Caesars Sportsbook became one of the best sportsbooks available after acquiring William Hill and integrating its technology into the Caesars platform.

The perks of the Caesars Sportsbook don't end after you take advantage of the intro bonus, either. They offer some of the most competitive odds in the industry and have attractive ongoing promotions and odds boosts to help you win more.

Caesars also offers all major sports and bet types—including same game parlays that allow you to combine sides, totals, and prop bets from the same game in one parlay.

The Caesars Sportsbook app is also one of the best available in the nation. It's easy to navigate, is very responsive, and rarely crashes or has other issues.

Overall, Caesars Sportsbook is a phenomenal option when it comes to betting. They have the best sign-up bonus, great odds, regular odds boosts, and an awesome user experience.

New players receive $200 in bonus bets if their first $5+ bet wins. Your bonus bets will be credited within 72 hours of your first wager winning and you have 7 days to use them. Access the promo with our exclusive link here.

FanDuel is tied as our highest-rated sportsbook thanks to the competitive odds, generous promotions and odds boosts, variety of bet types and sports to wager on, and a great user experience on both the website and mobile app.

The Bet $5, Get $200 in Bonus Bets sign-up bonus if one of the best of all legal sportsbooks since it only requires a $10 deposit and $5 bet to receive 30x your initial bet if it wins. FanDuel's welcome bonus gives you the opportunity to build a nice bankroll to start off betting with.

FanDuel pioneered the “Same Game Parlay” and offers the smoothest and most complete process for betting them. With these, you can combine prop bets, totals, and sides from the same game in a single parlay. If you've ever seen screenshots of ridiculous parlays from a single game online, it was likely a Same Game Parlay from FanDuel.

Whether you are looking for a single sportsbook to use or want to add another book to your lineup of options, FanDuel Sportsbook is one of the best options currently available. There's a reason FanDuel dominates market share in the U.S. and we think you'll be very satisfied if you decide to go with them.

BetMGM Sportsbook is another one of our highest-rated online sportsbooks—scoring well in all categories we analyze.

To start, all new BetMGM customers are eligible for a Second Chance Up to $1,500. If your first bet loses, receive a refund in bonus bets up to the limit. There is no BetMGM bonus code required to receive this promo—it's automatically applied to your account after you register and make your first bet.

BetMGM also offers a wide variety of sports and bet types, generous promotions and odds boosts, competitive odds, and a good user experience.

Another thing that sets BetMGM apart is that it offers true same game parlays (called “One Game Parlays”). Like with FanDuel's Same Game Parlays, you can combine prop bets, totals, and/or sides from the same game in one parlay.

Of all the sportsbooks we've analyzed, BetMGM has the best customer reviews. On the Apple App Store, BetMGM has an average of 4.8 stars from over 87 thousand reviews.

On the downside, BetMGM doesn't have player statistics available in the app and it can be difficult to get ahold of customer support.

Overall, BetMGM is one of best sportsbooks currently available, offering one of the best intro promos in the nation, competitive odds boosts and ongoing promotions, a great user experience, and everything else you may want in a book.

BetRivers offers a second chance bet up to the following limits: $500 (IL, IN, LA, MD, MI, NY, PA, VA), $250 (CO, NJ), $100 (NY). You have 30 days to use the bonus bet if you receive it. Access it with our exclusive link here.

BetRivers Sportsbook checks in next on our list of the top sports betting sites/apps. It ranks as “best” or “above average” in every category we score.

The BetRivers intro promo is competitive with other sportsbooks. If your first bet loses, BetRivers will refund it with a bonus bet up of either $500, $250, or $100 depending on your state.

To make things even better, BetRivers regularly offers better odds than every other sportsbook—especially when it comes to the NFL. While other books have standard -110 odds, BetRivers often offers -109 or -108, meaning you have to win fewer bets to be profitable.

Aside from odds, you'll find everything bettors come to expect in online sportsbooks these days with BetRivers, including same game parlays, a variety of markets to choose from, a smooth user experience, and ongoing odds boosts and promotions.

On the downside, some customers have complained of bets taking a long time to settle. In addition, BetRivers doesn't offer team or player stats in the app/on the site—though you can usually find this info on other sites.

If you are looking for a longterm betting app, BetRivers is a great option thanks to the industry-leading odds and well-founded betting experience.

