bet365, a global sports betting juggernaut, crossed over to the U.S. in 2019 and has been on a roll since. In my view, it’s one of the few offshore brands that has the chops to take on domestic giants.

I've got bet365 ranked fourth among online sportsbooks in the U.S. states where it operates, including Colorado, Iowa, Kentucky, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, and Virginia.

bet365 is a great sportsbook, but if it’s not available where you live, if you don’t like the user experience, or just looking for another book to add to your arsenal, there are some great alternatives to consider.

I've directly compared bet365 to other popular sportsbooks to find the best 5 alternatives—FanDuel, Caesars, BetMGM, BetRivers, and Betway. They're all on par with or better than bet365 in terms of user experience, but each brings something different to the table

Let me break down these betting sites that are similar to bet365. You'll get the inside track on each one, figuring out if they're worth a shot or if you should stick with bet365.

Best bet365 Alternatives

From a distance, it might seem like there are tons of sites just like bet365, all offering pretty similar things. But, having been around the betting block for a while, I've learned to pick up on those little differences that set each site apart.

I've handpicked five sportsbooks that, in my opinion, match up to or are better than bet365 and make for great alternatives.

Just a heads-up before you jump in—you don't need to zero in on just one. Actually, it's smarter to play the field with a few apps. This way, you can take advantage of their promotions and easily shop for odds and lines.

FanDuel's hype is everywhere and, in my experience, they live up to it. They've crafted what I consider the most well-rounded sportsbook in the U.S., hitting the mark in every key performance area I consider. This easily makes them a top bet365 alternative in my eyes.

FanDuel's strong suits that really impress me are:

  • Unbeatable range of props: bet365 has some cool props, sure, but FanDuel's on another level. Take last Thanksgiving, for example—they unleashed a slew of specials. You had options like “Any Defensive Player to Return an Interception for a TD” in a series of NFL games or “Points in Every Quarter of the Thanksgiving Tripleheader.” And their long-haul bets, like “Worst Regular Season Record”, are just as unique—you won't find those everywhere.
  • Freerolls: Freerolls are a bit of a unicorn in sportsbooks and are usually more common in the DFS sector. But FanDuel breaks the mold by offering these free-play games for both DFS players and sports bettors. For example, their recent college football freeroll challenged players to hit as many of their 6 picks as they could, all for a shot at a slice of the $10k prize pool.
  • Tons of helpful resources: FanDuel goes above and beyond other books when it comes to educational content and supporting data. Their “Learn to Bet” section breaks down all the betting basics with user-friendly guides and videos. Plus, their “Research” department is brimming with in-depth analyses of upcoming events in every sport—the kind of stuff that would take days to dig up online. I'm especially impressed with their transparency, like showing how many people have placed bets on their pre-made SGPs.

When comparing FanDuel and bet365, there are areas where bet365 comes out on top.

Building on our earlier discussion about props, bet365 also brings something unique to the table. They offer unique player prop markets that FanDuel and many other books don’t offer.

bet365 doesn’t lag behind in the freerolls department, either. They host their own across the NFL and NBA, with prizes reaching up to $25k.

Both sites have the SGP+ feature, letting bettors mix and match picks from one game with another game or sport.

When it comes to sports coverage, bet365 has an edge with 21 sports, one more than FanDuel. But, they don’t include lacrosse, which is a bit of a bummer for me since it's one of my favorite niche sports to bet on.

When Caesars first hit the online sports betting scene, they weren't exactly at the top of the game. But they've made some serious moves since then. A few smart acquisitions and some big upgrades to their platform and app, and now they're right up there with the heavy hitters.

If you're sizing up sportsbooks like bet365, Caesars has to be in the conversation. It's one of my go-to's. Let me break down what makes them a standout choice:

  • Ease of use: Caesars has really got it down when it comes to making their sportsbook user-friendly. They rock a cool white and dark green look that's a nice change-up from bet365. Big thumbs up for their easy-to-read font and clutter-free layout—you can zip around the site with no hassle. The way they've organized their bet slip, with separate sections for active and settled bets, is great and really helps with keeping track. The facial recognition on their mobile app works flawlessly, making access quick.
  • Great micro-betting options: Micro-betting is catching fire among live betting fans. This subset of live betting lets you get in on the action of each play. Caesars excels here, covering not just the major sports but also NCAA games and a few other markets. With their “Fire Bets,” you can wager on edge-of-your-seat moments, like predicting the “Type of Basket” to be scored next in a nail-biting NCAAB game.
  • Loyalty program: Caesars online sportsbook is tied to their top-notch loyalty program, Caesars Rewards, which many consider the best around. As you place bets, you rack up Tier Credits and Reward Credits. One type of point boosts your status in the program, and the other can be redeemed at over 50 Caesars locations across the country. The perks are pretty sweet, ranging from free casino play to complimentary hotel stays.

Caesars is the only sportsbook that gives bet365 a run for its money when it comes to odds boosts. They dish out over 40 of these boosts daily. While their odds boosts might not span as many sports as bet365’s do, they definitely outdo most other books. The only real downer here is Caesars' cap on the maximum stake you can place on these odds boosts, though it is usually pretty high at around $100 each.

