The MLB is one of the most popular sports in America. If you’re a fan of it and like to bet on sports, then finding the best MLB betting sites is important so you can give yourself the best chance at winning.

The problem is, with so many sportsbooks available in the rapidly growing U.S. market, it can be difficult to decide which to go with.

To help you out, we’ve scoured the market, analyzing MLB odds, intro promos, banking options, and more to help you find the best sportsbooks for betting on America’s pastime.

Below, you will see our choices for the best MLB betting sites as well as what to look for in sportsbooks, the most popular MLB markets, how to bet on the MLB, and much more.

Best MLB Betting Sites

To find the best MLB betting sites, we compared all major sportsbooks in the U.S. on MLB odds, promotions, range of markets, user experience, and more.

While we order the sportsbooks based on our overall rating, it’s important to compare them to see which matches your personal needs.

For example, if you want the best intro promo, your best option may be different than if you want the best odds.

If your opening bet loses at Caesars, you'll receive a Bonus bet of equal value as a refund, up to $1,000. You must use the Bonus Bet within 14 days once it hits your account. Access it with our exclusive link here.

Caesars Sportsbook became one of the best sportsbooks available after acquiring William Hill and integrating its technology into the Caesars platform.

Caesars Sportsbook offers one of the best intro promos for new customers—a Bonus Bet of up to $1,000 with promo code OA1000. If your first bet loses, Caesars will give you a bonus bet up to $1,000.

The perks of the Caesars Sportsbook don't end after you take advantage of the intro bonus, either. They offer some of the most competitive MLB odds in the industry and have attractive ongoing promotions and odds boosts to help you win more.

Caesars also offers all major sports and bet types—including same game parlays that allow you to combine sides, totals, and prop bets from the same game in one parlay.

There isn't much not to like when it comes to the new Caesars Sportsbook. While it isn't my favorite user interface of all the sportsbook apps, it's easy to navigate and place bets.

Overall, Caesars Sportsbook is a phenomenal option when it comes to betting on the MLB. They have one of the best intro promos, great odds, regular odds boosts, and a decent user experience.

New customers receive $200 in bonus bets after depositing $10+ and placing a $5+ bet on any market. You will receive your bonus bets within 72 hours of your first bet settling and you have 14 days to use them once they hit your account. Access the promo with our exclusive link here.

FanDuel is tied as our highest-rated MLB sportsbook thanks to the competitive odds, generous promotions and odds boosts, variety of bet types and sports to wager on, and a great user experience on both the website and mobile app.

The bet $5, ge $200 intro promo for new customers is also one of the best currently available. If your first bet loses, FanDuel will refund you in bonus bets up to $200. You only have 14 days to use the bonus bets (if you receive them) but you only have to bet them once before you can withdraw any winnings.

FanDuel pioneered the “Same Game Parlay” and offers the smoothest and most complete process for betting them. With these, you can combine prop bets, totals, and sides from the same game in a single parlay. If you've ever seen screenshots of ridiculous parlays from a single game online, it was likely a Same Game Parlay from FanDuel.

Whether you are looking for a single sportsbook to use or want to add another book to your lineup of MLB betting options, FanDuel Sportsbook is one of the best options currently available. There's a reason FanDuel dominates market share in the U.S. and we think you'll be very satisfied if you decide to go with them.

If your first bet loses, receive a refund in bonus bets up to $1,500. You must use the bonus bets within 7 days of them being credited to your account but there is only a 1x rollover requirement. Access it with our exclusive link here.

BetMGM Sportsbook is another one of our highest-rated online sportsbooks—scoring well in all categories we analyze.

To start, all new BetMGM customers are eligible for Second Chance Bet Up to $1,500. There is no BetMGM bonus code required to receive this—it's automatically applied to your account after you register.

BetMGM also offers a wide variety of sports and bet types, generous promotions and odds boosts, competitive MLB odds, and a good user experience.

Another thing that sets BetMGM apart is that it offers true same game parlays (called “One Game Parlays”). Like with FanDuel's Same Game Parlays, you can combine prop bets, totals, and/or sides from the same game in one parlay.

Of all the sportsbooks we've analyzed, BetMGM has the best customer reviews. On the Apple App Store, BetMGM has an average of 4.8 stars from over 87 thousand reviews.

On the downside, BetMGM doesn't have player statistics available in the app and it can be difficult to get ahold of customer support.

