Jock MKT is a mobile-only daily fantasy sports app with a stock exchange-like interface. It lets users buy and sell in-play “shares” or enter one of the standard DFS contests.

On most DFS sites, you're stuck with your selected players once the lineups are set before a game. However, Jock MKT allows in-play trading.

The share trading works in real-time, with all player shares starting at $1. Users can trade them and drive their value based on demand (and players' in-game performance). Once an event ends, the shares are paid out based on the fantasy ranking system at Jock MKT and player performance.

You can think of players as assets and use your sports knowledge, intuition, and luck, to invest wisely and earn a profit by holding the best-ranked players.

Jock MKT offers a 100% deposit match bonus up to $100. Use the Jock MKT promo code ODDS100 to unlock the welcome offer and start using Jock MKT.

In this guide, we explain how to use the Jock MKT promo code to unlock the sign-up bonus, go over how the different game types work, and more.

Jock MKT offers a welcome bonus for new players who decide to make a deposit—a 100% match on their deposit amount up to $100. For example, if you deposit $100, you’ll have a total of $200 to play with.

Your bonus funds will be processed within 30 minutes of making your first deposit.

The wagering requirements are set at 5x, meaning you’ll have to bet the bonus amount 5 times before you can cash it out.

As I mentioned, Jock MKT is a mobile-first platform. The web app you can access from your desktop works fine but should be more user-friendly. We’ll focus on the mobile app in this review, as it’s much more convenient.

Even the platform points users toward the mobile app. The first item you’ll see on the homepage is the option to download the app via the App Store or Google Play.

Important Information About the Jock MKT Sign-Up Bonus

  • Deposit limits. The minimum deposit requirement is $20, and the maximum amount you can receive as a bonus is $100, so you have to deposit $100 if you want to max out the bonus. There is no upper limit on how much your first deposit can be.
  • Time to use. You must enter the promo code within 24 hours of making your first deposit. It’s not clear if the bonus funds expire after some amount of time.
  • Playthrough requirements. Playthroughs are set to 500% (or 5x) of your bonus amount. This is higher compared to other popular DFS sites.
  • Eligibility. The welcome bonus is only available to U.S. users from eligible states (see the list below). Only people of legal age can claim the bonus, which is 18+ for DFS in most states, except Nebraska (19+) and Massachusetts (21+).

Jock MKT Review

Jock MKT was established by sports fans and investors who recognized the stock market potential in sports, challenging the traditional approach to DFS with a unique product.

The platform was founded in 2017 and launched in 2020, with Tyler Carlin as the company’s CEO and co-founder. The business even raised $10 million in Series A funding, and one of the investors was Ryan Moore, a board member at DraftKings.

In short, even though it’s labeled as a daily fantasy sports platform, Jock is nothing like FanDuel DFS and other draft-based apps thanks to its unique take on DFS, which revolves around trading players as stocks.

It's all about cash markets, which start with an “Initial Player Offering” (IPO). It presents an opportunity for users to “bid” on athletes. Once the contest begins, they can buy and sell athletes as they see fit and try to earn a profit at the end by holding the “shares” of the best-performing and highest-ranking athletes.

The platform combines daily fantasy sports products with the mechanics of trading stocks and retail investing applications.

Jock MKT also has Pick’em contests where you can choose higher or lower on player stats and compete against the house. Compared to payouts at other DFS Pick'em sites, Jock MKT is better-than-average for 3-pick entries (6x payouts vs 5x).

Although some of the games are complex, it’s a straightforward app. The simple, uncluttered interface with its neat color scheme makes Jock MKT intuitive and beginner-friendly. That said, the web app still has some UI issues when compared with its mobile app counterpart. The features and options are the same regardless of the access method.

The platform focuses on several major competitions: NFL, NBA, NHL, PGA, MLB, and NASCAR. It may not be the most extensive offer out there, but given the live trading functionality, it seems reasonable.

Jock MKT Game Types

Jock MKT offers three game types: Markets, Contests, and Pick'em.

Markets

Markets is the main feature at Jock MKT, and it’s just like a stock market. In the stock market, the goal is to buy shares when their price is low and sell them if the price increases to make a profit. The same applies to this, but the shares are actual athletes.

The player share price is determined by the projected payout after the event they’re part of wraps up. Prices start at $1 and go up to $25, based on the player rankings (in fantasy score).

Therefore, if you buy a player share for the best-performing player in an event, you can sell it at $25 a share. The lowest-ranking players will cost $1 a share. It’s all about predicting how individual players will perform in an event and capitalizing on that.

Let’s say you like Nikola Jokić and want to buy his shares, believing he will finish fifth or higher based on fantasy points after the event in which he and his team participate. The payout for this result is $15, and Nikola’s share costs $12 before the event.

You buy 10 shares for $120, and Nikola delivers the expected result. In that case, his shares will increase to $15 a piece, and you can cash out 10 shares for $150, making a profit of $30.

Each Markets event consists of three phases:

  1. IPO: Before the event, users bid on shares and get notified if someone outbids them. The highest bidder gets the shares. It’s important to note that the number of shares is limited, which is essential for driving their prices.
  2. Live: Live trading starts once the event begins, and users can trade the shares during the event in real time. Prices of shares increase and decrease based on the overall demand.
  3. Final: After the event ends, all players are given fantasy points based on the ranking rules determined by Jock MKT (you can check them on the site). This also determines their share price, and if it’s higher than what you paid for them, you’ll make a profit.

Contests

Contests are similar to Markets, the only difference being fixed buy-in. All participants receive the same number of chips to bid on and trade player shares. They also have the IPO, Live, and Final parts, except participants get chips in the end, and the payouts are fixed.

Compared to Markets, Contest games are less fluid.

Pick’em

If you have some experience with other DFS sites, you are probably familiar with the Pick’em game type. Jock MKT allows choosing stats from two or more players in any sport. Pick whether the player stat will be higher or lower than suggested, and enter the amount you’d like to risk.

The payout structure is somewhat complex but competitive compared to other DFS platforms, especially for 3-pick entires for which it pays 6x instead of 5x like most other options offer.

The standard payout for Mortal Lock is as follows:

  • 5 correct picks for 5 players pay 15x your entry fee
  • 4 correct picks for 4 players pay 10x your entry fee
  • 3 correct picks for 3 players pay 6x your entry fee
  • 2 correct picks for 2 players pay 3x your entry fee

If a player is ruled out from the game, the pick will be excluded from your entry, and your payouts will be adjusted. If you select only two players and one is ruled out, your entry fee will be refunded. If one or more players tie their projected stat, your entry fee is adjusted too.

The payout structure for Partial Lock is as follows:

If you pick 5 players, you’ll get:

  • 5 correct = 10x your entry fee
  • 4 correct = 2x your entry fee
  • 3 correct = 0.4x your entry fee

If you pick 4 players, you’ll get:

  • 4 correct = 5x your entry fee
  • 3 correct = 1.5x your entry fee

Finally, in case you pick 3 players, here’s your payout structure:

  • 3 correct = 2.25x your entry fee
  • 2 correct = 1.25x your entry fee

If a player ties the stat or doesn’t play, the number of picked players will decrease. For example, if you choose five players, the payout for four selected players will apply.

Jock MKT Sports Offered

Jock MKT has a decent offer of sports, as all major leagues plus NASCAR are available. Major League Soccer (MLS) is the only exception, as it isn’t part of the platform’s offer. The site should consider adding the MLS and even some fighting sports, such as the UFC, if it wants to stay competitive.

Here’s the list of all leagues available at the moment:

  • NFL
  • NBA
  • NHL
  • PGA
  • MLB
  • NASCAR