While Caesars has one more sport in its lineup than bet365, they don't quite match up in terms of market variety. Also, Caesars’ range of props and futures bets doesn’t have the same depth as bet365.

Unlike bet365, Caesars doesn't offer bet builders and bet modifiers.

BetMGM is the only sportsbook that really matches bet365's flair for innovation. That's saying a lot, seeing how bet365 is arguably the biggest trendsetter in the game.

BetMGM was formed by two gambling giants and really shows its pedigree. You can just tell there's a ton of expertise and experience baked into it.

I’ve identified three star qualities of BetMGM—their real wow factors. But honestly, that's just scratching the surface:

  • Localized offerings: BetMGM is one of the two sportsbooks I've seen that tailor their content for specific state teams. Like, if you're betting from Detroit, you get exclusive bet types and promos for local teams like the Pistons, Lions, Tigers, or the Red Wings. I really dig this personalized approach they've taken.
  • Great promos: BetMGM really goes all out with their promos for returning bettors. We're talking referral bonuses, survivor pool challenges, apparel giveaways, freerolls, and insurance promos—they spare no expense. They always keep at least five deals in rotation, some of which are pretty unique. There was this one promo offering a three-night stay at the MGM Grand and tickets to the Pro Ball.
  • Unique features: Most U.S. sportsbooks now offer things like Same Game Parlays and Cash Out options, but BetMGM takes innovation to the next level. They've introduced a slick parlay builder called Easy Parlay. Just filter by sport, choose your bet type, and voilà—games that fit your criteria pop up for speedy parlay creation. And then there's my personal favorite, Edit My Bet—a feature that’s also available at bet365. It lets you tweak running bets on the fly, like swapping selections or adjusting your stake.

BetMGM's offers a similar range of props as bet365, but they also sprinkle in some off-the-wall bets. Check out their “Signature Bets” for some out-of-the-box options. You’ll find bets like “Neither Team to score on their opening drive” or “Jordan Love to complete his first 5 pass attempts” during an NFL game.

bet365’s got a decent spread with 21 sports, but BetMGM is on another level, covering 27 sports. They’re the only top-tier sportsbook with odds on beach volleyball, alpine skiing, and Gaelic games. They’re definitely the spot for those looking to broaden their betting horizons.

The one clear area where BetMGM lags behind bet365 is odds boosts. BetMGM rolls out about 5 to 10 daily, which doesn’t quite stack up to the sheer volume that bet365 offers.

BetRivers/SugarHouse offers a second chance bet up to $500 in all states except NY where its $100. You have 30 days to use the bonus bet if you receive it and there is only a 1x rollover requirement.

BetRivers might not have the same buzz as the Big 4—FanDuel, BetMGM, DraftKings, and Caesars—but it's definitely holding its own. While it might come off as casino-oriented, don't miss out on its sportsbook. It's on an upswing and getting better by the day.

I've pinpointed some key features at BetRivers sportsbook that make it a solid pick when you're sizing up alternatives to bet365.

  • Cool pre-made parlays and handy props functionality: BetRivers has a neat section called House Specials, showcasing their custom pre-made parlays. You’ll run into bets like “Commanders to Score 15+ Points in Either Half vs. Cowboys” at +200 odds. Check out the Prop Central department if you’re a fan of prop bets. Just pick a sport, and they line up all the props for various games, nice and organized for quick picks.
  • Great live betting options: bet365 was the pioneer of live betting, and they've got it down to an art. But BetRivers is right on their heels with a live betting platform that’s just as sharp. It's responsive, the odds are competitive, and they offer micro-betting. Plus, they provide free live streaming for most mainstream sports. They're not just about the headline events either; they cover smaller competitions like tennis challengers and the European golf tour, too.
  • Awesome insurance promos: BetRivers has some cool insurance promos, kind of like bet365. Their “First TD scorer” promo is a favorite of mine—if your pick scores at any point, just not first as you predicted, you get your stake returned. That's a neat little safety net.

bet365 and BetRivers share some common ground in how they handle promos. It's cool to see them both offering bet & get promos, not just for newbies but for regular players too.

For instance, you might find a promo where placing a $5+ bet on an NHL game gets you $25 in bonus funds. I'm all for these kinds of deals. They don’t hit your wallet hard, yet they still give your betting game a nice little lift.

BetRivers runs Pick'em contests regularly—basically free-to-play quizzes. You've got 9 questions to tackle. The more you ace, the better your shot at landing some prizes.

bet365 edges out BetRivers with more betting options per sport, plain and simple. They also pack a punch with 21 sports, outdoing BetRivers by three. This extra spread is a real score for those into the more esoteric, niche action.

bet365's got more bells and whistles feature-wise compared to BetRivers, which keeps things pretty basic. However, BetRivers has its own ace: localized content. Say you're in Michigan, you get an entire section dedicated to the Detroit Lions. bet365 doesn't quite match that local flavor.