Overall, BetMGM is one of best sportsbooks currently available, offering one of the best intro promos in the nation, competitive odds boosts and ongoing promotions, a great user experience, and everything else you may want in a book.

BetRivers/SugarHouse offers a second chance bet up to $500 in all states except NY where its $100. You have 30 days to use the bonus bet if you receive it and there is only a 1x rollover requirement.

BetRivers and SugarHouse are essentially the same sportsbook, they just operate in different states with a different brand name. We listed BetRivers/SurgarHouse towards the end of this list, but that doesn’t mean they’re a bad option for college basketball betting—actually far from it.

BetRivers/SugarHouse offer a second chance bonus bet up to $500. If your first bet loses, you'll get a refund in the form of a bonus bet up to the limit. You have 30 days to use the bonus bet once you receive it.

BetRivers and SugarHouse also offer some of the best MLB odds that we've seen. While most books offer the standard -110 odds on spread and total bets, BetRivers and SugarHouse regularly offer odds of -108 or -109.

The sportsbooks have been known to feature exciting MLB deals throughout the year. They’ve also run a few non-sport-specific promotions like the Daily Parlay Boost, allowing bettors to win an extra 10% on any winning parlay.

We’d be remiss not to mention the BetRivers’/SugarHouse’s loyalty program, iRush rewards. Bettors can simultaneously earn loyalty and bonus store points and redeem them for various perks and/or bonus money rewards.

DraftKings will match 20% of your first deposit of up to $5,000 ($1,000 max match in site credit). You must bet the bonus 25x before you are able to withdraw it and you have 90 days to do so.

DraftKings Sportsbook is another amazing option when it comes to MLB sports betting sites.

DraftKings offers competitive odds, generous promotions and odds boosts, a variety of sports to wager on and bet types (including Same Game Parlays), and great user experience on both the website and mobile app.

The intro promo provides good value ($1,000 if maxed out), but the 25x rollover requirement is a lot especially considering you only have 90 days to bet it. In order to take advantage of the full welcome bonus, you would need to deposit $5,000 then bet $25,000 over the first 90 days.

Like most other competitive online sportsbooks, DraftKings regularly offers MLB odds boosts and ongoing promotions—such as parlay insurance, ways to earn bonus bets, and more. Taking advantage of these is a great way to maximize your winnings.

Though it isn't quite our highest-rated sportsbook, DraftKings in undoubtedly one of the best options currently available and we think you'll be very satisfied if you go with them. Just be sure to read the fine print on the intro promo and bet the deposit match in time.

Betway Sportsbook is another smaller sportsbook, but is still competitive with all of the market leaders.

Our favorite thing about Betway Sportsbook is the fast payouts. All withdrawal requests are typically processed within 48 hours (and often much faster), meaning you don't have to wait long to get your money.

Betway also offers a wide variety of sports and markets, including the coveted same game parlay, which is available for most MLB games.

New customers can take advantage of the Betway intro promo which refunds your first bet with a bonus bet if it loses up to $150. Just make sure you use it within 7 days of hitting your account if you do lose your first bet.

On the downside, Betway only has mediocre customer reviews and a rather dull interface. While it is easy enough to navigate, it isn't as visually appealing as other books like FanDuel.

If you're looking for a new option to add to your lineup of MLB betting apps, Betway is a great option to consider.

What to Look for in a MLB Betting Website

Now that you have the best MLB betting sites list, all you need to do is choose one (or a few) based on your preferences. All of the above sportsbooks have great coverage of all MLB teams. Alternatively, you can search for a suitable MLB sportsbook yourself. On that note, here are a few pointers that may help you make the right choice.

Legal & Licensed in Your State

The most important thing to consider when betting online is making sure that what you’re doing is legal. The legalization of sports betting in the U.S. has been on the rise in the last several years, and dozens of sportsbooks operate across a large number of regulated states now.

However, note that each state has its own set of legalized betting sites, so check the list of available options in your area.

Whatever you do, don’t opt for offshore betting sites. Although they commonly fall in the legal grey area, offshore sites are usually scammy and unregulated, putting you and your money and sensitive information at risk.

Competitiveness of Odds

The price you get on a given MLB game will determine your potential payout. While the odds tend to be similar across different sportsbooks, the small differences matter, especially when thinking long-term.

