Sports Illustrated jumped into the sports betting world in 2021 after partnering with 888sport.
SI Sportsbook is available in Colorado, Michigan, and Virginia, and we expect it to expand into other states with legal sports betting in the coming months.
There is a lot to like about Sports Illustrated Sportsbook, including a unique intro promo for new customers, a wide range of sports and markets to bet on, and many banking options for deposits and withdrawals.
Our SI Sportsbook review goes over the intro promo, odds boosts and ongoing promotions, pros and cons, the registration process, customer reviews, and everything else you need to know to decide whether this sportsbook is right for you.
SI Sportsbook Quick Review
Sports Illustrated Sportsbook checks in at the middle of the pack when it comes to our sportsbook ratings.
On the bright side, SI Sportsbook has a sign-up bonus for new customers—Bet $20, Get $200 in Bonus Bets—that requires much less of an upfront investment than any other book.
It also offers great ongoing promotions and odds boosts, a wide range of sports and markets, a decent user interface, and many educational resources for bettors.
The biggest drawback of Sports Illustrated Sportsbook is that it often has worse odds than competitors. While most books have standard lines of around -110, we've found SI Sportsbook to offer lines closer to -111 to -115 for certain games.
With that being said, it's definitely worth adding SI Sportsbook to your rotation of sports betting apps. We recommend using it alongside at least one other book so you can shop around for the best odds before placing bets.

SI Sportsbook Intro Promo
The SI Sportsbook promo gives you $200 in bonus bets for only placing a $20 cash bet—a decent option for those in Colorado and Virginia.
You can access it with our exclusive link here. There is no promo code required.
Here's the Bet & Get offer works:
- After you register for an SI Sportsbook account, make your first deposit of $20 or more.
- Place your first bet of $20 or more on a market with +120 odds or longer (+150, +180, +200, +300, etc.) within 7 days of opening your account.
- You will receive eight $25 bonus bets totaling $200 within 72 hours of placing your first bet
- Use your bonus bets within 7 days of receiving them or they will be removed from your account.
There is only a 1x rollover requirement with the bonus bets, meaning you can withdraw any winnings after betting them once. Note that you only receive the profits from the bonus bets, not including the amount wagered.
For example, if you place your first $25 bonus bet on a market with +300 odds, you would only receive the $75 in profit from the bonus bet, not $100 which would also include the amount wagered.
The SI Sportsbook intro promo doesn't have as much value as some other sportsbooks that offer bonus bets or deposit matches of $2,000 or more, it requires much less upfront investment than other promotions.
For example, for a 100% deposit match up to $1,000 or a $1,000 bonus bet, you would need to put $1,000 into your account. The Sports Illustrated Sportsbook intro bonus only requires a deposit of $20.
The biggest downside of the SI Sportsbook welcome bonus is that you must use the bonus bets within 7 days. This is much lower than some competitors that give you between 30 days and a year to use the bonus bets/site credit.
Still, the Sports Illustrated intro promotion is one of the easiest to take advantage of in Colorado, Michigan, and Virginia.

SI Sportsbook Odds Competitiveness
Most sportsbooks offer standard odds of -110 on 50/50 events. The extra -10 is called the “vig” or “juice” and is what they charge in order to take your bets.
We've found SI Sportsbook's standard odds to range anywhere from -110 to -115 depending on the sport. This means that you have to win a higher proportion of your bets in order to turn a profit.
It's worth noting that SI Sportsbook's odds vary quite drastically from sport to sport. So, this may not be an issue for you depending on which sports you like to bet on.
Either way, we recommend using SI Sportsbook along with at least one other Colorado sportsbook so you shop around for the best odds.
SI Sportsbook Odds Boosts & Promos
Aside from the intro bonus for new customers, Sports Illustrated Sportsbook regularly offers promotions and odds boosts to help users win even more money.
Odds Boosts
SI Sportsbook's odds boosts are called SI SuperBoosts.
There are typically around 3 to 10 at any one time and most are on parlays and other longer shot bets. Because of this, it's important not to blindly take every odds boost. Though the odds are boosted, the bets still don't have a great chance of hitting.
Be sure to still do your research when deciding which (if any) SI SuperBoosts to bet.
To find SI's odds boosts, click into the Sports A-Z menu (left side on desktop or hamburger menu in top left on mobile) and scroll down to SI SuperBoosts.
Promotions
Sports Illustrated Sportsbook also offers some great sportsbook-specific promotions to help customers boost profits, earn bonus bets, and more.
Here are some examples of promos that the SI Sportsbook has run in the past:
- Perfect 10. With this free-to-play game, you simply predict the results of 10 preselected events. If you get all 10 correct, you'll win a share of $10k.
- Three & Win. Place a $25+ parlay with 3+ legs from Friday to Sunday and receive $20 in bonus bets.
- Live Bet Loyalty Card. Receive a bonus $10 bet for every 4 live bets of $10 or more you make with odds of -111 or longer.
- NBA/Soccer Bet Builder Offers. Use BetBuilder (SI's version of same game parlays) to create a parlay of $25 or more and get a $5 bonus bet.
Rewards Program
At this time, it does not appear that SI Sportsbook offers a rewards program like. someother books do.