DraftKings will match 20% of your first deposit of up to $5,000 ($1,000 max match in site credit). You must bet the bonus 25x before you are able to withdraw it and you have 90 days to do so.

DraftKings Sportsbook is another amazing option when it comes to sports betting sites.

DraftKings offers competitive odds, generous promotions and odds boosts, a variety of sports to wager on and bet types (including Same Game Parlays), and great user experience on both the website and mobile app.

The intro promo provides good value ($1,000 if maxed out), but the 25x rollover requirement is a lot especially considering you only have 90 days to bet it. In order to take advantage of the full welcome bonus, you would need to deposit $5,000 then bet $25,000 over the first 90 days.

Like most other competitive online sportsbooks, DraftKings regularly offers odds boosts and ongoing promotions—such as parlay insurance, ways to earn bonus bets, and more. Taking advantage of these is a great way to maximize your winnings.

Though it isn't quite our highest-rated sportsbook, DraftKings in undoubtedly one of the best options currently available and we think you'll be very satisfied if you go with them. Just be sure to read the fine print on the intro promo and bet the deposit match in time.

CO, IN, IA, OH, VA: No Offer

Betway Sportsbook is another smaller sportsbook, but is still competitive with all of the market leaders.

Our favorite thing about Betway Sportsbook is the fast payouts. All withdrawal requests are typically processed within 48 hours (and often much faster), meaning you don't have to wait long to get your money.

Betway also offers a wide variety of sports and markets, including the coveted same game parlay.

New customers from select states can take advantage of the Betway intro promo after registering. If you're in AZ, NJ, or PA, you can get $150 in bonus bets if your first bet of $25+ winsUnfortunately, there is currently no Betway sign-up bonus in CO, IN, IA, LA, OH, and VA.

As for other downsides, Betway only has mediocre customer reviews and a rather dull interface. While it is easy enough to navigate, it isn't as visually appealing as other books like FanDuel.

If you're looking for a new sports betting app to add to your lineup, Betway is a great option to consider.

Unibet offers a bonus bet up to $500 for new customers. If you lose your first bet, you will receive site credit equal to your first bet up to $500. You have 30 days to use the credit and there is only a 1x rollover requirement. Access it with our exclusive link here.

Unibet checks in at the middle of the pack when it comes to our sportsbook ratings.

The $500 bonus bet for new customers isn't as valuable as those that offer $1,000 or more, but is still decent and worth taking advantage of. One advantage of it is that the refund is issued as site credit instead of a bonus bet, meaning you can spread it out over multiple bets as you see fit.

Besides that, Unibet regularly offers odds boosts and other promotions for all customers that can help you win more. They also offer all major sports and leagues, as well as same game parlays.

On the downside, many customers have issues with Unibet's identity and location verification, making it difficult to register (identity) or place bets (location). Also, many users complain of long withdrawal wait times.

Overall, Unibet is worth considering if you're looking for an additional sports betting app to use. We recommend using it alongside at least one other sportsbook so you can shop around for the best odds and lines.

Physical Sportsbooks in Arizona

All 20 online licensees are allowed to set up betting shops near the playing/gaming venues. Professional teams will blaze the trail by opening up retail betting lounges close to their stadiums. Tribes will jump on the bandwagon as soon as the amended gaming contract signed by Gov Doug Ducey comes into effect.

Here’s where you can place in-person bets in Arizona:

  • Footprint Center (FanDuel) — 201 E Jefferson St, Phoenix
  • Chase Field (Caesars) — 401 E Jefferson St, Phoenix
  • TPC Scottsdale (DraftKings) — 17020 N Hayden Rd, Scottsdale
  • State Farm Stadium (BetMGM) — 1 Cardinals Dr, Glendale

Team Partnerships With Arizona Sportsbooks

As previously mentioned, the Arizona Department of Gaming will issue up to 10 sports betting licenses to the state’s pro teams and venues. In addition to the four professional franchises —the Cardinals, Diamondbacks, Suns, and Coyotes—a few other entities were also awarded licenses. Here’s the full rundown:

  • BetMGM with the Arizona Cardinals: The betting operator signed a deal with the Cardinals on Aug 9, allowing them to launch retail sportsbooks at State Farm Stadium and three Arizona Gila River facilities.
  • Bally Bet and the Phoenix Mercury: The WNBA’s Phoenix team struck a 15-year sports betting deal in June 2021 with Bally’s. Under the terms, the gaming corporation will open a betting shop near the Footprint Center.
  • FanDuel with the Phoenix Suns: In April 2021, FanDuel joined forces with the Phoenix Suns, becoming the NBA franchise’s first official sportsbook and DFS partner. As part of the agreement, FanDuel will run a retail sportsbook inside the Footprint Center.
  • DraftKings with TPC Scottsdale: The gambling giant partnered with the PGA Tour in April 2021 in a deal that gave DraftKings market entrance and permission to launch a retail sportsbook at the TPC Scottsdale golf course.
  • Caesars with the Arizona Diamondbacks: The two sides signed a 10-year deal in May 2021, allowing Caesars to open a land-based sportsbook and bar outside of Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
  • BetRivers with the Arizona Rattlers: Rush Street Interactive teamed up with the Rattlers in August 2021. Consequently, RSI gained market access in Arizona for its BetRivers sportsbook.

Arizona Sports Betting Timeline

The most notable thing about the Arizona sports betting timeline is how quick the turnaround was from the presentation of the first legislative piece to the official kickoff. The state’s journey to legalize sports betting began when the Supreme Court struck down PASPA in May 2018.

Let’s take a look at what has happened since:

  • January 2019: Sen. Sonny Borrelli introduces SB 1158, a bill that would allow sports at Arizona casinos, stadiums, and bars. The bill doesn’t get the Senate committee’s approval.
  • February 2020: Sen. Sonny Borrelli and Rep. Steve Pierce bring forth SB 1525, an amended version of SB 1158. The bill would legalize land-based sports betting, with Native Tribes getting exclusive rights. Once again, it gets rejected by the committee.
  • March 2021: SB 1797 is introduced to the Senate. If approved, the bill would allow for statewide retail and online sports betting, with professional sports franchises and tribal casinos receiving ten licenses each.
  • April 2021: Following a heated debate, Arizona Senate amended SB 1797 and replaced it with HB 2772. The bill’s final version was passed following a 23-6 vote and was shipped off to Gov. Doug Ducey for his signature. The bill also included an emergency clause that would speed up the launch process, but it requires a two-thirds vote to enact, as per the Arizona Constitution.
  • April 15, 2021: Gov Doug Ducey signs HB 2772 into law, legalizing sports betting and daily fantasy sports in Arizona. Simultaneously, Ducey ratified a new gaming contract with the tribes.
  • September 9, 2021: First state-approved sportsbooks go live in Arizona, including BetMGM, DraftKings, Caesars, and FanDuel.

Arizona Sports Betting Rules and Regulations

The Arizona Department of Gaming, which was appointed as the main regulatory body for gambling activities, has imposed several eligibility requirements for bettors—rules you need to adhere to if you want to bet in Arizona’s online sportsbooks. Below, we’ll go over the most important ones.

Who Is Allowed to Bet in Arizona?

Any one physically in Arizona that’s 21 or older can participate in sports betting. You can visit the sportsbook or sign up for an account while out of state, but you must be in Arizona when submitting your wagers.

During the sign-up process, the betting operator will ask that you provide some basic details, including:

  • Full name
  • Address
  • Login credentials (username, password)
  • Email
  • Cell number
  • Last four digits of your SSN

How Are Arizona Sportsbooks Licensed and Taxed?

Both tax rates and licensing fees are in line with those of other states. Legal sports betting is expected to draw $3 billion in bets and generate $200 million in annual revenue.

The Arizona Department of Gaming released the final draft of tax rates and licenses fees for sports betting in July 2021. Here’s the scoop:

  • Application fees are set at $100,000.
  • A license costs $750,000 and must be renewed annually for a price of $150,000.
  • The tax rate is established at 10% for mobile and 8% for retail betting operators.
  • The ADG will also issue ten limited operator licenses for off-track betting parlors and horse tracks. However, these will incur lower fees—a $25,000 initial + $5,000 application fee and an additional $5,000 for the annual renewal fee.

Is Geolocation Required?

Yes, Arizona sportsbooks are required to geofence their services within the state’s boundaries. Therefore, bettors must be present in Arizona when placing their wagers. If you’re betting on a PC or laptop, you’ll have to install geolocation software. Those betting via mobile don’t have to download anything since their devices have built-in GPS trackers.

Are Any Types of Bets Not Allowed?

No bets or sports are off-limits except props based on individual player performance in collegiate events. These include over/under bets on points, rebounds, assists, TDs, yardage, and more.