Take a single MLB game and sift through all of your sportsbooks to see which offers the best odds. Of course, there isn’t a single sportsbook that will offer the best odds every time, so you’ll need to check this regularly.

Since you can create an account on numerous betting sites, we advise you to register for at least 3 so you can shop around for the best MLB odds and lines.

Welcome Offers

Intro promotions are designed to attract new customers but they all can help you boost your initial bankroll. They all aren’t the same, however.

Some sportsbooks offer free bets or risk-free bets, others match your first deposit, and certain betting sites offer a bonus for merely creating an account (a no deposit bonus).

Apart from choosing the type of welcome offer, you must also consider its value. For instance, some betting sites only offer risk-free bets up to $200, while others give you $1,000 or more.

Also, pay attention to the terms and conditions of the offer to see how long you have to place the bet, any odds requirements, and how long you have to use the ensuing free bet or site credit.

Ongoing Promotions & Odds Boosts

Using the welcome offer is one of the first things you’ll do on an MLB betting site, but once you take advantage of that intro promo, you can only resort to the sportsbook’s ongoing promos and odds boosts.

That’s why it’s important to check the betting site’s full range of promotions before choosing one. Check whether the sportsbook offers deals specific to MLB and how often it features odds boosts and other types of promos like parlay bonuses, free bets, prize pools, and more.

User Experience on the App & Website

The look and feel of a betting platform are more important than people give it credit for. You’ll spend a lot of time on a betting site or app, so it’s worth checking their design, the features they have, how quickly the pages load, and how intuitive the navigation is.

If you plan on betting on mobile, make sure that the sportsbook has an app compatible with your current device and you are comfortable with using it.

Types of Wagers Offered

You will find a typical lineup of MLB wagers on every major betting site, but if you like betting on props, alternate lines, or special bets, you’ll notice that some sportsbooks have more to offer than others.

Compare MLB markets between several of your favorite betting sites to see where you’ll have the most options.

Live Betting Options

Almost all top MLB betting sites allow betting on an ongoing game. However, some books have more extensive live betting features than others.

For instance, certain sites have early cashout options, and others allow you to follow the game through live trackers that include important stats, while some even feature live streaming.

Banking Options & Payout Speed

You should look into several things regarding banking—the number of available payment methods, deposit and withdrawal limits, transaction fees, and speed.

The last one is especially important, as you would want your deposit to go through instantly and not have to wait long for withdrawals. In that regard, check our page dedicated to the fastest payout sportsbooks.

How to Bet on MLB Games

Assuming you haven’t chosen a betting site yet, here’s how the process of placing your first MLB bet looks like from scratch:

  1. Make sure you're old enough to legally bet on sports (21+ in most states).
  2. Pick one of the legal and regulated sportsbooks from our list.
  3. Create an account by filling out a registration form with the required details (name, date of birth, address, last 4 digits of your SSN, etc.).
  4. Find the cashier page and complete your first deposit using one of the accepted payment methods.
  5. Take advantage of the intro promotion.
  6. Find MLB on the list of available sports/competitions and browse through all available games and markets.
  7. Select one or several markets you wish to bet on, and they will appear on your betting slip (usually located on the right side of the screen on the website or the bottom of the mobile app).
  8. Type in your wager amount and confirm your bet.

Types of Bets You Can Make on MLB Games

You can place dozens of different bets on each MLB game and the league as a whole. The wide variety of bets is one reason why the MLB is one of the best sports to bet on. Here are some of the most popular ones:

  • MLB run line. The run line is the MLB version of the point spread. The line is always placed at +/-1.5, meaning that the favorite needs to win by more than a run, or the underdog needs to lose within a run or win outright.
  • MLB moneyline. Moneyline bets simply involve predicting the outright winner of a game.
  • MLB total bets (over/under). With total bets, you predict whether the total number of runs will be over or under a given line, usually set between 6.5 and 11.5.
  • MLB parlays. A parlay allows you to place multiple MLB bets on the same slip.
  • MLB same game parlays. Same game parlays allow you to combine sides, totals, and props from a single MLB game into a parlay.
  • MLB game props. Game props don’t directly relate to the game’s final outcome, but are rather in relation to its individual segments. They can include things like which team will score first, how many home runs will be scored in the game, will there be a run scored in the first inning, etc.
  • MLB player props. Player props are bets that relate to specific players. You can bet on how many hits, runs, or strikeouts a player will record or whether a player will hit a home run.
  • MLB round robins. A round-robin bet lets you create a set of parlays within a larger parlay. For instance, you can take the Dodgers, the Braves, and the White Sox in a round-robin bet. From there, the sportsbook will create 4 individual parlays—one including all 3 teams and 3 parlays consisting of each possible 2-team combination.
  • MLB futures. Futures allow you to bet on things like the World Series winner, MVP, Cy Young Trophy winner, hit leader, and more. You can see current odds for MLB futures on these pages:

