College basketball is one of the most popular sport among bettors thanks to the wide variety of teams and markets available. In addition, there are games most days of the week, leaving you with a constant source of entertainment.
The problem is, it can be hard to figure out which the best sportsbooks for betting on college basketball are.
To help, we’ve reviewed and analyzed all major online sportsbooks in the U.S. to come up with a list of the best currently available. This guide also goes over everything else you need to know before you start betting on college basketball.
Best NCAA Basketball Betting Sites
College basketball is covered by every major sportsbook in the U.S., which makes it tricky to figure out the best options—unless you’re deep in the game like I am. If you’re not constantly tracking odds shifts, new promos, and the latest features, it’s easy to feel lost in the mix.
But don’t sweat it—I’ve done the digging for you.
After a deep analysis of NCAAB betting sites, I’ve put together a list of the top sportsbooks for college hoops. My rankings are based on factors like odds, user experience, bonuses, and the variety of bets they offer.
With that in mind, here are the five best sportsbooks for college basketball betting.
Best NCAA Basketball Betting Sites:
- FanDuel: Best Overall
- Caesars: Best NCAAB Odds Boosts
- BetMGM: Best Odds
- BetRivers: Best for NCAAB Teasers
- DraftKings: Best for CBB Props
1) FanDuel Sportsbook: Best Overall
Best NCAAB betting features: Market variety & promos
FanDuel is my top choice for college basketball betting because it has the best user experience of any sportsbook, excellent NCAAB promos, and an unmatched variety of wagers for college hoops.
Not only does FanDuel offer competitive college basketball odds, but they also release their lines earlier than most other books. That early window gives bettors a chance to find value before the lines tighten up.
FanDuel’s betting variety is top-notch across all sports, and that depth carries over to college basketball. You’ll find futures on everything from national champion and conference winners to the Wooden Award. They also offer odds for any team to make the Final Four or the NCAA tournament, giving you plenty of options for long-term betting.
I always check FanDuel for big games because they consistently roll out creative specials for those marquee matchups. One example I’ve seen is a bet on total points scored in the first minute of the game—stuff you don’t get everywhere else.
FanDuel also runs a ton of NCAAB-specific promos during the season, often in the form of profit boosts. For the Pittsburgh vs. Duke matchup, they offered a 30% profit boost token that could be applied to any wager. They also feature their signature college basketball parlay boost builder, which increases your payout with each leg you add. When March Madness rolls around, FanDuel kicks it into high gear, tailoring their welcome bonus and promos specifically for the tournament.
No book is perfect, though, and FanDuel’s biggest issue is their teaser odds, which aren’t as competitive as some of their top rivals. And honestly, a loyalty program would be a great addition—it’d make those NCAAB bets feel like they’re building toward something bigger.
FanDuel Sportsbook Quick Facts:
- OA BetReview Rating: 94/100
- Sign-Up Bonus: Get $350 in bonus bets guaranteed when you bet $5 for 7 days
- Best Features: Odds competitiveness, market variety
- Biggest Drawbacks: No sportsbook rewards program, not many daily odds boosts
- Number of Sports: 21+
- Payout Speed: Up to 5 business days (typically faster)
- Rewards Program: DFS & Casino only
2) Caesars Sportsbook: Best NCAAB Odds Boosts
Best NCAAB betting features: Odds boosts & Watch & Bet
When I’m line shopping for college basketball bets, Caesars is always one of my first stops for odds boosts.
Caesars’ claim to fame has always been their odds boosts—they put out 40+ daily. A good number of these are geared toward college basketball. Some focus on long shots, like a 4-team moneyline parlay at +900. But you’ll also find boosts in the +200 range that are often worth a shot and can occasionally work out as +EV plays.
You can find value not just in their odds boosts but also in their lines, which are some of the most competitive for straight bets like moneylines, spreads, and totals.
If you’re betting on college sports at Caesars consistently, you’ll rack up points in their highly regarded Caesars Rewards loyalty program. The best part is that you can redeem those points not just for online perks but also for benefits at their retail properties across the country, including hotel stays and discounts.
I also like Caesars for live betting on college basketball, especially because of their Watch & Bet feature. It does exactly what it says—stream games and place bets on them at the same time.
The one area where Caesars falls short for college basketball is their prop odds, which don’t come close to what FanDuel offers. If you’re into player performance-based wagers, Caesars might not be the best fit.
Caesars Quick Facts:
- OA BetReview Rating: 93/100
- Sign-Up Bonus: Bet $1, Get 2x Winnings on Next 10 Bets
- Best Features: Loyalty program, user-friendly UX
- Biggest Drawbacks: Slower payout speeds, sluggish customer service
- Number of Sports: 23+
- Payout Speed: Up to 72 hours
- Rewards Program: Caesars Rewards
3) BetMGM: Best Odds
Best NCAAB betting features: Odds & features
BetMGM should be on your shortlist for NCAAB betting—they offer the best odds for college hoops, along with handy features, a big welcome bonus, and some really creative game props.
