Under those rules, bets on NFL and NBA were allowed, but only on 3+ game parlays. However, in 1989, the NBA filed a lawsuit and forced Oregon to remove them from the game. Sport Action later came to a close altogether in 2007.
The state decided to sideline Sports Action only to have it reappear in 2019 as the Oregon Lottery Scoreboard, a government-run online sports betting site. That same year, the first retail sportsbooks in tribal casinos were launched as well. In January 2022, the Oregon Lottery struck a deal with DraftKings that would make the latter the sole provider of sports betting in the state.
