List of Vermont Sportsbooks

Vermont legalized sports betting in June 2023 and it didn't take long for them to get the regulatory stuff out of the way with the first sportsbook apps launching on January 11, 2024.

FanDuel, DraftKings, and Fanatics were the first sportsbooks to hit the market and they're still the only ones operating in The Green Mountain State. More may come soon, however, as the VT laws allow up to six apps.

While the list of VT sportsbooks is short, the three that are available are great options. FanDuel is my favorite but I regularly use DraftKings and Fanatics, as well. All three are worth signing up for so you can take advantage of the sign-up bonuses and compare odds to make sure you're getting the best deal.

List of All Vermont Sportsbooks

Vermont currently hosts three online sportsbooks: FanDuel, DraftKings, and Fanatics.

BetMGM and ESPN BET were initially denied licenses but I can't imagine they'll just give up on the entering VT and expect them to launch in the next year or two.

Since the betting law allows up to six online sportsbooks, there's room for expansion. Expect heavy hitters like Caesars and BetRivers to throw their hats in the ring in the near future.

In the meantime, let’s take a look at what the three active VT sportsbooks bring to the table.

All VT Sportsbooks:

  1. FanDuel: Best Overall Sportsbook
  2. DraftKings: Best Market Depth
  3. Fanatics: Best Sign-Up Bonus

1) FanDuel: Best Overall Sportsbook

fanduel sportsbook logo

Vermont was the 21st state to welcome FanDuel. They don't have a land-based partner since the state doesn’t require it. Plus, since Vermont has no professional sports teams, FanDuel has no team partnerships in the state.

FanDuel is my pick for the best online sportsbooks in Vermont, mainly because they consistently have the industry’s best odds and offer great promotions. When I'm shopping around the best odds, I often end up placing my bet at FanDuel because they're giving me the best deal.

FanDuel also stands out when it comes to market depth, featuring an extensive range of creative player props and futures. You can bet on anything from a simple player point total to something more exotic like if a player will break a record during the season.

FanDuel delivers a fantastic user experience, highlighted by an intuitive categorization of prop bets, a stable app that rarely crashes, and lightning-fast loading.

However, like every sportsbook, FanDuel isn't without flaws. Their NFL teaser pricing isn't always the best. They typically offer -134 odds on two-team six-point teasers, which is much worse than other books like DraftKings that give -120 odds. Parlays also take up a lot of real estate in the app, which can be annoying for smart bettors generally try to avoid them.

FanDuel Sportsbook Quick Facts:

  • OA BetReview Rating: 94/100
  • Sign-Up Bonus: Bet $5, get $200 in bonus bets if your bet wins
  • Best Features: Odds competitiveness, market variety
  • Biggest Drawbacks: No sportsbook rewards program, not many daily odds boosts
  • Number of Sports: 21+
  • Payout Speed: Up to 5 business days (typically faster)
  • Rewards Program: DFS & Casino only

2) DraftKings: Best Market Depth

It only makes sense that DraftKings is also in the mix with FanDuel, as these two betting powerhouses have been rivals since they launched as DFS sites over a decade ago. Vermont marks the 26th state where DraftKings has launched.

DraftKings' main selling points include profit boost tokens, free-to-play pools, and a stats hub packed with valuable betting insights. Like FanDuel, DraftKings is known for its speed and ease of use. DK covers 24 sports, including less common ones like Jai Alai and Gaelic Football.

However, there's room for improvement. Their odds sometimes fall short compared to the competition, and they tend to limit winning bettors quickly.

DraftKings Sportsbook Quick Facts:

  • OA BetReview Rating: 84/100
  • Sign-Up Bonus: Bet $5, get $150 in bonus bets
  • Best Features: Market depth, profit boost tokens
  • Biggest Drawbacks: Odds not always competitive, quickly limit winners
  • Number of Sports: 25+
  • Payout Speed: Up to 5 business days
  • Rewards Program: Dynasty Rewards

3) Fanatics Sportsbook: Best Sign-Up Bonus

Ever since Fanatics acquired PointsBet's U.S. operations, the brand has been expanding rapidly, and Vermont is one of its latest stops. Given that Vermonters have been using Fanatics for apparel and gear before the online sportsbook launched here, the brand is likely to resonate well with local sports fans.

Fanatics Sportsbook has a lot going for it. One of its standout features is the FanCash rewards system. Think of it as a cashback program that gives you a portion of your wagers back.

I'm also a fan of their prop bets—they offer solid odds and a wide variety of markets to bet on. Plus, their live streaming service is top-notch, covering a broad range of sports and delivering high-quality streams

One drawback is the app's usability. It can feel clunky and a bit confusing for beginners. Also, there’s a lot of chatter online from sharp bettors that they were limited quite fast, though I haven’t personally run into this issue (yet, at least).

Fanatics Sportsbook Quick Facts:

  • OA BetReview Rating: 81/100
  • Sign-Up Bonus: Bet $100, get $100 bonus for 10 days after signing up ($1,000 bonus total).
  • Best Features: Valuable sign-up bonus, competitive prop odds
  • Biggest Drawbacks: Confusing interface, no desktop site, quick to limit winners
  • Number of Sports: 15
  • Payout Speed: Up to 3 business days
  • Rewards Program: FanCash Rewards