How to Make Money Betting on the MLB

Making money betting on sports is difficult and the MLB is no exception. The advantage of MLB over other sports is the number of games to bet on, making it easier to find good betting opportunities but hard to earn a long-term profit.

To increase your chances of being a successful MLB bettor, you should be familiar with some of its betting trends and utilize various tips that can help you along the way.

Percent of MLB Bets You Have to Win to Make Money

The percent of bets you have to win to turn a profit on the MLB depends on the odds. If you assume an average of -110 odds, however, you will have to win about 52.4% of your bets to break even since a $100 wager will payout $91.

Since these are basically 50/50 bets in terms of probability, you may wonder why you’re not getting even money. To put it differently, where does the remaining $9 go?

Each sportsbook takes something that’s called “juice” or “vig.” The $9 from our example can be seen as the sportsbook’s fee to cover operational costs and guarantee a profit.

Because of this, you’ll need to win more than 50% of your -110 bets to end up in the plus column.

If you wish to learn more, check out our page about reading betting odds.

Deciding Between Betting the Run Line and the Moneyline

The run line and the moneyline are two of the most popular MLB bets. The main difference is that the moneyline simply lets you pick the winning side, while the run line considers a handicap of 1.5 runs given to the underdog.

In that sense, the underdog needs to lose by one run or win outright for the bet to win. If you were to bet on the favorite, they would need to win by two or more runs.

There is no “best” bet between the run line and moneyline—it really comes down to the game.

The run line evens out the playfield and considering that more than two runs decide almost two-thirds of all baseball games, it can create great value. Still, you need to factor in the relation between the moneyline and run line to see where the value is truly.

Another thing to look at is the relationship of the run line to totals (over/under). The run line will always be set on 1.5, but the totals can have varying lines. If the game is expected to be low-scoring, it will be more difficult for the favorite to win by two or more runs and vice versa for higher scoring games.

Tips for Betting the MLB

Here are some tips for betting the MLB that can help increase your chances of making money:

  • Take advantage of the sign up offer. Always claim the welcome offer as it will potentially give you free bets, risk-free bets, or an opportunity to extend your bankroll with a deposit bonus.
  • Check for MLB odds boosts & ongoing promos. Odds boosts give you enhanced odds on certain games, lowering the sportsbook’s juice. For instance, you can find the moneyline with the odds of -135 on the favorite and +115 on the underdog be boosted to -125 and +120, respectively. Of course, always be on the lookout for other MLB-specific promotions as well such as parlay insurance and free bets.
  • Manage your bankroll. Pay attention to how much you spend betting and try being responsible with your money. Establish a gambling budget and stick to it. Spread the bankroll as evenly as possible, and never bet more than 5% of your total on any single wager.
  • Go odds shopping. Before betting on any MLB game, compare the odds of all the sportsbooks you use to see which is offering the best deal.
  • Pay attention to stats & trends. Looking into player stats, head-to-head history, form, and other numbers can help you make a better prediction.
  • Stay on top of injury reports. Constantly follow the news regarding injuries. If a key player is ruled out of the game, you can swoop in and make a bet before the sportsbooks change the odds.
  • Be selective with the games you bet on. MLB has an action-packed season with a multitude of games being played every day. However, that doesn’t mean that you should bet on every single game you see. Look for lines and odds that seem off and only bet the ones that you think you have an edge on.
  • Be objective when betting on your team. We all want our favorite team to win, but that doesn’t mean we should always put money on them. If your fandom is affecting you too much, it’s better to avoid betting on the games involving your team completely.
  • Don’t chase after your losses. If you’re in a rut, try to slowly come back out of it with smaller bets. Chasing after losses with bigger and bigger bets is rarely successful and will only create more problems. Always remember to gamble responsibly.