Betway is another sportsbook that flies under the radar that I feel is hugely underrated. While they’re a big deal internationally., they've carved out a solid presence in the U.S., launching in 8 states already.

Maybe it's their European roots, but Betway and bet365 seem to have a lot in common, especially their love for soccer. They've got this similar vibe going on. Here's what caught my eye about Betway's features:

  • Offbeat sports selection: Betway might not have the biggest betting lineup, but they sure have some unique picks. Ever heard of Jai Alai? It's on their list and kind of reminds me of Backgammon. And for alpine sports fans, Betway's your spot. They've got a solid range of options for biathlon and cross-country skiing.
  • Handy statistics page: Betway has this cool stats page that's a bit different from what you usually see. You pick your sport, zoom in on a specific event or competition, and Betway rolls out all the stats you need, neat and easy to follow. Say you're looking at the Rolland Garros in tennis—you get the lowdown on winners, unseeded surprises, the works. They’ve got details on a ton of events, even for sports where info is hard to snag. It's a handy tool for quick research.
  • Strong market variety: Betway dives deep into popular sports, way more than most U.S-based books. Just for a bit of perspective, they've got odds on over 100 basketball leagues globally. That's a big leap from the 20-40 leagues usually covered in the U.S. And it's not just basketball. Take hockey—you'll find bets on leagues like Switzerland’s Nationalliga and Germany’s Eishockey Liga. It's a glimpse into the kind of market range they offer.

Here's my take on user experience: Betway feels a bit more user-friendly than bet365. They both have that dark theme going on, but Betway's layout comes across as more intuitive and less straining on the eyes.

Just like bet365, Betway doesn't skimp on alternate lines for big sports. For the NBA, they offer a wide range, with teasers and pleasers stretching to the -40/+40 spectrum.

Betway scores over bet365 in the rewards program department. They have one and bet365 doesn't—simple as that.

On the payment front, Betway might accept fewer methods than bet365, but they're quicker at processing payouts.

However, when it comes to the variety of bet types, promo value, and in-play betting, bet365 has the edge over Betway.

How to Choose bet365 Alternatives

Choosing alternatives to bet365 is a breeze when you stick to a clear set of criteria, rather than just going with your gut. I've got a go-to checklist that helps me size up different sites, see how they stack up against each other, and ultimately identify a really solid sportsbook. Here are the key points I look at:

  • Based in the U.S.: I avoid offshore sites like the plague. Betting already has its ups and downs, the last thing I want is trouble with iffy bonuses or payout hassles. You just don't run into these issues with U.S.-licensed sites. They're closely monitored by regulators, so messing up means heavy fines and a tarnished reputation. For me, it's all about having that peace of mind.
  • Has a good amount of sports to bet on: Next on my list is variety in sports. I'm right there with you—most of my bets are on major sports and I throw in some tennis and soccer bets here and there. But I like to have a few niche sports available too, especially when I'm looking to switch things up or dive into new betting territory during the off-season of the big sports.
  • Good ROI welcome bonus: Sure, the size matters, but what's more important is how tough it is to turn that sign-up bonus into actual cash. I look at what it'll cost me to snag the same value bonus as other places. By default, I lean towards “bet & get” welcome bonuses. They're budget-friendly, offer great value, and the best part—they don't hinge on whether your first bet wins or loses. You get the bonus regardless.
  • Sure-thing promos: For promos, I'm all about the sure things. Giveaways, tournaments, and Pick’em contests are fun, no doubt. But I like knowing what’s coming my way. With some bonuses, you're in the running, but there's still a chance you might miss out. This is why I'm really into insurance deals. They offer a guaranteed payoff, and that's big for me.
  • Odds boosts galore: I really look for three things in odds boosts: a good daily selection, no limits on how much you can bet, and boosts even for the less common sports. The more a sportsbook hits these points, the more it grabs my attention.
  • Micro-betting: While all sportsbooks offer live betting, only the most elite ones have dabbled in micro-betting. This betting format is a hit with casual bettors because it's just so much fun. For the sharp bettors, it's a potential goldmine. It opens up fresh angles you can exploit in play-by-play moments.
  • Other features: Cash out, Same Game Parlays, quick parlays, bet builders, bet modifiers—the more features a sportsbook packs in, the higher it ranks on my list.
  • Good data density on mobile: Data density is a big deal for me when betting on the go. Might sound nitpicky, but I prefer sportsbooks that can fit four or more games on a single screen. I've gotten used to this setup, and anything less just makes navigation feel a bit more cumbersome.
  • Efficient customer support: Responsive support is a must-have. I know it's been said, but it's worth repeating. Technical hiccups happen more often than we'd like, and that's true for all sportsbooks. When they do, having a skilled support team ready to jump in and sort things out is crucial. They're the ones who get us back in the game.
  • Reasonable payout speed: Most books are pretty similar when it comes to withdrawal speed, processing payouts within 2-4 days. That's a timeframe I'm comfortable with. But when payouts take longer than this, it starts to get annoying. Learn more in our guide to the betting sites with the fastest payouts
