New Jersey is one of the oldest online gambling markets and was one of the first states to legalize online sports betting after PASPA was repealed. Many sportsbooks were launched shortly after that—and PointsBet joined the party in July 2021.
This guide goes over the PointsBet NJ promo code, how the sign up bonus works, and everything else you need to know to decide whether it’s the right NJ sportsbook for you

Important Information About the PointsBet NJ Intro Promo
Even though PointsBet NJ offers a lucrative, yet somewhat confusing, welcome bonus. Here’s a quick overview of what you need to know before claiming the offer:
- PointsBetting vs. Fixed Odds. The PointsBet Second Chance Bets are only eligible for fixed odds bets, not PointsBetting bets. PointsBetting is PointsBet’s unique betting system that allows you to win or lose more money depending on how far off the result is from what you chose. For example, if you bet the Broncos -6.5 and they end up winning by 10, you would win more than you would if they only won by 7. A fixed-odds bet is a standard bet and the payouts don’t change based on the result.
- Time to use Second Chance Bets. When you place your first bet, that is considered your first Second Chance Bet and is Day 1 of your 10 days of Second Chance Bets. Each day after that, your first bet for that day is considered the Second Chance Bet, but if you don't place any bet that day, you forfeit the bonus.
- Time to Use Bonus Bets. You must use the bet credits (if you get them) within 7 days. This may sound like a short period, but it’s more than enough to explore the operator's various sports and betting markets.
- Playthrough Requirement. There is only a 1x rollover requirement on the PointsBet bet credits, so you only need to wager them once before you can cash out the winnings generated from them. Note that you’ll only be able to withdraw the winnings stemming from bonus bets since the stake will be deducted from the total sum.
- Eligible markets. There don’t seem to be any restrictions on either the second chance or bet credits in terms of odds or eligible markets.
PointsBet NJ Quick Review
PointsBet NJ is tied for first of all of the NJ sportsbooks we’ve analyzed.
The 10 Second Chance Bets totaling up to $1,000 is one of the best intro promos currently available in NJ. PointsBet NJ also regularly offers many other generous promotions and odds boosts, as well as competitive odds.
The unique PointsBetting system adds a unique twist to sports betting that is otherwise pretty much standardized across New Jersey. PointsBet has a nice user interface on both the app and website, and they allow you to bet on all majors sports and leagues.
The only category that we don't rate PointsBet as 5 stars is Deposits & Withdrawals—which it ranks as 4 stars (or “Great”)—because it doesn't have some of the same options as competing books.
Overall, PointsBet NJ is a phenomenal option. It has an industry-leading promo, great odds, and a smooth user experience.

Still, it's always smart to use at least a few sportsbooks so you can shop around for the best odds. This doesn't take much time but is important to become a profitable sports bettor over time.
PointsBet NJ Odds Boosts, Promotions, & Rewards Program
Pointsbet NJ features a range of promotions for returning customers too, including odds boosts, ongoing promotions, and a rewards program.
Here’s a look at each:
PointsBet Sportsbook NJ Odds Boosts
PointsBet offers boosted odds daily, and you can expect to find up to 6 different odds boosts for various sports, mainly focusing on major leagues, such as the NBA, NHL, NFL, and more. The boosts usually improve the odds by around 20%.
Overall, we’re happy with the number of boosts and their frequency for NJ players.
PointsBet Sportsbook NJ Promotions
The platform features a range of promotions for regular customers, most of which are time-sensitive.
Here are example of promos we’ve seen in the past:
- 2 Daily Parlay Boosters: Improve your parlay bets every day by receiving 2two boosts a day, one for traditional parlays and the other for single-game parlays.
- PointsBetting with No Juice: PointsBet often reduced the vig (or “juice”) on PointsBetting markets.
- $50 Refer-a-Friend: For every friend you refer, PointsBet will give you both $50 in site credit once your friend wagers at least $20 in real-money bets.
PointsBet NJ Rewards Program
PointsBet also has a rewards program that awards points with each wager, allowing you to redeem those points for bonus bets. Every $1 wagered on PointsBetting or parlays and every $5 wagered on fixed-odds equal one rewards point.
Every 100 rewards points equal $1 worth of bonus bets, but the minimum number of points you can redeem is 250.
PointsBet Rewards Program
Anyone who becomes a registered member of PointsBet NJ can take part in the rewards program. You only need to place wagers to collect points. Once you reach at least 250 points, you can redeem them for bonus bets.
You will earn one point for every $5 wagered on fixed odds or every $1 wagered on parlays and PointsBetting. Each point is redeemed for $0.01, so to get $1 in bonus bets, you need to collect 100 points.

PointsBet NJ Same Game Parlays
Following in the footsteps of FanDuel and other U.S. sportsbooks that popularized this option, PointsBet has made it possible to bet on the same game parlays.

PointsBet NJ Sportsbook User Experience
Bettors from New Jersey can access PointsBet both as a browser-based sportsbook and as a standalone app for mobile devices. Both platforms feature easy-to-use interfaces that will help you quickly find the sports you like and place wagers on them.
The app is available for both Android and iOS devices, and you can quickly install it by finding it in its respective app store.
Desktop users will have to install Play Location Check, special software that makes sure they are indeed located in New Jersey when betting. The mobile app has built-in location tracking and you only need to allow the app to track your location to place bets.
PointsBet NJ Website Experience
We have no complaints about the user experience on the PointsBet website. The site has a slick dark design and doesn’t overwhelm users with large banners and hundreds of buttons. Everything is simple, and to the point, so even beginner bettors can work their way around finding their targeted sports and markets or information about promotions.
PointsBet NJ Mobile App Experience
PointsBet mobile app looks slightly different from the website, with all changes made with limited screen size in mind. The main menu is at the bottom, alongside shortcuts to Sports, In Play, Quick Parlay, and My Bets.
Adding bets to your slip is effortless, and once the bet slip pops up, you can choose how to handle your multiple selections (single bets, parlay, round-robin).
Each game you tap on will have two main tabs at the top, Fixed Odds and PointsBetting, with the Same Game Parlay tab available for select games.

PointsBet New Jersey Background
If it was up to New Jersey regulators, they would have legalized sports betting a long time ago. Unfortunately, there was a sports betting ban known as PASPA on the federal level.
The good news is that it was lifted in 2018, and NJ was quick to legalize wagering on sports. Governor Phil Murphy signed Assembly Bill 4111 on June 11, 2018, making it possible for casinos and racetracks in NJ to have sportsbooks.
PointsBet didn’t start operating in NJ until 2021 when NJ had already established its online sports betting market. The popular international sportsbook partnered with Bally’s Atlantic City to start offering its services in the state.
PointsBet Sportsbook at Bally’s Atlantic City
PointsBet is partnered with Bally’s Atlantic City, but it’s not the only partner. Namely, FanDuel entered the NJ market much earlier, and that’s why the sportsbook at Bally’s features a FanDuel-branded brick-and-mortar sportsbook. Still, you can deposit and withdraw funds from your PointsBet account at Bally’s.

PointsBet New Jersey Alternatives
There's a lot to like with PointsBet including the unique PointsBetting system, one of the best intro promos currently available, and a great user interface.
There are, however, some PointsBet alternatives that may be a better fit for you depending on what you're looking for.
Here are some options to consider:
- If you prefer lighter user interfaces: FanDuel
- If you want a Bet & Get sign-up bonus: WynnBET
- Our other highest-rated sportsbook: BetMGM
