Thrive Fantasy is a DFS site specializing in player prop games, bringing a unique twist on daily fantasy sports. The platform runs contests centered mainly around only the best players, making it a good fit for beginners and casual players.

Thrive offers games both against other users and the house.

The Contest Lobby, which is against other users, features two game formats—traditional and versus. These games are further divided into head-to-head, tournaments/leagues, and featured games based on the size of the player field (and prize pool).

Games from the Props Lobby, which are against the house, work similarly to betting player prop parlays at sports betting sites. You choose how at least one player from two different teams will perform or which player(s) will perform best in a head-to-head matchup with another player.

The sign-up bonus is a 100% deposit match up to $100. Use the Thrive Fantasy promo code ODDS100 code here to unlock the welcome bonus.

In this guide, we go over how the Thrive Fantasy promo code and sign-up bonus work, pros and cons of the platform, games offered, and more to help you decide if Thrive is right for you.

Thrive Fantasy Promo Code & Sign-Up Bonus

The Thrive Fantasy welcome bonus is a 100% deposit match up to $100. The minimum deposit requirement is set at $10—so whatever you deposit in the $10 to $100 range, Thrive will match dollar for dollar. To trigger the offer, use our ODDS100 promo code while depositing.

If you deposit $500 or more, Thrive will give you an addition 6 free entries of $20 each.

Upon receiving the bonus, you'll have 45 days to complete the 4x playthrough requirement. This means you’ll have the bet the bonus money 4 times before you can withdraw any winnings. The playthrough only applies to bonus money, not the initial real money you deposited.

How to Use the Thrive Fantasy Promo Code for the Sign-Up Bonus

Important Information About the Thrive Fantasy Sign-Up Bonus

  • Deposit limits. You must deposit at least $10 to claim the welcome bonus. The offer maxes out at $100. Big depositors ($500+) receive six free $20 contest tickets as an additional bonus.
  • Time to use. The welcome offer is valid for 45 days after it is issued. Unused bonus funds will be forfeited.
  • Playthrough requirement. The sign-up promotion at Thrive Fantasy comes with a 4x wagering requirement on the bonus amount. This wagering target is higher than most comparable intro promos from the best DFS sites. Suppose you deposited $100 and got an additional $100 of bonus money to play with—you would need to wager $400 to convert the bonus into real, withdrawable money.
  • Eligibility. The welcome bonus is only available to new players who are over 18 (19+ is the minimum age requirement in Nebraska; 21+ in Massachusetts) and located in eligible states (more on that below).

Thrive Fantasy Review

Thrive Fantasy was founded in 2016 by Adam Weinstein, the current CEO. The company is headquartered in New York. In 2021, it became the official daily fantasy provider for the Los Angeles Chargers and Jacksonville Jaguars.

While it may not enjoy the same reputation or celebrity financial backing as Underdog Fantasy, or FanDuel DFS it has made a name for itself in the player prop contests niche.

Thrive Fantasy’s DFS offering may appear simple, but there’s more action than meets the eye. A typical DFS site will have you assemble a lineup of athletes within a certain salary cap and then collect points as they perform in real life. At Thrive Fantasy, on the other hand, you are supposed to pick over/under lines for the most elite athletes that suit up that day. The points are then earned based on whether they exceed or fall below those lines for the given stat.

Those new to DFS may find this simplistic, superstar-driven model appealing since it eliminates the need for in-depth research or strategic analysis of rosters to find players buried on the depth chart who might break out that game.

In addition, Thrive Fantasy supposedly takes a 10% rake on contests, which is lower than most of the competition. Thrive especially excels on 2, 3, and 4-pick entries, with payouts being better than all other DFS Pick'em sites for those.

Another selling point is the platform's coverage of eSports events, which is not something you'll find on many other DFS sites.

Thrive Fantasy's traditional sports selection is not chopped liver, either. You can choose from 8 different markets—namely, major leagues, soccer, golf, UFC, and cricket.

When it comes to prop games against the house, Thrive Fantasy will give you the best bang for your buck. It offers a 3.6x multiplier for hitting two picks, as opposed to the standard 3x offered by other sites. Higher picks (3, 4, 5, etc.), also have higher payouts than the standard.

Pros & Cons

Thrive Fantasy State Availability

Players from 31 US states can play at Thrive Fantasy—a reach comparable to that of other DFS sites.

That said, we thought it would be more practical to list the jurisdictions where Thrive Fantasy cannot be used, such as the following states:

  • Alabama
  • Arizona
  • Hawaii
  • Idaho
  • Indiana
  • Iowa
  • Louisiana
  • Maine
  • Mississippi
  • Missouri
  • Montana
  • Nevada
  • New Hampshire
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • Pennsylvania
  • Tennessee
  • Vermont
  • Virginia
  • Washington

Thrive Fantasy Game Types

With two main game formats and several subtypes within each, there is a decent amount of variety at Thrive Fantasy. The contests are all player prop-oriented, with varying entries and prize pools. Here’s a more detailed breakdown.

Contest Lobby Games

In Contest Lobby games, you play for a chance at a portion of the prize pool and can choose from two game modes:

Traditional

Traditional contests pit players against each other. Once you enter the game, you select several over/under lines (5 to 10) on a smaller range of superstar athletes (10 to 20). In addition to standard selections, users have to choose two ICE (in case of emergency) picks, which are used if someone from their lineup is ruled out.

Prop lines are assigned points based on their probability of hitting. If a prop is more likely to happen, it will carry fewer points, and vice versa. Thrive Fantasy may post a 12.5 line for Rudy Gobert rebounds and offer 110 points for the “over” side and 90 points for the “under.”

Upon completion of the contest, points are tallied, and your rankings and payout are determined.

There are several types of traditional contests varying in entrant size, structure, and prize pool:

  • Featured — These are Thrive Fantasy’s flagship events, labeled with a “Featured” logo. They offer the largest prize pools, going up to $25k or more, and may generate up to 1,450 entries. Entry fees are $20 on average. A payout is awarded to the top 300 ranked players. Featured contests are usually GPPs, which means that the prize money is guaranteed, regardless of attendance.
  • Tournaments/leagues — These are similar to “Featured” events but with smaller prize pools ($20 to $500) and entry fees (up to $10). As an incentive, Thrive Fantasy occasionally runs freerolls and no-rake tournaments.
  • Head-to-head — As the name suggests, this is a one-on-one game. The winner takes the entire pot.

Versus

Structured similarly to traditional contests, versus games require you to pick from various prop lines and collect more points than your opponents. However, instead of selecting the over/under line for a specific player, you choose which of the two players will do better in the pre-selected stat category.

For example, you may find a matchup between Josh Allen and Aaron Rodgers. The player with the higher passing touchdown total wins more points.

Prop Lobby Games

In these contests, you’re playing against the house. You create a 2 to 4 leg parlay, choosing from a small list of athletes across different sports. The more selections you hit, the larger the payout.

All legs from the ticket must come through for you to win the contest. Essentially, this is a system that resembles prop parlay betting at US sportsbooks.

Buy-ins range from $1 to $200. Here’s how much you can win based on the number of picks hit:

  • Choose 2/2 correctly and win 3.6x your entry amount (a $10 entry wins $36). These are the highest odds for a 2/2 hit among all DFS sites.
  • Choose 3/3 correctly and win 6.2x your entry amount.
  • Choose 4/4 correctly and win 11x your entry amount.

These payouts are much better than other Pick'em sites which typically offer 3x, 6x, and 10x for 2, 3, and 4-pick entries, respectively.

You’ll find both 1st and 2nd half lines and full-game picks on Thrive Fantasy.
