150 Bonus If Your Bet Wins
- Best Features: Odds competitiveness, market variety
- Biggest Drawbacks: No sportsbook rewards program, not many daily odds boosts
- Number of Sports: 21+
- Payout Speed: Up to 5 business days (typically faster)
- Rewards Program: DFS & Casino only

2) Caesars: Best Odds Boosts Among Kansas Sportsbooks
Caesars entered the Kansas market by partnering with Kansas Crossing Casino in Pittsburg, where they now run a retail sportsbook. They were part of the state's initial soft launch, fully opening on September 8, 2022, just in time for the NFL season kickoff.
Caesars really shines when it comes to their odds boosts, offering a broader range and more generous limits than other KS sportsbooks. While many sportsbooks cap odds boost stakes at $50, Caesars lets you bet up to $100 on each boost, giving you the chance to win more on your boosted wagers.
Caesars' odds are among the best, only slightly trailing behind FanDuel's for certain markets. A major selling point is that Caesars isn't quick to limit sharp bettors like many other sportsbooks have become known to do.
One area where Caesars could improve is their customer service. Sometimes it takes 1 to 2 days to get a response, which is too long considering most places offer instant help.
Caesars Quick Facts:
- OA BetReview Rating: 93/100
- Sign-Up Bonus: Bet $1, Get 2x Winnings on Next 20 Bets
- Best Features: Loyalty program, user-friendly UX
- Biggest Drawbacks: Slower payout speeds, sluggish customer service
- Number of Sports: 23+
- Payout Speed: Up to 72 hours
- Rewards Program: Caesars Rewards

3) BetMGM: Best Kansas Sportsbook for Live Betting
BetMGM secured a license in Kansas through a deal with Kansas Crossing, but chose not to open a retail sportsbook.
BetMGM stands out as one of Kansas's top sportsbooks for live betting, offering strong in-play odds and a rich betting menu that includes play-by-play micro markets. You'll also have access to a suite of helpful tools to enhance your live betting experience, such as live streaming, live Same Game Parlays, and the option to cash out early.
I'm also a big fan of the “Edit My Bet” feature at BetMGM. This option lets you tweak a parlay in-play by adding or removing legs or adjusting your stake. You can make these changes right up until the cash-out window closes, giving you a better shot at maximizing your winnings.
On the downside, BetMGM's prop and moneyline odds aren't always as competitive as those offered by other Kansas sportsbooks, which is why I recommend that you use them alongside a few other betting sites in the state.
BetMGM Quick Facts:
- OA BetReview Rating: 84/100
- Sign-Up Bonus: Up to $1,500 in bonus bets
- Best Features: Edit My Bet, NFL rewards
- Biggest Drawbacks: Quickly limits sharps, UX can be a bit buggy
- Number of Sports: 19+
- Payout Speed: Up to 24 hours
- Rewards Program: MGM Rewards

4) DraftKings Sportsbook: Best Betting Site in Kansas for Props Betting
Like its biggest competitor FanDuel, DraftKings went live in Kansas on September 1, 2022. It set up a physical presence in the western part of the state by pairing up with Boot Hill Casino and Resort in Dodge City, where it operates a retail sportsbook.
When it comes to prop bets, it’s not an exaggeration to say that DraftKings sets the market. It gets its prop plays up first, and it has more prop plays than most KS sportsbooks. You can bet on just about any kind of game-related prop play on the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB and other sports. If you’ve ever wanted to bet on things like team rushing leaders or both teams to score three runs or more, this is the sportsbook for it.
DraftKings is great for bettors who like to dig into the stats before placing a wager. They provide all the necessary data in one convenient location, making it easy to analyze before you bet.
However, unless you’re betting props, you’ll need to check your odds closely when betting DraftKings. Its vig is one of the highest in the market on soccer, so it might not be the best choice for betting on teams like Sporting Kansas City.
DraftKings Sportsbook Quick Facts:
- OA BetReview Rating: 84/100
- Sign-Up Bonus: Bet $5, get $300 in bonus bets + $200 off NFL Sunday Ticket
- Best Features: Market depth, profit boost tokens
- Biggest Drawbacks: Odds not always competitive, quickly limit winners
- Number of Sports: 25+
- Payout Speed: Up to 5 business days
- Rewards Program: Dynasty Rewards

5) Fanatics Sportsbook: Best Kansas Betting App for Live Streaming
Fanatics Sportsbook has been active in Kansas since September 1, 2022, but it used to go by a different name. It was originally PointsBet Sportsbook until it rebranded to Fanatics on March 28, 2024. When PointsBet folded into the Fanatics brand, Fanatics took over all its licenses and existing partnerships, including one with Boot Hill Casino and Resort.
Since the rebranding, Fanatics has gone from one of the weakest sportsbooks for live streaming to one of the best. Now, it offers live streaming of NFL games, which is a huge advantage for live betting on teams like the Chiefs or Broncos. Just place a minimum $1 bet on any NFL game, and you'll gain access to the live stream, allowing you to watch the game and adjust your bets in real time.
The rewards program at Fanatics is another strong incentive to bet with them, as it lets you convert your rewards into Fanatics cash, perfect for buying team gear. For instance, if you're eyeing a new Kansas City Royals jersey, you can use your rewards to help purchase it.
On the downside, Fanatics Sportsbook sometimes struggles with verifying identities, which can be a hassle, especially when trying to place live bets.
Fanatics Sportsbook Quick Facts:
- OA BetReview Rating: 81/100
- Sign-Up Bonus: Bet & Get Up to $2k in FanCash
- Best Features: Valuable sign-up bonus, competitive prop odds
- Biggest Drawbacks: Confusing interface, no desktop site, quick to limit winners
- Number of Sports: 15
- Payout Speed: Up to 3 business days
- Rewards Program: FanCash Rewards

6) ESPN BET: Best Kansas Sportsbook for NHL Betting
ESPN BET entered the Kansas market on September 1, 2022, originally operating as Barstool Sportsbook. On November 14, 2023, Penn Entertainment transitioned Barstool to ESPN BET through a new partnership. As a result, ESPN BET inherited Barstool’s Kansas licenses, including the retail sportsbook at Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway.
Even though ESPN BET’s sportsbook is right across the street from Sporting Kansas City’s stadium, it’s NHL betting where ESPN BET really shines. Its vig on the NHL is in line with the NFL and NCAA football, almost unheard of for a major sportsbook. In most cases, you’ll find slightly better odds on the NHL compared to competitors.
You’ll also find a few unique props, such as being able to bet “No” on a player to score a touchdown in the NFL.
However, ESPN BET kept the clunky layout from its days as Barstool Sportsbook, making it slower than other sportsbooks. Additionally, it hasn't fully leveraged its ESPN branding, with no standout features that set it apart from the competition.
ESPN BET Quick Facts:
- OA BetReview Rating: 73/100
- Sign-Up Bonus: Bet $10, get $100 in bonus bets
- Best Features: Sports variety, competitive pre-game odds
- Biggest Drawbacks: Subpar user experience, not many features
- Number of Sports: 20+
- Payout Speed: 1 to 5 banking days
- Rewards Program: PENN Play Program