After months of crunching odds across the top sportsbooks, I found that BetMGM regularly offers low vigs on NCAAB bets. This shows most clearly on spreads and totals, where their odds tend to give you just a little more value than other books.
BetMGM’s NCAAB game props are a lot of fun. You can bet on things like both teams to score in the first minute, the time of the first point (over/under 21.5 seconds), or if 8+ points will hit the board in the opening two minutes.
BetMGM is loaded with features; one tool I use all the time for NCAAB betting is Edit My Bet. It lets you tweak active parlays. Say you’ve got Iowa, Duke, and Tennessee lined up to win. Iowa and Duke take care of business, and now you’re feeling good about Tennessee. You can up your stake on them to boost your payout.
All new BetMGM customers are eligible for bonus bets up to $1,500 Back If Your First Bet Loses. There is no BetMGM bonus code required to receive this—it's automatically applied to your account after you register.
Of course, BetMGM isn’t perfect. The platform can get a little glitchy occasionally. Sometimes, you’ll have to click twice to log in or place a bet, which can be frustrating when you’re trying to lock NCAAB bets in fast. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it’s definitely something they could clean up.
BetMGM Quick Facts:
- OA BetReview Rating: 84/100
- Sign-Up Bonus: Up to $1,500 in bonus bets
- Best Features: Edit My Bet, NFL rewards
- Biggest Drawbacks: Quickly limits sharps, UX can be a bit buggy
- Number of Sports: 19+
- Payout Speed: Up to 24 hours
- Rewards Program: MGM Rewards
4) BetRivers: Best for NCAAB Teasers
Best NCAAB betting features: Teasers & payout speed
BetRivers is one of my go-to sportsbooks for college basketball because they’ve got great odds for teaser bets, cool game combo markets, and some of the fastest payouts around.
The value of their teaser odds is most evident with parlay teasers, which they’ve dubbed Teaser+. Unlike other books that lock you into fixed prices, BetRivers calculates the odds based on each leg’s individual numbers. This often works out in your favor, giving you better payouts than the competition at times.
They also have a handy teaser slider that lets you adjust the line by 0.5-point increments. You can usually tweak the lines by up to +/- 8 points from the baseline, giving you a ton of flexibility to shape your bets the way you like.
Sometimes, I like to fire off a game parlay at BetRivers since markets often offer better odds than creating the same bet through a same-game parlay. For example, in a matchup between North Carolina and Duke, you could bet on North Carolina to win and for the total points to exceed 155.5
BetRivers offers a second chance bonus bet as their welcome offer, ranging from $250 to $500 depending on your state. If your first bet loses, they’ll refund it in the form of a bonus bet up to the stated limit.
The most glaring downside at BetRivers is the odds on all non-teaser markets. My months-long analysis has shown they’re among the books charging some of the highest vigs on college basketball.
BetRivers Quick Facts:
- OA BetReview Rating: 82/100
- Sign-Up Bonus: Second chance bet up to $500 depending on state
- Best Features: Fast payouts, competitive teaser and soccer odds
- Biggest Drawbacks: Functionality issues, limits successful bettors quickly
- Number of Sports: 29+
- Payout Speed: Up to 5 business days (usually within a day)
- Rewards Program: iRush Rewards
5) DraftKings: Best for CBB Props
Best NCAAB betting features: Team props & micro betting
DraftKings deserves a spot in your betting rotation if you want to bet on CBB props—but there’s more to like. They’ve got a fantastic user experience, a strong live betting platform for college basketball, and a stats hub that gives you the kind of insights you need to make smarter plays.
DK offers an impressive range of team props for every game. What I really like—and something you don’t often find at other books—is their alternate lines for individual teams. If you’ve got a strong read on how a specific team will perform, this bet will be up your street.
They also have a wide range of alternate lines (up to +/-15) for totals and spreads. Whether you’re dialing in teasers or trying your hand at pleasers, you’ve got the tools to customize bets exactly the way you want.
I always check out DK’s stats hub before placing my NCAAB bets—it’s packed with detailed stats and trends. For instance, in a Pittsburgh-Duke matchup, they’ll surface nuggets like this: each of Pittsburgh’s last eight games against top AP-ranked teams have totaled 143 points or fewer. Insights like that save you hours of digging.
While the app’s dark theme isn’t my favorite, the navigation is clean, and bugs are minimal. The betting program is well-structured, letting you filter team props for the entire day without having to open individual matchups.
DraftKings is also one of the few sportsbooks offering micro betting for college basketball. You can bet on specific in-game moments, like whether the next point will come from a free throw, a field goal, or a three-pointer.
