Ever since the online sports betting scene blew up in the U.S., DraftKings has been right up there leading the pack. They’ve been locked in a neck-and-neck race with FanDuel for the top market share across the nation, a rivalry that's grown right out of their DFS products.

With that being said, I get why some bettors may be looking for DraftKings alternatives. Maybe DraftKings isn’t available in your state, you are looking for another sportsbook to add to your lineup, or you don’t want to use DK for another reason.

Regardless of your reason, there are several sites that have an edge over DraftKings in certain areas.

My picks for the best DraftKings alternatives are FanDuel, Caesars, BetMGM, bet365, and BetRivers. All of these sportsbooks pack enough punch to be considered great substitutes for DraftKings.

Best DraftKings Alternatives

Now, I get it—with all the buzz around DK, it’s easy to assume they're the undisputed best. But the reality isn’t so clear-cut. These other sites have their own strong suits and, frankly, even DraftKings isn't without its shortcomings.

These alternatives I've selected stack up well against DraftKings. They offer their own set of features and unique betting options. Sometimes, they roll out better promos. And occasionally, they provide more competitive odds on certain markets than what you'd find with DK.

Best bet365 alternatives:

  1. FanDuel: Best Prop Bets like DraftKings
  2. Caesars: Best Loyalty Perks Among DraftKings Alternatives
  3. BetMGM: DraftKings Alternative with Unique Betting Options
  4. bet365: Best DraftKings Alternative for Odds Boosts
  5. BetRivers: Best Ongoing Promos Among DraftKings Alternatives

It seems only natural to list FanDuel as the top alternative to DraftKings given their well-known rivalry and ongoing battle for being the top sportsbook in U.S.

But beyond that, I truly believe FanDuel is one of the best sportsboks currently available. They offer a competitive sign-up bonus, a ton of player props and other bet types, and have all the features we’ve come to expect at sportsbooks like same game parlays and early cash outs.

Take a peek at my FanDuel review for a thorough breakdown of what they offer or our FanDuel vs. DraftKings guide for a full comparison. For this piece, I'm zeroing in on 3 unique FanDuel selling points that make FanDuel a great DraftKings alternative:

  • Range of football props: DraftKings and FanDuel both offer a crazy array of props, but for NFL betting, FanDuel gets my vote. I'm especially into their weekly specials, where they dish out odds on unique combos like Jalen Hurts and Russell Wilson combining for 100+ rushing yards.
  • Handy parlay builder: I'm not typically a parlay guy, but I found an NBA parlay on FanDuel that really changed my mind. You can activate filters like “To Score 20+ Points” or “2+ Made Threes,” and FanDuel will suggest a list of players likely to hit those marks.
  • Nice freerolls: FanDuel really steps up with daily freebies. Take the Swish Showdown, for instance—you take a basketball shot in their Faceoff app, and if you score, you win a prize. Then there's the football weekly Shuffle’em' contest. You're dealt a random 3-leg prop parlay, and if your bet hits, you're in for a share of the $25k prize pool.

I don’t think Caesars needs much introduction. If you're not up to speed with the latest in U.S. sports betting, just know that they've developed an impressive sports betting app. In my view, it ranks as the second-best alternative to DraftKings, right behind FanDuel.

Check out the full breakdown of the platform in my Caesars sportsbook review. Right here, though, I'm just going to hit the high points and talk about their top three features.

  • Caesars Rewards: I know it might sound like I'm echoing what others say, but the Caesars Rewards program is really worth the buzz. It's not just about the perks at their physical locations. You also get online benefits for their sportsbook, like monthly bonus bets and birthday gifts.
  • Great range of sports: DraftKings covers mainstream U.S. sports as comprehensively as any sportsbook, but Caesars goes a step further. They offer betting on sports you won't find at DK, like handball and table tennis. It might not be a game-changer for everyone, but for fans of these sports looking to get some action down, it’s a pretty big deal.
  • Odds boosts: Caesars offers the second-highest number of odds boosts among U.S. sportsbooks. On an average day, they put out over 30 boosts, which is roughly triple what DraftKings offers.

FanDuel and DraftKings usually get all the love in conversations the top U.S. sportsbooks, and BetMGM is often overlooked for that top spot. However, from my perspective, it’s right up there with them. In fact, it even outdoes them in several key areas.

Head over to my BetMGM review for a detailed look at their offerings or our BetMGM vs. DraftKings guide for a full comparison. For now, I’ll point out their three standout features:

  • One-of-a-kind game props: DraftKings might have player props down to a science, but BetMGM offers some really unique game props for major sports. A favorite of mine is the “First Play to Result in First Down” for football, where you guess if the first scrimmage play leads to a first down. For NBA games, they've got this neat combo bet where you pick the moneyline winner and whether both teams will score 100+ points.
  • Feature-heavy: BetMGM comes loaded with features, and one that really stands out for me is Edit My Bet. This handy tool lets you tweak your running bets on the fly—changing stakes, swapping selections, adding new picks, and more. It's available for certain markets, both pre-match and live.
  • State-specific offerings: Sign up from New Jersey, and you'll see special promos and bets for the Devils. Join from Michigan, and you’ll get tailor-made deals for Detroit teams. For example, one promo gave you a bonus if the Red Wings net 4+ goals in their next home game. This kind of local touch is a big plus.

bet365's been a real game-changer, introducing stuff like live betting and streaming—features we now take for granted. It's one of those overseas sportsbooks that doesn't always get the credit it deserves, kind of living in the shadow of the big U.S. names.