- Spread bets
- Moneyline bets
- Totals (Over/Under)
- Parlays
- Teasers
- Futures
- Game props
- Player props
- Round robin
- Alternate lines
Live betting
Sports Illustrated Sportsbook offers live betting on most sports including soccer, football, baseball, basketball, hockey, and more. You typically also have the option to cash out of your bets while games are still going on.
For example, if you bet $10 on an underdog at +500 and the live line has them as a slight favorite, you may be able to cash out your bet for around $30 (just an estimate for this example).
This is also helpful for parlays where you have already hit multiple legs. For example, if you have a 4 leg parlay and 3 have already hit, you may be able to cash out of your parlay for a portion of what you would win with the entire parlay.
Note that SI Sportsbook does not offer live streaming of games, unlike some other sportsbooks.
Same game parlays
“Same game parlays” have gained a lot of popularity over the past few years after sportsbooks like FanDuel started offering them.
With same game parlays, you can combine sides (spread and moneyline bets), totals, and prop bets from the same game in a single parlay.
Fortunately, SI Sportsbook DOES offer same game parlays. The functionality is called “BetBuilder”.
If the game you are interested in offers same game parlays, you will see a BetBuilder tab after clicking into it.
Clicking the BetBuilder button will bring up a box that allows you to add markets to your same game parlay.

SI Sportsbook App & Website Experience
You can bet with Sports Illustrated through its website and mobile apps (iOS & Android).
The apps and website will verify your location to ensure you are located in Colorado. You may be required to download an application to your computer to help verify your location or grant the website/mobile app access to your location.
You don't have to be a resident of CO to place bets; you just have to be physically located in the state.
Overall, the SI Sportsbook app and websites offer a decent user experience. I rated them a 4.5 out of 5, or ” above average” relative to other sportsbooks.
While it doesn't offer many of the design fancy features of sportsbooks like FanDuel and DraftKings, it's easy to navigate and to place bets—especially after using it for a bit.
Here are some specific things to note about Sports Illustrated Sportsbook's user experience on both the app and website:
SI Sportsbook Mobile App
The SI Sportsbook mobile app has a primarily black, red, and white design and is structured like many other books.
Overall Navigation
It uses horizontally scrolling menus to highlight key sections of the app and has a sticky footer that allows you to go back to the homepage, see live events and popular bets, and view the promotions.
You can also click the hamburger menu in the top left to open up the main menu that shows promotions, live events, recommended bets, and the Sports A-Z menu (which is where you'll find SI SuperBoosts).
From the homepage and on specific sport pages, you can see the spread, total, and moneyline lines and odds for all games. One of my pet peeves is when books only show one of those three—most often the spread—and make you use a dropdown to change what you're looking at. Luckily, this isn't an issue with SI Sportsbook.
Finding Markets for a Game
After clicking into a game, you can see popular bets in the first tab of the horizontal menu. You can also click into BetBuilder (SI's version of same game parlays), bets by quarter/half, and prop bets. Prop bets, especially, could be organized a little better or have some more structure, but I've found that it's easy enough to find what I'm looking for.
Placing Bets
Once you make your selection(s), you'll see the betslip pop up towards the bottom of your screen.
You can either place your bet straight from the pop up or click the betslip to open it up to see more options such as single bets, parlays, and round robin bets. You can also view your existing bets by clicking into the betslip.
Screenshots
Check out some of the screenshots below to get a better idea of what the SI Sportsbook apps are like (click to expand):
SI Sportsbook Website
Much of what I said about the mobile app above holds true for the full SI Sportsbook website. They both use the same general design, including color scheme, fonts, etc.
One of the main differences with the full site is that the betslip is always visible on the right side of the screen. Instead of having to click into it like with the mobile app, you can always see your selections, their odds, and what the odds on a parlay would be.
The hamburger menu that you have to open on the mobile app is also always available on the left side of the screen, making it much easier to jump around to different parts of the sportsbook.
Check out some of the screenshots below to get a better idea of what the Sports Illustrated Sportsbook website is like (click to expand):
Stability
Many of the negative customer reviews of SI Sportsbook are about the stability of the app. Many users complain that it is laggy or doesn't work at all at times.
Some users have also noted that they often receive errors when trying to place bets.
While I haven't experienced the app not working at all, I have noticed that some screens take a while to load.
Support
Unfortunately, the only way to get support from SI Sportsbook is through the contact form on the site. You can access it by going to SI Sportsbook –> Online help in the footer of the site or mobile app.
Many customers have noted that customer support takes a few days to respond and is often unhelpful.
It would be nice if there were a live chat feature or a phone number that users could use to get faster (and hopefully more helpful) support.
There is an FAQ section that goes over common issues, banking information, and more. I recommend checking here before using the contact form if you run into any issues.