What bugs me is how fast they limit your bets when you’re on a hot streak. If you’re hitting too many NCAAB winners, your max bet limits will shrink fast. And while it’s not a major issue, they should move the correct score markets into a dropdown—scrolling through endless options can get annoying.
DraftKings Sportsbook Quick Facts:
- OA BetReview Rating: 89.5/100
- Sign-Up Bonus: Bet $5, Get $100 Bonus
- Best Features: Prop variety, user experience, creative features
- Biggest Drawbacks: Odds are not always competitive, quickly limit winners
- Number of Sports: 27+
- Payout Speed: Up to 2 business days
- Rewards Program: Dynasty Rewards

What to Look for in an NCAA Basketball Betting Website
It can be difficult to choose among the many online sportsbook options now available. Here are a few things you should consider to help you decide which is best for you:
Legal & Licensed in Your State
Your number one concern should be the legality of online sports betting in your area. While many states have legalized sports betting in recent years, some are still lagging behind, while others don’t even plan on allowing it (like Utah, for example).
Also, not all sportsbooks are available in each state where online betting has been legalized, so you must make sure to find only those sportsbooks that operate in the state where you plan to place real-money bets. Note that you don’t have to be a resident of the state to bet, you just have to be physically located there.
While it is possible for you to wager on some offshore betting sites like Bovada, we recommend that you avoid it, as they aren’t regulated by U.S. organizations.
Competitiveness of Odds
If you truly want to maximize your profit potential, you should go odds shopping. You’ll find that all sportsbooks offer similar odds on the same events, but those small discrepancies can make a big difference over time.
While odds always vary from game to game, some sportsbooks typically offer better college basketball odds than others. Check out the Odds Comparison section above to get an idea of which offer the best odds for college basketball.
If you're ready to compare odds, hop over to our College Basketball Odds & Lines Comparison Tool to find the best deal for upcoming games.
Sign-Up Bonus for New Customers
Almost all of the top sportsbooks offer sign-up promos for new customers. While these vary in types—such as no sweat/second chance bets, deposit matches, and bet & get offers—they all have different values and terms.
To truly see how valuable a given welcome promo is, you must not only look at its core value but also go through the Bonus Terms and Conditions page to find out what rules and restrictions apply to the offer—namely wagering requirements, minimum odds, playthrough requirements, eligible bets markets, and time to use, to name a few.
Ongoing Promotions and Odds Boosts
A welcome offer is a nice way to bump up your initial bankroll. However, once you’ve used it up, you won’t be able to claim it again. That’s why it’s important to see what kind of ongoing promotions a sportsbook features. If you’re only interested in NCAA basketball betting, you should hunt for some promotions that relate specifically to this competition.
What’s more, during the season’s peak, U.S. sportsbooks will commonly offer odds boosts, which offer enhanced odds on the most popular NCAAB games.
User Experience of the App and Website
The look and feel of a given website or an app are more important than people initially give them credit for. For a great user experience, pages should load quickly, and the platform’s design should be clear and intuitive.
While most legit U.S. sportsbooks have modern apps and websites, a lot of them are prone to crashes, freezes, and all sorts of bugs and glitches, so it’s best to test them to avoid encountering any of these issues.
Types of Wagers Offered
The number of markets on NCAA basketball games is another important consideration. If you’re only interested in moneyline, spreads, and totals, you’ll find them on every sportsbook, but if you like props and other exotic bets, you should check to see which book has the most.
For example, betting on how many points an individual player will score or whether the game will go to overtime is not an option on every betting site. In addition, most sportsbooks will allow you to predict the NCAA champion for the current season, but only some of them will go the distance and include futures markets for the champions of individual conferences.
Live Betting Options
Basketball is a perfect sport for live betting fans due to its fast pace and high scoring totals. Therefore, the NCAA basketball betting site of your choice should have a detailed Live Betting section where you can explore a wide range of in-play markets and enjoy various features.
Some online sportsbooks also have real-time stat feeds, game trackers, and even live streaming, allowing you to watch the game while placing bets.
Deposit/Withdrawal Options & Speed
Make sure that the sportsbook you choose accepts the payment method you feel the most comfortable using. Also, pay attention to transaction speed and any potential fees that can be associated with using certain banking options.

Types of Bets You Can Make on NCAA Basketball Games
One of the reasons why NCAA basketball betting is so popular is because it features a large number of betting markets. These markets range from standard moneyline bets and spreads to various props and futures.
Here are quick explanations of all the main types of bets associated with NCAA basketball:
- NCAA Basketball Spread Bets: With spread bets, you choose which team will cover the line. For example, if a team has a -6.5 spread assigned to it, it means they must win by 7 points or more for the bet to be successful. Alternatively, a team with a +6.5 spread must lose by fewer than 7 points or win the game outright.
- NCAA Basketball Total Bets (Over/Under): With total bets, you’ll be guessing whether the combined point total of the two teams will be over or under the line, such as 170.5.