For me, bet365 was an instant hit. They offer things I just haven’t found anywhere else. If you're up for something new beyond DraftKings, bet365 should definitely be on your radar.

I’ve gone in-depth in my bet365 review, analyzing every nook and cranny of the site. Here, I’ll go over their top three calling cards and explain why they make for a solid DraftKings alternative:

  • Odds boosts galore: Think Caesars is generous with odds boosts? Wait till you check out bet365. They've got boosts across the board, covering everything from MMA to handball. Sure, these boosts are mostly on their pre-made parlays, but we're not talking longshots here. These are typically 3-leg parlays with odds around +200, offering some real value to grab.
  • Milestones: bet365 puts a unique spin on player props. Instead of just the usual stat lines, they have these “milestones” bets. You get different odds for ranges of stats—like, they might offer odds for LeBron hitting over 7 assists, and even higher odds if he smashes past 10. It’s a fresh take on betting on player performances
  • Early payout offers: This kind of promotion is a rare find, and bet365 offers it for plenty of sports. In the NBA, for example, if you place a moneyline bet and your team gets a 20-point lead, bet365 pays out right then and there—even if your team ends up losing later. It's an awesome way to safeguard your bet against those unexpected comebacks.

BetRivers/SugarHouse offers a second chance bet up to $500 in all states except NY where its $100. You have 30 days to use the bonus bet if you receive it and there is only a 1x rollover requirement.

BetRivers has that no-frills vibe, kind of like Caesars. They've really been stepping up their game with their sports betting app lately. Sure, they still seem to focus quite a bit on the casino product (see our BetRivers Casino review here), but in my book, BetRivers is a solid addition to any sportsbook lineup, whether you're rolling with DraftKings or not.

Check out the full scoop in my BetRivers sportsbook review. Right here, though, let’s zero in on some of their best features:

  • Easy to use: BetRivers gets some flak for that pesky newsfeed on desktop, but setting that aside, I find their platform super user-friendly. The blue-white design is easy on the eyes, the fonts are big and clear, and the layout, especially with the new Props Central section, is really well organized. They've added some handy tools for navigation too, like Quick Pick SGP and a search function that recognizes both teams and leagues.
  • House specials: BetRivers has a knack for cooking up some pretty neat combos, kind of like bet365's odds boosts. They handpick these specials, offering odds they think are a good deal. Often, you'll stumble upon bets not typically on the menu, like “The Pistons to land their 1st 3-pointer against the Lakers.” For that bet, they dished out +150 odds—a sweet deal if you're into that kind of action.
  • Lots of insurance promos: BetRivers offers what I like to call “betting safety nets” with their insurance promos. They help take the sting out of a near miss. Say you nail all but one leg of your college football parlay—they'll refund your stake. Or, if you bet on a quarterback to score the first TD and he doesn't score first but does later in the game, you get your bet back. It's a nice cushion to have on props and parlays.

How to Choose DraftKings Alternatives

    1. Welcome bonus: Promos that give bonus bets if your first bet loses are a big draw if you're betting big, but they need more cash upfront to max out (typically $1,000). Bet & Get deals are perfect for those just dipping their toes in since they typically only require a $5 to $20 initial deposit and bet to unlock $100+ in bonus bets. It's all about matching your betting game with the right kind of bonus.
    2. Ongoing promos: The real test of a sportsbook's generosity is around big events like the Super Bowl. That's when they give the best deals for returning bettors. All my DraftKings alternatives have impressive promo lineups for these big occasions, so it's about picking the one that clicks with you.
    3. Odds boosts: I check the daily frequency of odds boosts, the types of bets they apply to, and any stake or payout caps. It's crucial to know whether these boosts favor longshots or safer bets—which safer bets being preferred.
    4. Live streaming: Most top sportsbooks offer it on at least some games, but it's the quality of the stream, the range of sports, and if you need to have money in the game to watch. These bits make or break the live streaming experience.
    5. Micro betting: This is where the action's heating up, especially for live bettors. Most sportsbooks have micro markets for the NFL, but some are branching out. And how fast they update those lines is a key consideration here.
    6. Cool features: Some features are just hype, but there are handy ones too. Like being able to tweak your bet mid-game or those Same Game Parlay options. Those are the ones I’m after.
    7. Payout speed: Most places are in the same ballpark for cashouts, but I give props to those who get you your winnings in just a few hours. You can check out my list of the fastest payout sportsbooks to see which betting site delivers the speediest withdrawals.
    8. Easy access to live chat: Getting to a support live agent shouldn't be a scavenger hunt. I prefer sportsbooks where help is just a click away, no bots or mazes involved, and answer quickly and helpfully.