Sports Illustrated Sportsbook Customer Reviews
The SI Sportsbook apps have slightly above-average customer reviews compared to competitors. In the Apple App Store, the apps have an average rating of 3.8 stars from 504 reviews as of the time of this writing.
Many of the positive reviews talk about the great intro promotion and wide variety of sports available.
Here is what I've most commonly seen in negative reviews:
- Trouble withdrawing money. By far the most common complaint is the withdrawal issues. Many customers note that SI requests a lot of documentation such as bank statements, voided checks, pictures of debit cards, and photo ID before allowing you to withdraw money. Even after this, many customers noted that withdrawals took a long time.
- App performance issues. The second-most common complaint is app performance issues. Customers complain about the app taking a long time to load or, at times, not loading at all.
- Poor customer service. On top of the limited customer support options (contact form only), many customers complain that support response times are very long and the responses are often unhelpful.
SI Sportsbook Educational & Responsible Gaming Resources
Like any form of gambling, there is always a risk of losing your money when sports betting—especially if you don't fully understand how it works. In addition, gambling addiction is a serious problem that is easier to fall into than most people realize.
For that reason, when rating sportsbooks, I considered what kind of educational resources they provide and what responsible gambling resources and limits they have in place.
Educational resources
Sports Illustrated offers an entire part of its site dedicated to betting. Here you can see picks (upcoming games as well as futures), game recaps, news, and informational guides for betting. This is a real differentiator from most other books that offer none of this content.
Within SI Sportsbook, you can also see house rules that give information about how certain types of bets work, special rules for specific sports, and more.
I was not able to find any team or player statistics in SI Sportsbook.
Responsible gaming resources & limits
Sports Illustrated Sportsbook has a Player Protection guide that's linked to from the footer of the website and app on all screens (look for the RG symbol).
You can click into this to learn about how to keep your account secure, how to prevent gambling problems, and how to play responsibly.
They also have a number of limits you can place on your account to make sure you are gambling responsibly, including:
- Deposit limit. Limits how much you can deposit to your account on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. You can only change the limit amount after the first time period has expired.
- Wager limit. Limits how much money you can bet in total on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
- Time limit. Limits the total amount of time you can spend on the website or app during a day.
- Self-exclusion. Block yourself from logging into your account for 1 year, 5 years, or forever.
Sports Illustrated Sportsbook Alternatives
Though SI Sportsbook is a solid option for bettors in CO, there are a few other sportsbooks that may be a better fit for you depending on what you're looking for.
Here are some SI Sportsbook alternatives to consider:
- If you want a better overall sportsbook: FanDuel or BetMGM
- If you want a better intro promo: Caesars
- If you want better odds: BetRivers