- NCAA Basketball Moneyline: With moneyline bets, you simply need to predict who will win the game.
- NCAA Basketball Parlays: A parlay is a combination of bets from multiple games on a single betting slip. With each added selection, the odds increase and allow for a bigger potential payout. However, each selection must win in order for your parlay to win.
- Same Game Parlays: Same game parlays allow you to combine sides, totals, and prop bets from the same game in a single parlay. Previously this type of bet was rare, but now many sportsbooks are offering same game parlays.
- NCAA Basketball Teasers: A teaser is a parlay bet that allows bettors to adjust the lines on spreads and totals in their favor. Consequently, the payout will be lower.
- NCAA Basketball Game Props: Basketball props allow you to bet on individual segments of the game or guess whether something will occur during the game or not. This can be anything from “race to X points in the quarter” and “who wins the tip-off?” to “will the game go to overtime?”.
- NCAA Basketball Player Props: This is a set of over/under bets relating to the performances of individual players. You can typically guess how many points, rebounds, assists, steals, or blocks a certain player will record.
- NCAA Basketball Round-Robin Bets: Round robins are a series of small parlays drawn from a larger list of teams. For example, a 3-team round robin will consider four possible winning combinations. For example, if you chose Gonzaga, Duke, and Kentucky to win, you can get paid if all teams win or if any two of the three teams win.
- NCAA Basketball Futures: Futures are long-term bets that let you predict the outcome of the NCAA season. You can guess who wins the Championship, which teams win their respective conferences, whether a team will reach the Final Four tournament, and more. You can usually place futures bets at any time during the season and, often, even before the season starts.
How to Make Money Betting on College Basketball
While betting on college basketball is exciting, it is hard to be profitable long term (like most sports). In order to continually win while betting on NCAA basketball games, you need extensive college basketball knowledge and should learn how to recognize and take advantage of betting trends.
Percent of NCAA Basketball You Have to Win to Make Money
Sportsbooks make money by charging a “vig” or “juice” on each game. That’s why you can’t bet both sides of a game and break even.
If you know how to read betting odds and calculate payouts, you already know what we’re talking about. But for those among you who are not familiar with the sportsbooks’ business model, here’s how they make sure to always end up on top.
The simplest way to explain it is to take the most common odds associated with NCAA basketball as an example—point spreads and totals. These 50/50 markets will usually have the odds of -110 on both sides (bet $110 to win $100).
Now, if you were to bet on one side of one of these markets, you wouldn’t get the same amount of money, even though the real probability of this bet offers an equal chance of winning or losing.
Instead, a $100 bet will win you about $91. The $9 you have ended up short of are referred to as the juice or vigorish (or vig, for short). Because of the vig, you must calculate the implied probability. In this case, to profit while betting on markets with -110 odds, you need to win more than 52.38% of your bets.
Tips for Betting the NCAA Basketball
Here are some of the basic tips to keep in mind while betting on college basketball:
- Shop for the best lines and odds: If you have multiple sportsbooks (which is always a good idea), compare the lines and odds on the games you are interested in to see which is the best.
- Follow up on news and injury reports: Stay in touch with what happens in the league, especially regarding injuries. An injury of an important player or a few role players can be detrimental to the team’s chances of winning.
- Manage your bankroll: It should go without saying that you should always be careful with your betting budget. Set up a bankroll and try to stick to it, resisting the temptation of chasing your losses. Never bet a large percentage of your bankroll on a single game—instead, divide it equally over time.
- Take advantage of intro bonuses and other promotions: Most online sportsbooks offer generous welcome bonuses to new customers. By taking advantage of these—as well as ongoing promotions and odds boosts—you may be able to turn a profit betting on college basketball.
- Don’t bet with your heart: If you have a favorite college basketball team, try not to blindly bet on them to win each game. Your heart can cloud your judgment and you may sometimes have unrealistic expectations when your favorite team is involved.
- Target mid-major conferences for line inefficiencies: Power conferences like the ACC or Big Ten get the bulk of betting attention, which means lines for mid-major games (think Horizon League, MAC, or Big Sky) can be softer. Focus on teams with dominant players in these conferences or games where a key injury hasn’t been fully priced into the line.
- Bet against the public on high-profile games: In high-profile matchups like Duke vs. UNC or Kansas vs. Kentucky, public money often floods in on big-name programs or favorites. This can inflate the line, giving value to the underdog or even the under in totals betting. Monitor line movement close to tip-off to spot these opportunities.
- Focus on second-half bets in lopsided matchups: When a heavy favorite jumps out to an early lead against a mid- or low-tier opponent, sportsbooks often overcompensate for the second-half line. Target underdogs to cover in these situations—they often play looser with less pressure, while favorites rest starters or slow the pace to protect the win.
